  1. "A shot at". Kinda weird that some want to sacrifice what this team IS building around players that also matter. You know, Petey, Quinn, Demko. Mediocrity isn't guaranteed to be changed through "a" pick that "may" lead to a player. It also has to come through the guys on the team who are learning how to be better. We want them to believe in what they're doing rather than question it. It's about them being happy (too). Not just this dream some have of a player coming in to save the day who they may have a slim chance at getting. These players have to be part of that.
  2. While that may help in getting "A" guy, it's also important to consider that "the" guys in place also matter. So them coming close without getting rewarded means they experience a black cloud of doubt and negativity rather than the positivity that we're now seeing. You don't think it matters that Petey's finding success? Their games matter too...and we don't want a team that loses if it means they start questioning things, pointing fingers, etc. The bonding and instilled confidence that takes place through this winning matters. Momentum that's being generated and can carry through with a winning mindset. I don't want a team that settles for losing "because". Acceptance and indifference. So it's a fine line here that we're talking about. Personally, I'm ok with losing as it does serve a greater good. But I also know that winning is helping to create that all important "culture" we're hearing about as these guys gel, develop chemistry and start to go to bat for one another. Team game and it's as important as acquiring "a" player.
  3. Really hope we take this one...Vegas nauseates me. I wonder if they'll wear their pretty gold helmets?

Yeah, that's hard to tell which one he will end up with. I really liked Greer, but she is no longer in the running!

Yeah, it really sucks that she got COVID. Bad timing!

      I know!

  5. Your plan, not "the" plan according to management. You won't get it done by trading away one of the driving forces on the team either. You create more holes than you fill that way. But I'm glad the powers that be see that, even if some fans don't.
  6. 4-3 Canucks Miller (baby) Have a great vacation!!
  7. Honestly...I wouldn't bet on JT not going negative emotionally on occasion. And that's ok. We don't need passive acceptance that says "it's ok, everything's fine". Sometimes that raw emotion is necessary and wakes people up. It's dissatisfaction...mostly with self and it's also self corrected and RT is really helping with that. We have a coach who's working them hard and that's obvious in how JT plays. What people viewed as "lazy" was sometimes just being gassed and, at other times yes, emotion where he got caught up in it momentarily and it got the better of him. He'd usually come out the next shift with fire. That low rumbling as he glided off the ice and slammed the gate was shortlived. But it's not indifference or not caring and that matters. A guy who cares too much is a much better alternative.
  8. I didn't even have to try for these...cherry picked randomly in a 2 minute search. There are likely a hundred of these so now you're back pedalling? Also....you've complained in the past few weeks about: the seats in the arena, the ice, the goal song. If it's painful....why? And, ftr, I'm not telling anyone to go away with my suggestion to maybe find something new to do...something pleasurable that makes you happy. It's a valid question as to why some subject themselves to the misery of it all (and ,in the process, us too). The ongoing saga that they've been dragged along for. By the same token, you want to tell the team how they should run things...not your team. Let them do the job they're in place to do. The constant complaints fall on deaf ears. Some of us are here for enjoyment...for recreation and entertainment. That's of value (too). So to constantly harp on us is your deal, not ours. I love hockey. I love THIS team. But to have to hear the same stuff every single time we win a game is overkill. We know, we get it. I look forward to games again...that wasn't the case not long ago. So there's something in that (too). I do this for me...not just "a cup" and bragging rights. For the ride along the way. Lately, it's been a fun one.
  9. I'm having red grapes...I'm on a big grape kick these days. Some fruit is awful/tasteless but the grapes this year are so good. And they're cheap right now.
  10. I love that spring is here....been walking a couple miles along the river each day after work.
