  1. Will be different for you. We will say same things then and now.
  2. I doubt he will read your posts so perhaps it is ok still for him to come to Vancouver. I agree though, if he read your posts and thought that was what a "fan" in Vancouver was all about, he (like any sane FA), would think twice for sure. Good call and great job of self-reflection.
  3. Uh, no, he had a facial injury and asked to not be traded. Do you even follow the team?
  4. Literally dozens of examples of guys trying to extend careers or jumpstart it and similar that have done the KHL thing and tried to return but seldom get past the fitness testing before main camps at NHL level. Watch a few KHL games and see if you think it is a good training group for NHL Dmen. It certainly can happen but and there are some good examples of guys who have made the jump but it is increasingly become a league that does not stress D played the way the NHL plays it.
  5. You realize OJ will be "Ehrhoff plus" don't you? Better outlet passer already in a much bigger body. Dumba is a great player now and would benefit any team but.....well, nevermind.
  6. Now that's getting too personal for a hockey chat board.
  7. You'll lose respect for a player for asking the team to honour a contract/terms negotiated in good faith? Really?! I don't get this condemnation of players who choose to NOT disrupt their family life mid-season given they have earned the contractual right to make a decision during the off-season when school is out etc. etc. Give the guy a break (any guy who doesn't "waive" a clause) as he earned it and he simply used it, if he signs elsewhere, in a manner he felt best for his family situation. If anything, from my perspective, people like that DESERVE your respect. I guess we view respect much differently.
  8. What on earth makes you say this? What current NHL Dman went to the KHL and came back "better"?
  9. Once upon a time, he was considered a seventh round "steal" as he really showed in his draft plus one year all the signs of becoming an elite goalie. He has certainly become nearly that at the AHL level but not quite translated it to any real measure of success in the show. Still a nice age for a goalie and has played well in games that count (playoffs and international tournaments) everywhere but NHL so if you can get this guy for very little other than a contract, it is a reasonable risk for the Canuck organization. May also, as others have noted, allow movement of one of the prospects by being a security blanket for that option.
  10. AFTER the season was done and the trade deadline long passed. Do you ever tire of being wrong or is it something you cherish?
  11. And somehow he has an apologist as well.....
  12. Plus, the Canucks can apply pressure by putting tariffs on IKEA goods......
  13. Again, odd thing to say. Management has to make business decisions. If they want more money/term than the team feels is reasonable, then you can characterize that as management "not wanting them there" but I view it as the player didn't accept their terms - period. If you are suggesting Canuck management do not like Edler that is at odds with evidence and logic. However, I doubt they would be doing their job if they give him whatever he wants. If they offer him something he/agent turn down, that isn't management not wanting the player.
  14. I find both really funny - and sad at the same time.
  15. so you can write off an entire country and yet not have any issue with the people in that country? so it is a hate of cetain geography. interesting.
  16. Uh, it kinda did if you understand history whatsoever. Further, you have it backwards. If he was saying he was anti-Germany he would be implying what in your world? That he loved Germans but not Germany?
  17. what an obtuse thing to say. Hamhuis made it 100% clear he refused any trade for family and Edler the same. You cannot trade a player who has a NTC if they don't want to be traded. They don't "walk for nothing", they are entitled to leave once their contract ends and they choose not to re-sign. If you could not trade them (see above), there as "nothing" to get so they simply walk - that is it, nothing more. This is up to the players in each case.
  18. please indicate what it then makes one when you condemn an entire nation?
