Don't worry, BM is very reliable. I remember buying cows from him when he was auctioning them off as GFs.

The entire tragedy has been nothing but a crass opportunity for Harper to push his agenda and fear monger. This was the sad icing on the cake

It's what leaders do Deb. This didn't happen in a far corner of the world. it happened in the heart of our democracy. I would bet that Corporal Cirillo's mom was briefed about what may be done, & was onboard, and Corporal Cirillo's son will have many sentiments sent his way that he will have a lifetime to reveiw. We have funerals not because someone died, but because they lived. Do you not believe that which was said was reflecting any of the Corporal's views?

  12. Hate those hail Mary/PI last minute clock countdown situations...a game could end without a chance to respond. LaRose eliminated the possibility and the anxiety. Well done.
  13. Awesome to see how excited he was there. Good on him, well done.
  14. The O better be treating the D to dinner. And new cars.
  15. Our defense and special teams are coming up big. Woo.
  16. Good game so far from what I've seen. Officiating is something I've learned to set the bar low for...refuse to allow it to ruin my experience. (I hate the refs)

  17. With that, people are able to express opinions - positive or not. You should be one of the first people to accept that. I work in animal rescue and some of the same people who think animals are "cute" and a novelty or accessory item also dump them for people like me to have to contend with if they get boring or difficult to handle (not directed at you AJ...you know how I feel). So yes, it's a concern if people do something "to" an animal that makes the animal uncomfortable...they have no voice or options to stop it. And really, why? What's the point, other than to grab a laugh at some animal's expense? Which is where I come in. I growl for them. You had a practical reason for "dressing up" your animal. People who do it for their own entertainment despite fact that the animal detests it should be challenged on that. What's in it for anyone? Sorry to rain on the positivity parade...I'm sure I'm not the first to bring an opinion into a thread that isn't all rainbows and lollipops. Here's the deal: I put a Canucks towel on my rabbit while he was eating...took a pic and posted it. Then realized that, in having done so, it could have been traumatic for him as rabbits are terrified by something on their backs...as prey that get captured that way, it's not cool. So it was the first/last time. And I'm only suggesting that people should understand that their animals react as just that - animals. There are reasons they hate it, it's unnatural and threatening to them. This is a discussion board and, with that, we allow for discussion...especially serious discussion that is based on legitimate concerns. Parents don't like to be told how to do it, but at times, it's warranted.
  18. Wow, pretty powerful statement by Peter DeGroot's sister. Compelling.

I all seriousness,..yes, it seemed that despite all of the appeals for understanding from DeGroots friends, family & neighbours saying that he was unstable & needed help not punishment,..little effort was made by the police to reach-out to him through intermediaries or in a non-aggressive once he had been located.

    4. viking mama

      viking mama

Do you think that the belief that DeGroot had a "clear & distinct hatred of the police" caused, this situation? The RCMP officiers & supervisors who behaved aggressively did so, in the wake of the 'Moncton shootings'. This seems to have been a pre-emptive take-out of an armed suspect,..and the decision was likely made due to the heightened fears of supervisors, who then dictated aggressive instructions to their officiers in the field.

  19. Oh, come on dups, try harder. We'll see where this goes.

  20. I honestly hate it when people dress animals up and traumatize them in the process. They hate it, especially cats....why would you do something they hate? Sorry AJ, but you're an animal lover I know, but it's dumb. Dress yourself up - sure. But the animal is just that and I see it serving no purpose whatsoever except to wreck their day. Sure, if it's a sweater or something that keeps their body warm....but hats? With chin straps? That's too much.
