[PGT] Arizona Coyotes at Vancouver Canucks | Dec. 03, 2022
-DLC- replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Canucks Talk
I see him trying to use positioning more on defense (he likes to intercept pucks) but I can't deny it's more of an offensive physicality. I mean, he got his contract and he's still doing it so not sure why that's mentioned? If it was just to cash in he could ease up, but he hasn't. And our team needs players who'll be physical. Period. For whatever reason. It's just that he's more offensively minded and he's pretty good offensively. So not sure we can fault him for that. Yes, he definitely needs to work on his defensive side of things, can't dispute that. Most of our players fit into that category right now. (Not you, Petey). -

I think it's more than just "points" considered and evaluations factor in a lot of things. Physicality would definitely be one of them...which is why the hits are important (too). JT wasn't getting the offers that they had set a bar at and that mattered. Anyhow, good chat. I'm on the other side of the fence on this although I don't want Bo gone (at all). They can figure it out...I'm just glad JT's here because, without him, this team IS a lot softer. -

I actually think he wiped away a tear...he was emotional as he skated away. The night was one he likely had Duke in his heart. -

Who did that? Not me. ^ Chon....use the time since Miller arrived HERE. You can use those numbers because they're relevant to this team. I went back 4 years and checked the hit stats for both. And you haven't addressed hits. Anyhow, over it....no point as this is going around in circles. -

There's no point in continuing to post your numbers. They don't include hits and my numbers are based on that. I'm not sure you're addressing that part. -

? My numbers...not yours. Yours don't include hits from what I can see...which is my entire point. -

Myers just has to learn to hit using his torso rather than his shoulders/upper body and he'll be fine. -

JT wasn't here then so I'm comparing based on that....their time with this team. Also...you added a year that JT played 19 games so, yeah. Perspective is important...the 2 years you added on: GP: JT.....94 GP: BO....146 I hate doing this because I want both to stay. Together they are becoming quite dangerous. But I now want to go back and look at why you only made it 6 years? Cherry picking. -

I appreciate your opinion but there's also something more to consider...physicality. Matters (at least to me). Our team has been flagged as easy to play against and it's important to change that. Schenn and Miller lead the way in that. Don't get me wrong, I want to keep JT and Bo but hit stats are quite different between the two: JT over the past 4 years: 55-172-90-124 for a total of 440 Bo over the past 4 years: 16-96-64-66 for a total of 231 Faceoffs also matter and we know Bo gives us the best in that department. But it's more than meets the eye....losing JT's physical edge would set us back again and we'd likely be much easier to play against. People don't really factor that part in as much as they should. They see JT with lazy plays and think he's lazy but a guy crashing and banging out there is pretty much not. GP also matters. -

I know we struggle on d but honestly, in watching Quinn with the puck...that guy's agility and ability to move the puck is quite outstanding. His quick turns and how he keeps the puck on his stick while doing so really stands out to me lately. I know he can't out muscle guys but he sure can out maneuver them, even when they appear to be right on top of him...one quick move and he's free. I'm glad Brock showed up like he did...I think the message has been sent. Congrats to Schenn....what a beast. I'm glad he's getting some love, not only from our fanbase but the league. He, JT and Lazar all with 6 hits last night...I feel like upping the physicality helps this team. Not only to send a message but to stay fully engaged. Miller and Bo...that duo has to stay intact for me to remain happy in this life. Petey...what's left to say? He is just making huge strides this year and I love his work ethic. I also love silly stuff....sorry not sorry. -

I can never accept losing...that feels damn good. I know it shouldn't have been such a struggle, but at least they won.- 613 replies
