  1. OK what time does the game start again?
  2. I HATE those morons who pound on the glass. Jesus, give them a banana or something.
  3. Well this isn't much fun anymore. Hardly got sat down here and it's 2-0. C'mon boys, you've gotta be getting tired of this? Get mad. Hitting your bottom here, time to pick this up.
  4. Can always count on you, Joe! We'll cheer till the cows come home. Cowbell and all!
  5. OK, we'll move to the other thread now....
  6. We'll use this as it doesn't seem like anyone's signed up/doing one?
  7. Couldn't agree more....they play games and twist things around to make something out of nothing. So true....
  8. Think Kony 2012. It's the time that we live in. The internet plants seeds that generate steam and momentum. It means keyboard crusaders can go on important missions, even if they know nothing about them. For what again? Oh yeah - ANYTHING! Sheeple. Grab a catch phrase and run with it. Occupy. Riot. For what again? - OH YEAH. Save the trees, The whales. The bees. Down with GMO's Trade Lu Trade Kes (you get the idea) Some are very worthy causes. Others are simply a quote taken out of context or a headline meant to generate some readers and interest. Seemingly, it works. It's kind of amusing. But annoying as well.
  9. Problem is, you have the luxury of hindsight...GM's don't have that and there are risks involved in moving players. Not fair to do it now, after the fact.
  10. Oh I agree 100%...I mean, how can they come out and say "yeah, we wanted to but (those idiots back at the ranch said no)". They wouldn't have jobs for very long. They said a lot without saying much...confirmed that the owners were very hands on. And we can fully expect that meant they were calling the shots, at least to some degree. And I absolutely HATE that some are now trying to drum up some Kes dirt...I guess our goaltender story is now closed so what on Earth is left to talk about? It ruffles feathers and creates friction...I won't buy into or support it. I think Kes just wants to play. And, mostly, win. Nothing wrong with that....
  11. It's an observation, that's all. Listen, deadline day is fast and furious...a sprint to the finish line. If you're fielding all kinds of offers it leaves little time to "think/walk around". Again, maybe it was before or after the fact. But, if it was "during", then yeah, I stick by what I've said. Observations are a little different than analysis. I didn't go into it.
  12. This kind of speaks volumes to me. Unless it's "after the fact", at which point I'd still expect MG to be more engaged.
  13. This is probably the key here....fires are fueled by this because people hang on every word. So throw them a line and they'll bite. I think it does more harm than good...as much as I LOVE seeing this side of them/things, it's a bit of a problem when translated by the masses. All kinds of different spins put on things.
  14. Here's the part you're missing...you acquire "players" not "scoring". Players score and sometimes they don't...at the moment, ours aren't. But they're expected to and this isn't something management has done/hasn't done...top scorers have not been producing on this team. Now, you may say that it's the management's responsibility to address that, and they try. But there is no store down on the corner that sells guaranteed goals and, with that, we have to count on the players in place to score. Or make sure we get good value if releasing those who were/are expected to score (for they may just find their game again after they're gone). I fully expect some of these guys TO bust out again, Burr being one of them. Even if you trade for other "players", there's no guarantee they'll produce. People want to plug in [scorer] and all problems are solved but we don't get a money back guarantee if we pick up players who don't contribute as much as Kes or others who were in the mix. Those are big skates to fill. Manny wasn't "embarrassed" here, he was actually saluted, honoured and, to some degree, protected.
  15. They're asking Gillman if ownership was involved in the Kes stuff: "they always are (involved), they're here with us, it's always been a collaboration". Owners didn't quash a deal - there was no deal there to be made. Asked about the Lu HC snub...says he doesn't think that factored in to him being moved...was just an ongoing idea/process. To say Lu would still be here if he played Sunday is unfair and inaccurate.
  16. FTR, they left out the part before and after where he stated "he's happy". And it sounded very much like sarcasm and simply a rebuttal to/continuation of the Lu stuff. Nothing to see here....
  17. Re the Kesler quote: Just heard it, definitely continuing with Lu's theme of sarcasm and using humour when addressing awkward situations. Maybe some truth behind it, but they did forget to quote the beginning and end parts where he said "I'm happy". Funny how that happens....
  18. We interrupt this programming for a lighter moment.... Ellen, that you?
  19. I take half of what is said/quoted as either out of context or very tongue in cheek. #MakeItStop/EndTheDrama
  20. In his defense, how many times do you have to tell adults "I'm not going there" before you do get frustrated? They pursue avenues that they know he won't go down....like details of individual trades/situations. I don't find it a bad attitude on his part, I find it pushy on the media's part, who know (or should) the limitations. If they've been told "don't ask" and they ask anyhow, what do you expect? He's in the throes of this stuff and drops it to momentarily give them a snippet...and they're going to go there? What he's going to do with/about Kes? Give me a break.... I'd likely haul off and deck them...I think he handles it fairly well. Farhan should know better by now.
  21. I am probably the only person on Earth at this point who: 1. Has never tried sushi 2. Does not have a cell phone 3. Supports/likes MG
  22. They addressed this...said he's had a very solid month or so and they want to keep that ball rolling....don't want to jeopardize it and want to allow that flow to continue. Are fearful that it could disrupt that and want him to build on that confidence/success. That he'll "be ready" soon, but to allow this development to continue. I tend to agree. Let him tear it up and do well...gather some momentum.
