  1. So yesterday the commissioner of the NFL announced the deal with the refs and he also apologized to the fans for the poor performance of the replacement officials, he also said he's a bit sorry for the Cleveland Browns

  2. You know the replacement refs are bad when Foot Locker sends out a press release on the matter: Foot Locker NFL Replacement Refs Do NOT Work For Us The NFL did NOT secretly hire black-and-white-striped Foot Locker employees to work as replacement referees ... despite all the terrible calls recently ... this according to the sneaker giant. Foot Locker just released a statement, saying, "Despite recent allegations, our employees have spent the last few weeks at our stores and not at NFL games.” It's all in response to a joke making the rounds on the Internet ... that the replacement refs are so bad, they must actually be Foot Locker employees.
  3. You know the NFL refs are bad when Foot Locker sends out a press release saying they didn't work for them

  4. It was a result that stupefied the football world. Last night in Seattle on the last play of the Monday night game between Green Bay and Seattle one of the most controversial calls in recent memory took centre stage. Was it an interception, a catch or simultaneous possession? The replacement refs could not figure it out, but PlayNow Sports will make it right with the REFEREE REFUND. If you placed a pre-game or live Money Line or Point Spread wager on Green Bay, on a bet slip that was graded a loss due to the outcome of the Green Bay –Seattle game, your wager will be refunded back to your PlayNow account as a Sports Freebet. If your Sports Action bet lost due to the result of the Green Bay-Seattle game, Sports Action will refund your bet, up to a maximum of $100, with a PlayNow Sports Freebet. To get your PlayNow Sports Freebet, you will need to email the ticket control number from your Sports Action ticket (the 20-digit code at the bottom of the ticket) and your PlayNow ID to sportsaction@bclc.com. Allow for two business days to process this request.
  5. when I originally posted my other comments it showed up unbolded, but when I returned later to look at the thread it was all bold. Not sure what has happened. edit: same thing has happened, come back and it is all in bold, must be a glitch.
  6. I've been trying to figure out the same thing. For a Union to cross a picket line, thats pretty low. Definitely not right for the players to do. I would never watch another NHL game again if they used replacement officials and the players crossed the picket lines.
  7. caught it right away, then again I've been watching TPB clips all day since I found out they are coming to Red Robinson Theatre on December 1st. http://www.cfox.com/ConcertCalendar/Details.aspx?ConcertID=170998

  10. This guy: http://www.bclions.com/roster/show/id/4353 Saw him kick in the preseason against Saskatchewan. Looked pretty good, nailed a 44 yarder with ease. As for McCallum, he has had a couple bad games but he is still pretty dependable when needed. BTW, McCallum is hitting at 77.8% while Whyte is only marginally better at 79.3%. Punting avg. is also within a couple yard of eachother.

  13. Why change what isn't broken? The Lions are 22-4 in their last 26 games. They won the Grey Cup and are heavy favorites again. Lulay has passed for a TD in 22 straight games and is having another all star season. They also won 3 out 0f 4 CFL weekly awards.
  14. Well if the CFL is garbage enough, please leave and don't let the door hit you on the way out. Local blackouts are nothing new. Blame TSN for the black screen, it has nothing to do with the CFL for showing nothing but a black screen. As for the Lions game, another slow start, but they got going in the second quarter. Brutal reffing yesterday. Ray was tossing the ball away to avoid sacks all game and was only called for it once. Brutal calls and non calls on pass interference penalty's. D got it done when they had too though. Another small crowd, but with 11,000 people at Stanley Park and the last official weekend of Summer, I guess it's to be expected.
  15. Extrememly disapointing, there were far less than the 29,734 that they posted. I was hoping for somewhere around 40,000 or so.
  16. ELIMIMIAN ARRIVES IN VANCOUVER AFTER BEING CUT BY BROWNS After being cut from the Cleveland Browns practice roster, former B.C. Lions linebacker Solomon Elimimian arrived back in Vancouver Monday night. Elimimian, who joined the Browns Sept. 1 after being cut by the Minnesota Vikings on Aug. 25, spent two seasons with the Lions before signing a two-year deal with the Vikings following the 2011 campaign. Head coach Mike Benevides was asked about his former linebacker on the TEAM 1040 radio: "He is certainly a BC Lion in terms of rights and all that stuff," Benevides said. "And obviously we know how good of a player he is and the more you can have great. But he has to go through that process, maybe there is someone else or another organization that has a need for his kind of player down there so we will wait and see." The 25-year-old has 10 days to catch on with another NFL club before his rights revert to the Lions. He was named the CFL's Most Outstanding Rookie in 2010 before posting 98 tackles with the Lions in 2011.
  17. Also on Saturday, former Lions linebacker Solomon Elimimian joined the Cleveland Browns' practice roster. http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=404324

  21. That's too bad, was really hoping to see him make the NFL. Played a pretty decent pre-season as well, unfortunate he had to head into it with a hamstring injury. Really don't think he got a fair look with the Vikings. Tough call with Bighill having a great season, but if Elimimian doesn't sign with another NFL team I would expect to see him playing in a Lions uniform sooner than later.
  22. Metallica was freakin AMAZING last night!! Looking forward to seeing it again Monday!

  23. Not really a big surprise, kinda surprised it took this long actually. ---------------------------------------------------- BLUE BOMBERS RELEASE COACH LAPOLICE; NAME BURKE REPLACEMENT WINNIPEG -- Paul LaPolice has paid the price for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers' losing season. The CFL team fired its head coach on Saturday and replaced him with defensive co-ordinator Tim Burke. The announcement comes a day after the Blue Bombers dropped 20-17 decision at home to the B.C. Lions to fall to 2-6 on the season, last in the overall standings. LaPolice was in his third season in Winnipeg and leaves the team with a 16-28 record. After taking over for the fired Mike Kelly after the 2009 season, the Bombers struggled to a league-low 4-14 record in 2010. But Winnipeg rebounded in a big way in 2011, winning the East Division with a 10-8 mark before losing 34-23 to B.C. in the Grey Cup. Just months after LaPolice was given a two-year contract extension, the Bombers stumbled out of the gates this season and went 0-4. Winnipeg didn't register its first win until a 23-22 home victory against the Edmonton Eskimos on July 26. LaPolice came to Winnipeg after three season in Saskatchewan, first as a receivers coach, then as offensive co-ordinator as the Riders went to the 2009 Grey Cup. He became Winnipeg's 28th head coach on Feb. 5, 2010. "This was an extremely difficult decision to make especially when dealing with the kind of quality individual as Paul is," Blue Bombers vice-president and general manager Joe Mack said in a statement. "As the season has progressed, and looking back on how we struggled throughout the second half of the year in 2011, we have become increasingly concerned with the direction of our club and felt this was in the best interest of our entire organization."
