I'm sure they do. I don't. We disagree on the idea that the majority don't really care. Especailly when you include all the other sweaters, besides the Pride one, that is now cancelled from players wearing them. The viewership is down for the NHL. This, and a few other issues make me think that trend will continue.

And it's not over. They could have made it worse. Now there is another back lash, one to the decision to ban the warm up jersey. There was no actual consequences to the players that refused right? Just court of public opinion. Teams/NHL should have stuck with what they thought was right. If it's a business decision, then imo I think they have now pissed off the majority of their buying public. Sometimes doing the right things is hard. But you do them because they are the right things to do. In time, hopefully those that have their non-inclusive beliefs put some thought into their reasoning. And/or the league, like many other orgs, puts what the players wear into their code of conduct. Then the players have their 'out' , they can simply say they didn't have a choice. I imagine that's what a vegan player would have to do if they play for the Millk sponsored Leafs. They don't get a choice.

Did any player that opted out get punished by their team or the league? From what I remember there was no consequences to the players that refused other than the court of public opinion. So, they did have a choice and the freedom to choose or am I remembering wrong? If I am right, it seems like just some padding and protecting of a minority stance for some daft reason.

What ever hapened to open weight catergories? Is it a sanctioning thing? There will be somewhere that it could be held. Seems like some early excuses to me... https://www.tmz.com/2023/06/23/weight-difference-size-elon-musk-mark-zuckerberg-mma-ufc-fight/ Our sources tell us the guys are still serious about fighting in an Octagon, and as the UFC president told us yesterday, he's absolutely down to put on the fight ... but, Zuckerberg's size disadvantage has become an issue. In fighting, size matters, a lot. Elon is 6'1", and reportedly weighs between 185 and 200 lbs. As for the Facebook founder, he's just 5'7", and reportedly weighs around 155 lbs. 1) No way Elon is under 200lbs 2) I just linked TMZ. I will now see myself out and go get some sunshine.

Remember Dana's faceslapping is only avaiable on Rumble live. His slapping of his wife however can be seen everywhere. Thanks for the reply EP. I've been watching since 82' too, when I emigrated to this great Country from England. I respect and agree with many things you point out but some of those points are what I fear. Losing part of what made hockey so great. NHL seemed to have more integrity than the other major leagues, but not so much anymore. I hear you about revenue but I hope they are careful. As Dana White-Privilege( yeah thats one of his nicknames) points out...it's a new world... but I hope they dont emulate his approach. I hope they are not chasing short term gain for long term pain.

It might be in poor taste. However, one of the worlds best comedy troupe's bread and butter, Monty Python, was mocking this subject. They actually helped me growing up realise how it all shouldn't be taken too seriously as it is made up. Not based in anything, at all. Fantasy. Not something to fear, other than some of the followers I suppose. I think people need to be open to discussion and try not to be so offended. For example, I just mentioned this the other day, I have beliefs that are actually based on science. Reality. I get mocked by many because I am a compassionate vegetarian. As in, even though I think it is a healthier diet, I do it because some animals that people eat are sentient. I don't get offended by the 'mmmm bacon' jokes. It revolts me as I always think it could be 'mmmm toddlers' for the reason that pigs feel, think, and are aware at the level of a 3 years old. Still, I'm part of this society so I wont just shut them down, or cancel their opinions over some jokes. I was thinking along these lines but don't know enough on the subject. https://www.reusethisbag.com/articles/the-truth-about-paper-bags#:~:text=Paper bags generate 70 more, costs more fuel per bag. Paper bags generate 70 more air pollutants than plastic. They generate 50 times more water pollutants than plastic. It takes 91 percent less energy to recycle a plastic bag than it does a paper bag. Paper bags are very thick, so shipping them costs more fuel per bag. Belgium and Ireland are doing something about that. Hope Canada considers the same. https://labour.ie/news/2023/03/09/ireland-must-follow-belgiums-lead-and-ban-gambling-ads/ https://www.irishtimes.com/ireland/2022/11/15/new-gambling-law-will-ban-all-social-media-advertising/ You think it's only my opinion? I don't think so, read the thread. Some people watch the warm ups at the Arena. I love seeing the team skate around in different unis. Did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed EP? It is not just my opinion that the league is going to shit. Viewership is down, they have ads all over the unis and helmets, the reffing seems worse than ever, the vitual ads take away from the home experience, the relentless gambling push is turning people off ( as I mentioned globally) and the league even gets chirped by chumps like Dana White. He's not wrong. You sure I'm just being meodramtic? come one man.

