  1. Thats a great combo of styles. I bet you had some fun, blood, sweat and tears. i lived in Vancouver for 20+ years. I was lucky to compete, train and rub elbows with some fantastic martial artists. I competed until I was 35. I miss it quite a bit. I'm getting older too. I don't train martial arts like I used to. I am more of a gym rat these days working on full body conditioning 6 days a week and loving it. That said, there is a little voice inside my head that wants to focus on grappling. I never competed in grappling, only trained it. There is a great bjj gym near by. I may find myself walking in there one day. I think it is an art that even at 47 I can potentially get my competitive urge satisfied. I know a fella that started doing tournaments at 58. If that day ever comes I will post my progress.
  2. Soda/drinks with sugar lost it's exemption in BC last year. I thought that was why.
  3. None of this exists, It's a simulation.
  4. Thanks, that's what I thought. I do remember when I ran some liquor stores, the reactions by people from out of province by our liquor tax. The PST (liquor tax) is 10%, I wonder if many realise that it's that high? A huge tax, but it makes sense for how much a drain on our health care the effects of alc has. Also add GST on top of that.
  5. Yup. No taste or smell for a couple days. I had every symptom my body could dream up, a new one every few days for two weeks. Hang in there champ. Anyone seen the new Azi Ansari 30 min club comedy show on Netflix? It's good. He talks about how we treat each other during this mess, misinformation and the influence of the almighty internet algorithms
  6. Talented driven people are just that, talented and driven. Classic martial arts would not directly convert to the modern day sport that is MMA, anymore. However, if the training and tech was available to some of the grandmasters some how. Why couldn't they be good in the cage? Kinda like, I never play the GOAT game as things are soo different as time goes by but if all things were considered equal, why couldnt the greats of one time be successful in another? If that makes sense? What types of martial arts have you trained?
  7. I agree with everything you have said here. 5 years is too long. This core is the right age with a few slightly older leaders. In the next couple years we could really be in the conversation, I also cant help but think of how desirable having 3 strong centers is. With the added bonus that EP is good on the wing, its even better. Those 3 players are not where i would look to make changes.
  8. I think you know, I would keep all three of our centers. I just dont know if his presence is as much as it used to be. He avoids criticism as we all love the guy as a person as well as a player. However, he doesn't seem to lead the charge much and is invisible at times. I could see the new mgmt group looking at all options besides Hughes and Demko.
  9. I think the idea of moving Bo is going to start to get more traction. The entire top6 was bungholy last night. Maybe EP is the only one that i cant see being potentially on the block. He has to hit less post and more back of the net though. Also, I know it was his fist game back but man did Pearson look slow.
  10. As JT's biggest supporter. Obviously I have to point out that slash was a very weak call.
  11. Dont know if I've mentioned but i think JT Miller is a good player.
  12. those would have been brave words a couple months ago. but you're right.
