  1. I hadn't heard of it from anyone else. Didn't know what it was.
  2. What about looking at heavy machine operator? I know some guys that make lots of money operating excavators and skid steers. I want to do it more. It's like getting to play in giant sand boxes with a mech-warriors.
  3. Listening to the radio today, doing my trade I switched to at 45 years old, and they were talking about this. Trade is in massive need. You are pushing in the right direction.
  4. Don't get me wrong. I find organised religion to be nothing more than, as you say...power. It is a means to control I find it funny in recent years that a lot of 'trucker/anti vax' types are religious...and they have the nerve to go on about freedom. Organised religion controls people like no other. They don't live even close to free. Look up sleep paralysis when you have time. I kept it to myself until my early 20's when I read about UBC studying it. I thought I might be crazy. It is a very supernatural experience and very, very scary. I actually have a little theory that a lot of Alien abduction stories are actually people that have had a sleep paralysis episodes. ( also know as waking paralysis) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleep_paralysis#:~:text=Sleep paralysis (plural%3A sleep paralyses, than a couple of minutes. Btw, one of the reasons i smoke pot before bed is to avoid this. Mary Jane helps me get proper, none crazy shut eye.
  5. Haha. Some of the deep sea creatures like the Bloody Belly Comb Jelly here kinda looks at old Ducky Bill and says....hold my beer.
  6. You gotta give me that one. I was singing his praises from the roof tops well before his epic rise.
  7. I don't think of it as god. I don't know if the universe has intelligent design behind it, but if it does it doesn't feel to me like the religions have even come close to it's understanding. To add to your questions, what made god? what was before the big bang? ....people have posted some you tube vids before when I asked that but at the end of the day infinity is mind melting. Can there be infinite (multi)universes? what is going on with quantum mechanics? modern science calls the 4th dimension time itself, 5th possibly being information (whatever that means). M ( string) theory suggests that we have 11 dimensions, with some of them being collapsed in the quantum field. All this goes way over my head. We live in a universe that is mostly made up of stuff we don't understand...dark matter and energy. We have information transfer that seems to not abide by any rules such as quantum entanglement / spooky action at a distance. As for your animal doodles...we might be all doodles? I mentioned earlier in this thread that the bible itself describes a simulation in my opinion. If there are different realms like heaven and hell, realms that we exist in and even have beings like angels, demons and a god...then where do we or our souls really exist? I have sleep paralysis. When I was a kid, they told me it was night terrors. When I am in that state, what I am experiencing is very real to me. Even without this condition, there is a reason we wake up from nightmares with our heart pounding, sweating and afraid. Our mind thought we were really there and the body reacts as such. I'm agnostic to put a term to it, I do feel that this dog and pony show is not the whole experience.
  8. This team is awesome. I haven't doubted them once this season, even during Green. This core group can roll with anyone in the league and is only going to flourish in the next few years. Go Nucks. You deserve it. Make history.
  9. Oh I agree on the bolded. Just teasing you about stating that the universe is indifferent. We simply don't know. We don't even know what the universe really is. You know I love this stuff. I was just thinking earlier about what you once posted in a status update regarding a question of if everything could be predestined. Although I doubt it and love the idea of free will, there is even a theory for that. Could the particles from the big bang be mathematically predicted if we had all the data? I think I used my rough thought of a rack of pool balls being broken when I commented in your status post. The break of the pool balls at the beginning of the game looks random but obviously if you had all the angles, force, environmental influence etc.. you would know exactly how every ball will react and would know where they will end up. That said, what we are learning about quantum mechanics shows that particles act in ways we don't understand...which adds more doubt to the thought of predestination.
  10. What a huge game and bigger statement by the team. Bo was out, yet JT didn't have to put the team on his back. Group effort. What a fun ride.
  11. I think you are right. But I found it a good read about some ideas on intelligent design and the equation needed for this universe in specific. It does pump up some bible folk. I mean we are talking in a sky fairy thread.
  12. That's what you get for being so pretty. I have one area where my lawns are nice. I fenced about 1/4 acre with some fruit trees. Keeps the deer out and a place that my dog can run....without chasing said deer. Lawn in there has been doing great. Until lately. My dog has taken to doing a little dig every time she does her herding run. She's a healer cross with lots of energy. I throw a stick and she turns it to a whole performance, including digging. Moral? Even domesticated fur babies can be the enemy.
  13. Smells like some already want to talk about trading Miller. You know the rules.... Wait till the PGT and then fill it with your nonsense.
  14. I'd only give you $5m per....maybe some incentive bonuses. But, you have to work on that attitude.
  15. Why are we starting at 7:30! Don't they know what time I get up in the morning? Go Nucks! ZZzzzzzzzzzzzz......
  16. I have been chipping away at a giant pile of wood on my property. At one point I thought I would just burn it where it is but it's too near trees for how big it is. So, for the last few weekends I have been driving my lawn tractor and trailer back and forth with loads of wood from the big pile to burn in my fire pit in the orchard. Now, this weekend I finally got it small enough to burn the rest in place. Under the heap is a massive old arbutus stump. Stands about 6ft tall and must be at least 8ft in circumference. Before I lit anything, I climbed on top of the stump to notice the centre had a hole. The tree must have been rotten on the inside which is why I imagine the previous owner cut down such a big tree. I walked above the hole and had a gander. I'm glad I didn't set it on fire... Lying on his back looking up at me, down in the hole of the stump, was a very cute Raccoon. He had on his face a look of ...'I think I'm screwed, you're standing over my only exit.' It looks like such a nice den, the entire stump is hollowed out. He just lay there, his hide out had be found. I think of how much chainsaw work I did around his lair for the last few weeks while he must have been sheltering in place. I was thinking about building a shed in that area, once I burnt the pile. Now, I will clean up the area, leave the stump and maybe put a little sign post on top stating 'Rocky's Place' Animals, taking care of animals makes me feel good.
  17. This is a good read. Science can't throw away intelligent design, in fact it makes things make more sense. I remember reading that even good old Albert Einstein had a few points about it. The Top Six Lines of Evidence for Intelligent Design https://www.discovery.org/a/sixfold-evidence-for-intelligent-design/ Part 2 has always stuck out for me...the fine tuning of the universe.
  18. You know I like anything with Brian Cox. Thanks. Did you ever watch Infinite Monkey Cage? Very good and fun program.
