  1. It is a silly rumour. It's not like Stamkos or Toews are available at 1st. It's another prospect who has the potential of becoming another Brendl or Daigle.
  2. That's an interesting thought, thanks for pointing it out. Gillis had his assessment of players, and would have stubbornly stuck with it. Now we've got Benning and Linden's perspective: this will help the team a lot in the long run, and if a guy like Shink isn't as good as GMMG professed then it's likely Linbenning wouldn't have an ego clouding movement decisions. Another reason to be hopeful moving in to the next five years.
  3. If Murph is putting it out there I'm more likely to believe it. That and I think Bob McKenzie has piped in. Bob rarely, if ever makes a bad call.
  4. I was kind of hoping to see him have a good season. He, Kassian, and Richardson were a nice little line last year at times. I also appreciated his tenacity with the injuries and all, but he seemed like too much of a circus distraction. Maybe he should take his buyout cash and practice stick-handling for awhile. Hard to count the number of times he drove with blazing speed losing the puck while running over the opposing goalie, as he tries to avoid running over the goalie. I'm glad this means the buyout Burrows talk will be buried; or at least take on a hypothetical/what could have been form.
  5. I see what you're trying to say OP, but what it sounds like is something different. If someone has an opinion or poential insight (from whatever alleged source) about the inner workings and personal relations of the team we should really celebrate the opportunity as a community to move toward a greater understanding. It seems to me that you are merely questioning the validity or credibility of an individual's alleged source of information, regarding potential rumours or insights as to whether player A does Y or thinks X, or player B enjoys playing poker with Player C. You're post is more about presuming the capacity to determine the truth of one's statement based upon your supposed individual interpretation of the truth. It seems more appropriate, given the intent of this board as an avenue for discussion, to instead of discarding outright one's claim to a brother who's girlfreind knows something, to rather ask a question, seeking to clarify the information. Oh really, you've heard that player X doesn't want to be here? Oh, where did that come from, what makes you think that? The poster or presenter of said information can then reply, and a civil, democratic discussion can then ensue as to the truth validity or credibility of whatever statement or proposal of fact that was made. You're post seems to reflect more a dictatorial presumption of knowing what is and is not true. This is dangerous, and stiffling to any community seeking to engage in meaningful discussion. Yes, perhaps some people make stuff up. So be it. Engage, discuss, question, inquire. I understand your frustrations with rumours that might negatively impact this team. Personally I like hearing the stories, both good and bad, and I can make up my own mind or look further into someone's claim if I want. Afterall, opinions are like a**holes, everyone's got one.
  6. I have a hard time seeing Pits trading Pouliot: (1) they need help on defence, and (2) would a new GM really come in and trade away a potential Norris D-man for Kesler? I'd love to have Pouliot but unfortunately don't see it happening.
  7. Pouliot is Duncan Keith minus the dirtbag factor. i watched him manhandle the Royals here in victoria. would love to see him in vancouver. hard to see pens trading him though, as its their defence that needs help.
