  1. Haha, Burr, by the end o wooooooooooooooooooooooof the year he'll have broken teeth, metal jaw one ear, pins in his leg and a wooden thumb.
  2. Bu bye Landofsocks. Settle down there buckaroo. Let's go boys PP goal time!
  3. I guess every team got the memo: "go for Burr, all clear". Landesinabog, back off.
  4. GBC, I'm counting on you to do the takeover. Get in there. Head shots are ok.
  5. ^In a game that's so vitally important these guys can't go for revenge...we all know how that ends. Yes, it should happen but our team doesn't get away with it. A no win situation for the team...play by the rules, there aren't any. Stray beyond them, they're suddenly firmly in place. Ah well, one day these old croggies'll move on and somebody with integrity will take over. One can hope.
  6. Sad to say, this is what I kind of think needs to happen to expose the inefficiency. Because they'd have to answer for why...although, they'd find some bogus spiel and spew it out there. Problem is, there's no one to appeal their decisions.
  7. Shanny wasn't in place yet and they hadn't really tightened the reins. Or proclaimed that they would be.
  8. Exactly how I saw it. Seems the guys on the Team all concur and think it was another missed call....because it's Burr. Which is not right on so many levels.
  9. He did propel upward....his right skate did leave the ice. And the league already has confirmed he did get his head? Just not the primary point of contact. So barking up the wrong tree here Bure.
  10. I got it from the site. Well that gives me a little hope because it was definitely a "what?" moment. I don't accept the rules as written. They're bogus and subjective and the clowns deciding have friends and contacts in the league which sort of compromises things. They are not in the right...these "rules" are decided based on human assessment and decision. It's not black and white, to they're not right be way of default. I think they're wrong. I don't accept because "someone says so".
  11. Wow, you're really reaching for this. His outside skate forces his body up to Burr's head. Huh?
  12. The fact that there are inconsistencies at all - that is a problem (still). They've had plenty of time to work this stuff out. Ten years since Bertuzzi. So it's not, in fact, homerism if we bring attention to deficienices. We demand fair play and this game has been compromised. If those in place can't figure it out it's time to get someone who does. This isn't bush beer league, it's professional. Time to get it right.
  13. I think an acronym is in order. Department of Player Safety (HITS division) DPS hits. Makes sense now.
  14. So Burr's to blame on this one? Figures.
  15. OK, so we're not tinfoil wearing bloaks then if, in the past, they've got it wrong and rulings against us have been ridiculous. I'm not as quick to move past this as you are. To disregard it. You see, if there are ridiculous suspensions and some players sit, then you rule on the side of leniency in another infraction, people notice. They don't forget. It isn't fair. So we're not whining unjustly, the league is failing to get it right. By your own admission. Can't sweep the ones under the rug that weren't good decisions....they cost us dearly. That's a big deal, when you lose top players for multiple games. It isn't a "woopsie, sorry" deal. At least you have admitted this and, perhaps, you should use it to understand why some of us are calling for a suspension here. The league can't miss some and nail the others...it costs teams games. Possible cups. Momentum.. Other players have to pick up the slack and minutes. Fatigue and injury come into play. It's a big deal. No free passes to be issued here...time to get it right. Actually, Hansen's was a more innocent play because it wasn't even targeted AT the player, it just connected. This one was directed at Burr...arms up, propel and hit. And, by admission, did connect with the head, even if secondary. That's not good.
  16. The league's words are garbage. It's like saying "listen to this politician". And someone else can't decide what was targeted...only the person targeting knows for sure.
  17. So two similar infractions and because one had a more unfortunate end result, it warrants more? So we're actually penalizing the outcome, not the action? Fate decides and that's a slippery slope. You nailed it though...show a bloody picture of a guy with missing teeth and a swollen jaw and you decide on that. Which isn't how it should be done. It can be deceiving. And how about the batting the puck discussion...because you're fairly adamant that the league is doing a good job, I'd like to know why that action was different. I'll wait...
  18. But if there is no consistency in them, that's worthy of looking at? Surely you can understand that? Because they have to measure one against the other in ensuring they apply fair and even discipline...they can't wing it. So of course previous similar infractions have to be looked at.
  19. Two players bat at a puck...one is behind the other and connects with the player in front's head? Why is that suspendable...if, based on the same premise, the player was aiming for the puck...the head was contacted secondary in that? Think Hansen/Hossa. That one was ridiculous...it was because Hossa had a history and flopped to the ice. Only to return the next game. But the league bought in. So the same ruling should apply, shouldn't it? If not, why? THIS is what irks people...that rulings can be manipulated depending on who they're being applied to. I'd like to hear answers as to how you feel they got that one right?
