  1. The only thing distracting this team is the God awful situation they're in. The rest is just background noise in my view. Lu isn't the problem, losing and lack of scoring is.
  2. See that's just your take on it but others see it differently. The team ribbed and kidded one another, it's part of their makeup. And this is a continuation of that, not mocking in a hurtful way....if he started after his departure, I'd be more inclined to agree with you. But it's more of an "I'm here, still in your corner" to me. I'm pretty sure that Eddie took a bit of comfort and it helped to ease the tension a bit having someone "kid" with him. Keep things normal. Lighten the mood a bit for there's enough gloom and doom to go around. Life is short, you take it in stride and it's nice to have people who can remind us of that...even during horrible losses.
  3. I think we're reaching for answers and there are none except the obvious...drought snowballs into lack of confidence and now the guys don't look like they even know how to play anymore at times. Every single thing is tentative, thought about and lacks timing and accuracy as a result. It's glaring to me at times....even just getting out of their own end, unsure, slow and rather than just flying out of there, they're looking for what to do. Sad to see it deteriorate like this. What also happens is that guys will look to individually fix things rather than collectively. But I can see where even the most basic of passes is "off". Where there are open nets and there is a moment of pause in "pass or shoot?". Nothing is on instinct and reactionary anymore so it's lacking any sense of flow or momentum. Near misses, with every single thing. My two cents. Kes is one of the only ones offering any sense of a spark out there on the ice at times. At least I think so. I think the record is coincidental...I don't think you can attribute Kes being on/off the ice to our problems. I think the ship is sinking and rather than grab the lifeboats and fight for survival the guys are standing on deck, wondering what to do. Just dig in and fight. Crash, bang, get angry (not puzzled) and play like you'll drown if you don't. Again, people think you plug in or remove player A and problem solved. I think it's much more complex than that and involves all players, not just one.
  4. So your spin is the exact opposite of mine. Pride and dignity come into play with all human beings. People seem to feel that because he made a lot of money he was to be bullet proof. Devoid of human feelings and emotion. Just go out there, like a robot, and be perfect. Even if you team's not scoring and the defense in front of you is buckling...you're the one. It's ALL pinned on you because we can single you out. The people that enjoy his tweets are no lesser than you...just different. People deal with disappointment, heartache, shock and other things in different ways as a result...it's what makes it a wonderful world. Some withdraw and retreat. Some mask it with humour and sarcasm. How is his tweeting any different than us putting our spiels out here, in written form? So he's expected not to use the same avenues afforded to every single one of us? He learned, early on, that he'd have to detract from the team...when he had the C AND was goaltender, he had to answer for the team. So, as it would be, he was honest and forthright, sometimes wearing his heart on his sleeve. What you see is what you get. And some accused him of being difficult, moody, etc. He then turned to using sarcasm and humour to portray his feelings, at least on the surface. To lighten the mood. And I, for one, find it refreshing and (yes, as primitive as I am) entertaining. We're different, that's all. I don't see this as mocking Lack, more a show of support/strength in numbers, even though he doesn't have to do that anymore. "I'm still here, brother". That sort of thing. (and I suspect we will move this to an appropriate spot...in due time)
  5. Well may as well cap off the night by chewing on glass and having someone play a trumpet in my ear...go with the theme in place.

    1. Tearloch7

      Tearloch7

.. this team will recover, and when it does, it will exact payment due .. I have faith.

    2. Mr.DirtyDangles

      Mr.DirtyDangles

The hockey God's must redeem us eventually right ?

  6. I feel the same sadness. Doesn't mean we're any less of an "adult". As a matter of fact, putting down others for their feelings is likely more associated with that lack of maturity. I feel crushed. Fans react differently and do get attached to players who have a strong connection with the city. But it doesn't make us any lesser than you because of it.
  7. I can't be angry at Lu for tweeting because it's not like he's just starting this now...he's poked fun of the team, himself and everything else for a long time now. So I wouldn't expect that to change. He's always been one to seek out the lighter side of things, even when they're very bleak. I welcome the chuckles because there sure isn't much else to laugh about.
  8. I actually find it truly sad that one of our most "interested"/invested players is now sitting in another country getting ready to play for a new team. 1 + 1 = 9?
  9. WE SCORED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 C'mon boys, 19 more to be safe.
  10. Haha, thank you for this. LOL, really needed this.
  11. The least they can do is start a new score and win contest: "Every time the other team scores 5 unanswered goals every fan who stuck in there gets free groceries for life". Something like that.
  12. We're lost. Completely and utterly lost. So sad...what the hell happened here?
  13. People wonder why we aren't calling Jensen up? In this environment, it could break him. Why on Earth would you throw young prospects into the hole we're in? We're always looking for a savior but it's unfair to expect someone to come in and right the ship. I'm glad he's staying where he is so he can build on the confidence rather than have it crushed.
  14. Bah, and I really can't stand him. Drove to pick someone up and another goal. Boom.
  15. What's that you say? Dallas is getting a SHUTOUT? shutoutshutoutshutout
  16. We SO deserve a goal. The fans. We do.
  17. This is what I've been wondering...my exact thoughts. This is not a unified team. They don't even seem to care...wonder what created this?
  18. Give me a break. It's called a HIT ref, but whatever let's knit instead.
  19. This is painful. So incredibly so. Love this team, but wth?? Seriously, SHOW SOME URGENCY.
