  1. Chris Collinsworth dead-on with his call... "It's so Peyton Manning, isn't it?" ... Luck making great decisions and winning the head to head at the moment.. let's see what Peyton can do on the 2 minute drill!!!
  2. Nice swing pass by Luck... a lot of QB's throw that more to the outside, making the receiver take an extra step or two before turning it up. Luck reads the open flats and throws it upfield a bit so the receiver can turn it up and into the endzone.
  3. Jets fans? Really? I once watched a coaching video featuring Rex Ryan - when he was d-line coach for Baltimore. On the topic of D-Line stances he had the following to say: "I know a lot of coaches make a lot of fuss about a guy's stance.. but I don't bother with it as long as he's effective." He then shared this disturbing analogy: "It's like the old guy at a park. You know, he's on the park bench and he's got his hands in his pants touching himself. It may not look pretty to everyone else, but it feels good to HIM." It was pretty fantastic.
  4. Regarding yesterday's game.. I usually watch the whole thing but I turned it off before half.. you just don't come back from that many turnovers. Unfortunately this game also highlights why we could have really used that home playoff game - though when a BC-based football team has trouble with the rain you have to shake your head. The running game needs to be re-incorporated or Uncle Wally is going to no longer resist the urge to stay up in the press box. I'd also like to see the team stretch the field once in awhile on 1st and 10. Finally, I won't lay this all on DeMarco, but.. I'd be surprised if we didn't see Buck next week.
  5. Logan and the offense will be interesting.. but going into Sask I think it's the D that needs to show up today if they want a chance. We can really get into Durant's head sometimes so it's a real possibility!
  6. I rented Pacific Rim tonight... 7.5/10 . . . solid watch - way more of a movie than giant robots vs monsters. I heard that it was, but was still skeptical until I watched it - didn't disappoint.
  7. Knew 29 of the 43 players to score a goal assisted by both Sedins.. some of those names I don't even recognize. http://vansunsportsblogs.com/2013/10/18/can-you-name-all-42-players-to-score-a-goal-assisted-by-both-sedins-quiz/

35/43, I actually can't believe I left out Lukowich because that was an awesome goal.

The big one I missed was Samuelson.. my most random one I nailed was Murray Baron. The rest were odds n ends like Smoklinski, Lachance, Shannon, etc.

  8. Sedin-Sedin-Kassian Burrows-Kesler-Schroeder Higgins-Richardson-Hansen Booth-Santorelli-Weise ...I dunno. I hate getting caught up in the line-game but if/when everyone is healthy it looks like we could ice a lineup that can generate some chances from all 4 lines.
  9. Schroeder is apparently close to returning.. with Torts saying some positive things about him. At the very least Schroeder is a good set-up man which we seem to be lacking at the moment.. wonder where he fits into the mix!
  10. You stay classy CDC.

holy hell my wifes cats did the same things...furniture bed or rugs. Not the linoleum or hardwood though...I seriously question cats as companions

  12. at 6'3 215 Kassian should have the strength, speed and stamina to retrieve the puck for the Sedins.. he is a good passer and has a decent shot. The Sedins have legendary stamina so if someone else gets the odd shift with them to keep Kass fresh it could totally work. What evidence is there that it doesn't work? It hasn't really been tried yet.
  13. I actually agree with Gallagher this morning - Sedins with Kassian, Booth Kesler and Santorelli on the 2nd line, Hansen Higgins and Richardson on the 3rd. I think it's the best bet and most sustainable in the long run.. one way or another this team is at the mercy of Booth and Kassian getting going and generating some offense if we're going to be successful. Sedins are producing well, so is Garrison and Santorelli has been a great surprise... it's not like we have nothing to build on.
  14. Tortorella is going to use up all of his rants in the first 2 weeks on the job.

  15. Lou tweeting about making "bold moves" in his fantasy football league..

  16. without offense or special teams taking the field the Lions D scored 18 points and only allowed 17... you don't see that very often.
  17. I thought that was pretty awesome.. with some better luck Buck would have been a top QB in the league... nice to see the Bombers fans appreciate that. I have family out east... if there's a team I have a soft spot for it's them,
  18. Defense is really kicking it into "championship" gear lately... and if the old axiom holds true that bodes well for us!
  19. Agreed... if we make a late run here and secure home field advantage for the playoffs I really like our chances.
  20. Getting in here a little late, but it was an awesome game for sure. Defense played amazing today and the O with DeMarco did an amazing job in the 2nd half, especially on that last drive. Most exciting game I've seen in awhile!
  21. I hope they give Harris the ball a bit more considering we're Lulay-less.
  22. Agreed... Lions got a little lucky at the end with how much time burned off the clock - although I give the defense credit for not giving up the big play and forcing Burris to keep it short. I agree with the TSN coverage... Love Chris Cuthbert/Suitor calling the games and the panel is always entertaining.
  23. On the Ti-Cats I think they need some credit as well... D-line was stingy against the run for most of the day and I don't think Burris' touchdown pass where he stiff-arms Banks, runs to the sideline and throws across his body for the TD got enough credit - hell of a play.
