OK, so we're not tinfoil wearing bloaks then if, in the past, they've got it wrong and rulings against us have been ridiculous. I'm not as quick to move past this as you are. To disregard it.
You see, if there are ridiculous suspensions and some players sit, then you rule on the side of leniency in another infraction, people notice. They don't forget. It isn't fair. So we're not whining unjustly, the league is failing to get it right. By your own admission.
Can't sweep the ones under the rug that weren't good decisions....they cost us dearly. That's a big deal, when you lose top players for multiple games. It isn't a "woopsie, sorry" deal.
At least you have admitted this and, perhaps, you should use it to understand why some of us are calling for a suspension here. The league can't miss some and nail the others...it costs teams games. Possible cups. Momentum.. Other players have to pick up the slack and minutes. Fatigue and injury come into play.
It's a big deal. No free passes to be issued here...time to get it right. Actually, Hansen's was a more innocent play because it wasn't even targeted AT the player, it just connected. This one was directed at Burr...arms up, propel and hit. And, by admission, did connect with the head, even if secondary. That's not good.
