  1. Agreed...the man has heart. Burr will rise again. He always does.
  2. That's just it, the cap space as I said is irrelevant. Who wants to sign in Vancouver right now? Booth was on the uptick. Was he worth the $4.5 mil? No. But it's not a given that cap space will be better used if they spend it on a FA. They will have to overpay for any FA to begin with, and probably give a long term. Does that fit with a team looking to get younger?
  3. But it's his last season of his contract anyway.
  4. Hmm Booth was improving finally. Why now? Prepare for tank mode. The Canucks aren't in a position to attract free agents. So the cap space means little. Maybe JB has started the process of chopping heads and going full rebuild. Hank and Dank don't want to be traded right now, as they feel they can win, but a couple more moves to gut this team and they might change their tune. It's a double edged sword right now. They either have to give up a lot of prospects and picks to get EK and try to compete, or go all in on a rebuild. I'm betting JB has decided a retool is too far too reach.
  5. If Canucks can trade Kes for Etem and 10th 24th overall then I see no need for any trades to move up or down. I'm flip flopping for NYlander here. If he's there at 6 you take him. I was onboard for Ritchie but there's an outside chance you snag him at 10, or else Virtanen. Or, maybe you can trade up from 10 to 8 which would be less expensive IMO. I am now convinced that Nylander has the potential to be the best in the draft. If he's off the board then MDC is ours anyway, maybe even Bennett if some crazy team bites on Ehlers. Six is actually a terrific spot to stay put at because this draft will be full of surprises. Even LD could fall.
  6. Can you post a video of Emilin administering a low bridge? I'd like to see if you even know what it means.
  7. Watching these playoffs, and past playoffs, it is clear to me that you need guys who can fight through the cluthing and grabbing. Because every year it gets worse earlier. Obviously you can point to Kane and JT and say that they are able to fight through it, but they are special players and I don't think any so called skilled players in this draft has their skill and compete level, and come next round it will be tougher against a big Pacific team. So despite some good arguments for NYlander and EHLers, I say Ritchie is the clear choice, you simply can't pass on that combination of size, quickness and shot, especially when you are rebuilding and will probably have a chance to snag some high end talent next draft.
  8. Yeah we all know tripping = poking the bear. If anything it shows how frustrated Chara is
  9. I'm sticking with Ritchie at 6. Toughness. Quickness. A killer array of shots. Play him on a different line than Kassian. That's 2 big, tough guys who can score. Two Lucic lights. The Canucks play in the Pacific. They need more redwoods.
  10. How come there were three first round game ones played tonight and penalties were almost even between 6 teams, with one team getting an extra 2 minutes? Follow up question. Were the Canucks that dirty against the Sharks last year?
  11. It's not about apologies...(I know you know that ) but this so called reporter is taking her editorial content straight off of CP....how can she call herself a journalist after that....??? From this day forward anytime anyone perpetuates a myth about the Canucks we should say thank you Kristen Odland.
  12. Hearing a lot of trash talk from Flames fans about the hit on Danny, Let me just say this, if those punks were spewing that shit in my presence they'd be picking up their chicklets. So tired of a Flames fans and their bullshit. They think whatever happens to the Canucks is karma for beating their sorry asses for 6 years. More than any fan base I hate flames fans. GO BACK TO THE FIRST PAGE OF THIS THREAD, I SAID I HOPE BOTH TEAMS ESCAPE INJURY FREE...WHY? Because I know that coach over there amd I know that team...I was worried for our players....
  13. Hoping for a big game from Kass and that nobody gets hurt on either side. Go Nuks....
  14. Blocked shots = fluke goals. If you trust your goalie, let him see the puck. We need d men that can box out the front of the net, not clog it up. I think Torts is a good guy, I don't agree with his system. Bye bye.
  15. Do these talking heads understand that Linden has a responsibility to his team first and foremost? Professionals have to lie all the time when representing their clients. Lawyers...damn straight. Even the press, when they go undercover, must tell lies to get a story. Police...OMG do they ever. Realtors...sometimes for their clients they must. The list goes on. This is the real world folks and Trevor is President of hockey ops in a media frenzied hockey market. This is just practice for the multitude of lies he will have to tell when the press asks him...are you planning on trading so and so? Do you think the team is playing good right now? The list goes on. It's the job of the GM and management to keep secrets. It's called doing his job.
  16. Trev will sort these press guys out. When you captain a hockey team filled with million dollar egos etc, dealing with a few windbags hacks is no big deal. They will either learn to play by his rules or access will dwindle. He will be cunning and cool about it too. They won't even see it coming, much like the militant NHLPA group,(klatt) got blindsided when Trevor saved hockey.
  17. Does he have a satellite phone built into his bike? Wonder how much weight he's gonna gain. Just kidding, class act gent all the way. Ran into him at Nishis restaurant one time, he signed an autograph for my mom after I told him she was a big fan, and then he stood there chatting with us for far too long. I see this as a personality makeover for the team.
  18. If it's Feaster I am done with this team Feaster won't sell tickets...just the opposite
  19. Wow... Not a fan of this move. Nicholson and Linden?
  20. If that was the case I would expect Linden to be unavailable for comment, as opposed to outright lying about it. TSN is an abomination. @coyotecanuck hearing Nonis to be fired today, hearing talk that Doug GIlmour to be GM. #amidoingitright?
  21. Nice rant...get it all out...now breath, breath....there ya go. So you wouldn't even keep Kassian? Mathias? Richardson. It was a bad season, I get that, but as fans we've been treated to an above average team that worked hard every night for the better party of six years. I believe the core, if they are given a better supporting cast, can be an elite team again. Youth is needed first and foremost to give this team a more creative look and a burst of enthusiasm and speed, and if,we give a youngster or two a true chance it will pay off. Also, I expect the twins will come back fit and hopefully make some adjustment to be ppg players again. ALL IS NOT LOST....
