Bruce is daring management to fire him scratching Bear like this. I kinda think they aren’t going to give him the coup de grace, though, because why not just tank it out given the strength of the draft. Don’t let a new coach bump ruin it. That said, we need to beat the sea krak tonight. Myers can choke slam McCann through the ice for Mrs Bartkowski once and for all.

[Rumour] Bo Horvat Trade/Contract Talks

As disappointing as the season has been it sure is interesting to see what they do here. Maybe Sharangovich or Mercer… plus Wood and Nemec? I’m not familiar with New Jersey’s depth at all. -

OEL can, and likely will be able to, run a power play for the next few years even if he’s slowing down 5 on 5. (Which is an if for me! Haha.) Giving him PP 1 duties is probably the best way to maximize his cap hit, as well. With all that said, I’m incredibly cautious on Byram - isn’t he hurt again? -

If we get Byram we should move Hughes for a huge haul. And I love Hughes. -
This team has needed to pump the brakes for awhile now - at a certain point the core needs to take the next step before we worry about adding. I wasn’t in favour of the OEL deal but now that it’s done, there’s no sense in blaming him and his contract for the team. Just like how when we finally got rid of Loui, Roussel and Beagle we didn’t magically get better. (And OEL and Garland’s play last year especially was miles better than them.) It’s a team thing. They need to buy in before anything gets better IMO. My point was more that if we weren’t paying OEL we’d likely have chased Klingberg or someone like him - and for a lot longer than 1 year. Teams generally don’t trade top 4 d men and in UFA they go to contenders or for a premium. I don’t disagree with this, but now that you have Garland and OEL it is what it is. They make the cap situation less flexible but they can play. The hope is (was) now that those two are locked in you move other pieces (Miller!) and look for value there.

So? See you in 5 years? They say the definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting a different result. What’s the word to match complaining about something that you have no control over and won’t change how many times you say it? We have no control over the contract and he’s probably about 2-3 mil overpaid right now. Klingberg just got 7 to play worse in Anaheim.
