Should we re-sign Mike Santorelli?
Canada Hockey Place replied to Junkyard Dog's topic in Canucks Talk
Please. Santorelli should be priority #1 IMO. Tanev & Kassian being Restricted, can wait. Santorelli being Unrestricted, makes me a bit nervous.... If Booth stays and Santorelli isn't re-signed, I would be very disappointed. -
If you compared Schroeder to someone like Tyler Ennis in BUF who was drafted 1 season before Schroeder with similar size/skill and consider BUF has less veteran C depth so Ennis has the advantage in games played so far. Schroeder's development curve is right where it should be. Ennis is also an RFA, made over $2.8m last season, needs to be qualified for more than that. Schroeder was signed at $0.6m last season... Solid prospect IMO. And I would think his value to teams without cap room and/or C depth would be huge.

Quit being gullible, you are the problem with this team.
Canada Hockey Place replied to canuckster19's topic in Canucks Talk
I don't think it's that we are gullible. When Botchford prints "Kesler Gives a List of Teams", fans will click to read what it's about. What fan wouldn't? Can't really blame Botchford either because if it isn't him, it would be someone else, as it was even before him. Sensationalist journalism works. Sadly we all fall for it. It is absolutely idiotic though. Lowest common denominator level. But it exists beyond this city and beyond sports. Especially on the internet where attention = $. -
Canucks 2nd rounder 36th overall
Canada Hockey Place replied to Bobby_Lu1ngo's topic in Prospects / Farm Team
Not saying take him in the 2nd. But speaking of D, Arvid Lundberg? He's listed by NHL draft prospects as a C. But is a D. 19 years old but plays in the SHL. Eligible in 2013 but not selected. Ranked 63rd. Ceiling may be lower than younger prospects but should be close to bottom pairing or depth D level right away. http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=39021 http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=152796 -
6th Pick: 2014 NHL Entry Draft
Canada Hockey Place replied to davinci's topic in Prospects / Farm Team
131G in 31 games? I think I did that on NHL '94, when you could pass it into the crease and a player would be there every time. -

I wonder if VAN & ANA would consider trading, ANA: 1st (6), 2nd (36) VAN: 1st (10), 1st (24) -
6th Pick: 2014 NHL Entry Draft
Canada Hockey Place replied to davinci's topic in Prospects / Farm Team
Pretty cold thing to say about a struggling player. Malhotra was done once. Mitchell was too injury prone to re-sign, Burrows? Do we really need him?, etc... You should know better. -
6th Pick: 2014 NHL Entry Draft
Canada Hockey Place replied to davinci's topic in Prospects / Farm Team
How about Kevin Fiala? 3rd ranked European skater. Played in the SHL this season. Very poised for a young player. Smaller sample size but better stats than Nylander or Kapanen. His team made the playoffs too. Where he had 1G 5A in 8 games. Season highlights on YouTube if you're interested. -
VAN - Reinhart CGY - Nylander, MacInnis COL - Lemieux CAR - Kapanen

Probably inevitable but I hope they don't announce it today. I hope they wait a few more days, just to teach the "reporter" to wait for confirmation next time.

You know, I come to this website to read topics on these boards. In the hopes of learning something new or gain perspective on other people's opinions. But when I open a thread, it's always the same people arguing and trying to start crap in every thread..... The team may need rebuilding but this message board needs an enema even more IMO.

So can we assume A V wasn't the problem?
Canada Hockey Place replied to jerkstore1972's topic in Canucks Talk
Uhhhh... series isn't over. VAN also held 3-2 series leads in the playoffs when Vigneault was here. Uh... maybe some people here may remember that? -
Given his history, Trevor Linden was probably going to be President someday. This is super fast tracked though. .... In Trevor we trust.

I think the team and (more so) fans need to focus on 1 game at a time. And stop trying so hard to predict the future. Anything can happen. The most beautiful moments in sports history come from overcoming adversity. It's what makes a sport a sport and not a pre-scripted show with a happy ending. Get those 2 points tonight. Get those monkeys off your back. Get those smiles back on your faces. Go Canucks Go!

All said and done, not a lot of talent under 30 years old was traded. The only 1st round pick moved was in the Callahan - St. Louis trade.

Can't believe Booth is still here.

Thank you for all your posts. You seem to be the only one interested in the game itself and not the pointless gossip that surrounds it. -
Is Luongo sitting out again because he's in play?
Canada Hockey Place replied to VegasCanuck's topic in Canucks Talk
Ummmm... where is the logic in this? When has sitting a goalie ever = trade? ie. Halak played the night before he was traded. -

Just additional info for those interested. This is NOT a request for 10 posts about your financial expertise on the matter and how wrong everybody is. OK? Interesting article by Macleans - "The real driver of the price of Bitcoin can be summed up in one word: China." - http://www2.macleans.ca/2014/02/26/why-bitcoin-isnt-dead-in-one-chart/ -

FYI - There are already government backed projects on the way like MintChip - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MintChip "MintChip is a digital currency concept that enables digital transactions backed by the Government of Canada and denominated in a variety of currencies" Obviously not the same thing. But this seems to be what some people in this thread are looking for. -

Just want add 2 points. 1. BTCs are a tool to buy/sell things, not a stock or investment. Some things, like donations/payment for online work are easier with BTCs than cash. ie paying with cash requires a service fee to Paypal or other 3rd party. There are legitimate uses for BTCs. 2. Mt. Gox is an exchange, not a bank. The "theft" being reported is not an overnight hack, it's a long term pilfering that they hadn't noticed over years. It was known for a while that some recent payments from Mt. Gox were being delayed by weeks to months.
