Here's how it works.
You don't get REWARDED for a college education - it prepares you and the rest is left up to you. It isn't a free ticket to anything, it's a foundation and you must build from that.
Honestly, your basic grammar, punctuation and the way you present yourself are the first clues that you have some work to do. Also, arrogance and a sense of entitlement won't take you far, get rid of that stuff. Confidence is fine, the rest comes off smug and like a know it all.
Pace yourself, Work hard, show your skills, continue to absorb things and get your foot in the door someplace. Then hone your skills - be punctual, pleasant, reliable, a team player as well as a leader, and see what develops as you establish yourself as a solid employee.
Also - check into how many kids straight out of college are having a hard time finding jobs and ending up in menial ones. So much so that a recent report suggested that some colleges may soon be required to ensure that there are jobs available to meet the number of people they're running through their programs. It's competitive out there - your college degree is but one part of it and you'll have to now prove yourself in order to move through the ranks.
Your degree holds no power - you do and you can't sit back and expect things, you have to make them happen.
Good luck. I think you'll need it.