Elon often has tricks up his sleeve, has a background in martial arts and is way bigger. Not saying he would win but just cause Zuck has done some cuddle puddles doesn't mean too much. The age is a big issue though. It's a tough one to call. I dont think it happens. I think they might just be throwing a bone to Dana White for some distranction. UFC biggest star looks like he might not compete again (CM) and is facing yet another sexual assault charge. Also Jon Jones is talking about retirement after waiting 3 years to get to heavy weight.

It's a bit of a something burger. A vocal minority forced change based on make believe, fantasy stuff. It's 2023 for sky fairie's sake. We fans pay these players salaries. WE fans are the reason this league exists. The will of the vast majority should have some influence. Like any company, the NHL will have a code of conduct and policies. It needs to be updated and implemented. That said the league is going to shit. Sports betting and ads everywhere etc..

Its all for adoration. They obviously feel inadequate about their personas. I think this because if they have beef or just wanted to test themselves they could do it in a private gym. It would make a lot of money but they don't need it. It would be awful to watch....two mma rookies, one that is 52 yrs old, ugh.

Did you see my link? Elon has training. I doubt he has trained for a while but if what he is telling JRE is true.. Karate, Taekwondo, Judo, BJJ. ..I still take Elon even at his age. He's a lot bigger and you dont forget how to throw a punch. Judo really plays well with size and even basic bjj can be used for good defense if you do end up on the ground. I would not advise him to be throwing any fruity TKD kicks though. haha. I dont think he is an easy meal for little Mark. Which is why he is thinking about it, I bet.
-
Thats gonna hit'em in the pocket books. Which makes me think they will return one day once the employee's code of conduct and/or a strategy is ironed out. If the league had any foresight they could have avoided this. So, I'll go ahead and blame the league along with those that want no part of inclusion. Mostly the sky fairy clowns that have been hurting this world for a long time Edit: wait, they didn't say they were scrapping the specailty nights. My bad. They will still make their coin. The players just wont do the warm up sweaters. Ok, then. Whatever. What a sensitive, canceling world.
-
Haha. Thats bold. I've watched a bit of his bjj. Hope his has gotten a lot better. You're right about the age but 5'7 165lbs? vs 6'2 200+lbs....I dunno. What if Zuck cant get Elon down? If I'm Musk I am simply working on take down defense, sprawl a bit. Then, with the girth advantage, I would advise Musk to wall and stall, lay his weight on Mark and dirty box the little fella. Zuck's chin looks like glass to me. Edit: I also do have great respect for Kyokushin karate. It's not one of the 4 major styles but It's known as the peoples karate and I believe it's the most popular in Japan. Very tough stuff. Very hard training. It's one of the styles Elon trained. Karate and Judo compliment each other very well. Mix in some BJJ and you're getting there... Elon's side... https://blackbeltmag.com/elon-musk-martial-arts

No way it happens. They just are realising that you cant buy cool, so they are seeing if this will fill the hollow empty feelings. If it did happen, which it wont, but if it did... Elon's walrus technique would probably work. He is soo much bigger than Zuck. I bet with a month of some TDD and basic grappling, he will just donkey kong smash Mark. That said, it might depend on how much influnce they have on the ref. Zuck has experience in that as seen at his first bjj comp.

Yep. Players have plenty of influences on why they play where they do, besides just money. Even though Brock is pricey, It might be in the teams best interest to re-sign Petey before doing anything. Maybe he signs for just a touch less if he thinks he gets to be around friends? Which would in a way mitigate the price tag on Brock a bit.
