[PGT] Vancouver Canucks at Winnipeg Jets | Dec. 29, 2022

He often does...but it comes through in the next shift, when he sets up a beauty. He's high risk, high reward...happens. I don't argue that he lets emotion get the better of him at times, but it also fuels him when we're all celebrating those beautiful goals he's in on. So it drives him as well as has him taking the first exit off the highway at times. -

If there isn't truth to it, then we're making something out of nothing. Again. And this "obviously/deeper" stuff has bought in to the rumours and is helping bring life to them. So we want a softer/kinder Miller but we all know that nice guys finish last. -

This is the drama take. Did you also notice JT was super charged when he congratulated Delia on a great save prior to the dying seconds confusion? He doesn't keep his emotions in check but he's not the big bad meanie some make him out to be. He's a player who wears his heart on his sleeve, both good and bad. He's the first one to give a guy props out there too...so let's not ignore that part. The same JT who can be a bit of a d because he so badly wants to win also is the first guy to celebrate others out there. -

Where did you hear these rumours? A lot of stuff gets lit and smoulders on sm, then takes off....I look to see what's happening on the bench, etc. and see none of this. I watch for any signs of trouble but don't see any of this having real weight behind it. Frustration...it happens. Nothing more. -

No, it was definitely Schenn who followed Miller and called him out on the ice. But I was ok with that, too. The bff factor isn't stronger than the desire to win factor. Or at least it shouldn't be. Sure, teammates have to go to war together but sometimes it's emotional and I don't know that there's room for grudges or hurt feelings. In the moment stuff when adrenalin is firing on all cylinders. As stated, they're big boys and if they get upset that can lead to the "soft team" stuff that we're trying to eliminate. -

I'm so tired of the drama and soap opera narrative. It's hockey ffs. -

So were you upset when Schenn did the same? Or was that ok because he's not Miller? -

He also was one of our best in the dot overall, had the most shots on the team, zero giveaways/a takeaway a hit and a block. He was engaged. People watch for his mistakes but don't look at the other stuff. -

It's kind of sad to me that some unfounded penalties have created a bit of hesitation in his physical play. He can be such a force out there...if/when permitted to be. -

Have you heard of guys fighting in practice? See Schenn lambasting Miller? They're not children, they're men. They can take it. -

He did...and I was perfectly ok with that. Big boys, they sorted it out and are fine. -

So we don't need coach B behind the bench then? Just follow the script? I think in the dying seconds when a goal is needed it's a bit more urgent than some other situations (delayed call). Split second timing is right....seconds ticking off the clock and you're down a goal. Get the hell off and get an extra attacker on. -

So if he's ignoring the coach then who's the guy to focus on here? We needed another goal...safe isn't always going to get you that. It's a risk to leave that net but making another save wasn't going to even up the game with seconds left on the clock. It was time to go for it. Playing safe isn't an option when you're down a goal in the dying seconds... -

Change his game? Sure. But not the part where he's all in and emotional. I do agree on the defensive lapses part though and he, himself, has discussed the need to do so. He plays on the edge and when he "gives up" on plays he's also been battling prior to and maybe it's conditioning that needs work? He's depleted as he goes off the ice...he does play a heavy game at times (hits) and some just take that part out of the equation. He contributes more than some here give him credit for...because his lapses can be glaring, that's all they see. -

If he was focused on the bench he should've seen Boudreau waving him out. Miller's points balance out at least some of those deficiencies. He isn't a total liability out there as some make him out to be. Without him taking some risks, we're also not getting some of those goals that he sets up (so beautifully). He does have some things to clean up on for sure but some here only see bad stuff. It balances out a bit more than people give him credit for. -

They also didn't really call a fair game...Mik should've had a call (too). I mean, a penalty shot one way and nothing the other way. -

So many here who yelled about our "soft" team who need to remember that JT's anything but. He's rough around the edges but our team really needs a bit (more) of that. Make up your minds. He's a big meanie...but that's what gives him an edge (too). And, as I've said many times before, come playoffs (when we do get there), he's exactly what you need. Someone who cares enough to not care about appearances. SM is mad...oh well. Anyhow, y'all know how I feel about JT. His points are often ignored but they're as important as his flaws (yes, he has some...self admittedly). -

Coach is waving him out....if he's not responding maybe he isn't paying attention and JT's got every right to follow what the coach wants/is asking for. We still had a chance to tie it up at that point...Miller's running on adrenalin and is desperate to get a tie. Which he really shouldn't be faulted on...damned if he does/doesn't. Some are just anti Miller and he'll never do right by them. Even when he does. We always need a scapegoat here and he's the flavour of the season. If he wasn't one of our top point getters? Sure. But he is. -

Game could've gone either way....Jets benefited from 5 of 7 calls made in the 2nd/3rd and got some lucky tip in bounces. Not sure why Mik didn't get a call on the hook on his breakaway but it is what it is. Weak sauce reffing. Penalty shot one way and the other way...nothing. Oh well, used to sub par officiating. 3-2 until an empty netter sealed the deal. Big bad Jets took over in the second when they were gifted some momentum...took it and ran with it. That's a good team over there. This delusional fan'll still be giddy when we win. Not changing that any time soon because if ever I don't get happy over my team's wins, I'll pack it in. But don't count on that happening, I'm on this bandwagon win and lose. A sucker for punishment I guess. GO CANUCKS GO -
