  1. That's the internet. Occam's razor is getting pretty dull. I saw something about Chris wearing a pad on his face...I guess to suggest a protection from the hit? of course it was a manipulated image.
  2. Oh yeah. A hot spot for sure. My sis is looking at something up there to Air B&B. She just put an offer in on a 2 bedroom in VIc with the same plans, right in the inner harbour.
  3. It looked staged but I dont think it was. I'm sure someone would leak that type of info. Chris seemed to know Will was going to do something with his smirk as Will walked up, he even may have thought that Will is going to pretend to slap him or pretend rough him up. But it looked like a hard hit and Chris' reaction seemed genuine. I think this incident may have elevated Chris' career for the moment but the publicity that Will, Jada and the Oscars are receiving looks to be detrimental to their brands.
  4. Does Chris get more money from the increased prices? or are they re-sale, supply/demand? I don't know how ticketing works. But yes good for him, seems people are supporting him. I can see, again if he knew about her condition, admitting that the joke was in poor taste but I hope he defends his right to say it. Comedy and music(lyrics) are some of the arts that still allow close to free speech. The incident will be yesterdays news but the grinding out of our society will continue. A man's so called role, the struggle for women in this man's world, the impact on the black community like Kareem discussed. Violence, bullying, harm, status, free speech, gender roles, race. There is a reason this got a lot of attention, it's an onion, it has those layers.
  5. You hear right. Coombs is, farms, industrial and tourist stuff. They put their goats on the roof in that silly place. It's beautiful. Around Qualicum, Errington is good value in the area. But even a bit more north...the Island is going crazy with growth. I'm am, no kid, wearing a 'republic of vancouver island' t-shirt right now. We could be a country one day.
  6. I would look at anywhere central Island. Mostly because I know the areas and I am close, with resources. I have a few trades people in the fam including myself and could keep development costs down because of that. What I would actually like to do is go in on a large parcel with some of the family but that takes some planning and fair commitment.
  7. I'm an optimist and our record under BB makes me feel we are closer than some do.
  8. Nah. Good core. Biggest mistake by JB was not turfing Green. We have a good front office now. Tweaks in the off season. Cup within 3 years.
  9. They're a nice young couple that only planned to stay 2 years. Then covid hit, she lost her job...etc. Yep, I can be a bit of a softy but I like the thought that I helped these kids out a bit. Thanks for your input. I think you are on point. You know I have been in this thread for years saying to hold. Even when the tides looked to be turning, and I was right. But now, as you say, in the next couple years we could see some turbulence. I bought this place for $180k ....will be listing for around $700k. It's paid off, all cake but I will be looking at more than 100k in CG tax and fees etc.. It's a small two bedroom detached on a 1/4 acre with some war wounds but it is solid and is in the best hood in the area. Also has peak-a-boo water view. A few doors down is a empty lot at .45 acre and they want $699.
  10. Demko is a player on the team. Our PK is the pits, including the goal tender.
  11. It is sad. I really liked Unbreakable. Wish real Bruce was.
  12. I'm gonna list my rental property. I will feel bad for the renters. However, they have had it good...4 years at $1100 per month ( no increases) when most other comparable properties are double that at least. I've had it for about 15 years and I think it's time. I don't think the market is going to drop but then again my gut is telling me not to think and to listen to my instincts. Plus, it's paid off so I can do a lot with what I get. I might buy a small lot to develop one day or even look at a commercial unit.
  13. Warms my karate heart. https://www.bloodyelbow.com/2022/3/31/23004289/lyoto-machida-eyeing-karate-combat-stephen-thompson-after-georges-st-pierre-declined-ufc-mma-news Gotta start watching more of this. Reminds me of world combat league.
  14. @gurn 'Where are you now?' Miss you around these parts.
  15. I feel like that poster has given me a very hard time in this thread. She has asked what kind of man I am, in a fashion that felt like a put down. She asked for me to get my wife to read my comments...like, to check my work? are all women are the same and would share her view point? She mentioned her disgust of a bunch of guys talking about this incident. When I believe this accepted violence between 'men' is a very male issue that should be a thing of the past. In fact it feels like the 50's, a big tough male sticking up for his woman and attacking someone for words, a joke no less. She called it defending his wife's honour, I believe. I just want to say to all us guys on here, discussing this topic. The quality of a man is not size, muscles and violence. You don't have to act like Will. You don't have feel the need to physically act out even if you feel that classic pressure to live up to a perception of 'what kind of man you are' We are all human. Have empathy and understanding. Love and allow yourselves to be loved. Be honest which is the bravest trait. You will be a bigger man than someone like Will Smith could ever be.
  16. That's fair. At worst i think the joke was in bad taste even if Chris knew about the condition. It's just hair. Though i have pointed out Chris' doc about black women's hair culture. If you have seen the 'good hair' doc you might think it makes Jadas decision not to wig up even cooler. Heck, Will laughed at it. Does that make him a violent hypocrite ?
  17. So you are not taking him at his word. It's a bit of a thing for me. I like Chris but for him to lie about it is low. He is the victim here even if it was bad joke so if true, that he lied, that bothers me. Did you see the statement from Kareem? just thought about that regarding minorities. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nba/2022/03/29/kareem-abdul-jabbar-smiths-slap-perpetuated-stereotypes/7208765001/ I barely knew who Jada was before this. Wife had to remind me when she came up. So I also didn't know about her medical stuff.
  18. it's a shame people automatically assume that about bald women. I sorta got in trouble earlier for talking about my thoughts that they were pretty. I hear you. You think Chris is lying, could have just said that.
  19. I know. You know my one sis is a psychologist and the other a superintendent of our district's school board. Oh, and my wife works in the counselling office of a high school. I hear you. I hear the stories. Also, I think you tried to say something about me in there. I don't mind.
  20. Thanks for your response. I agree Will was wrong. As for the part I have quoted. Are you saying Chris is lying? Did he step over the line if he did not know about her condition?
  21. i was asking that poster in specific. However, are you sure no one thinks Will should have done it? Isn't he a husband defending his wife as one poster told me? Didn't say 'dont be sensitive..'. I said Chris claims he didn't know about the condition They can be sensitive. I'm sensitive. I'm glad i found the mats and rings to get stupid outbursts under control. We're talking about violent assault being worse than words. You agree. Even if Chris knew, and they are both being bullies.... The worst, most detrimental bullying to our society displayed was the physical assault that happened.
