  1. Herd immunity strategies called into question after coronavirus antibody study in Spain https://www.cnbc.com/2020/07/07/herd-immunity-questioned-after-spanish-coronavirus-antibody-study.html Bad results for those touting herd immunity. Oh and apparently it's airborne too...
  2. They are. I feel bad for some of the businesses, Clubs may be douchebag culture for the most part but some are decent, focusing on music. A lot of the pubs have developed a cool bar culture focusing on craft beer and good food. That one with the covid case is the Belmont, that and the Colony across the street are in a Barcade style. Fun places to go with all the oldschool games. Colony even has indoor bocce ball.
  3. That bar is located right on the Granville strip too. Entertainment district. Surrounded by a lot of other bars and clubs.
  4. When I first met my wife she had a Mini Lop named B-fly. He was full of personality, lived with us in a bachelor apt. Your little bun looks beautiful, I know you had great years together because over time I have read your posts and know that you are great person. Take some deep breaths. You know bun had to leave before you, most pets have that heartbreaking life span. I'm sorry for your loss Deb.
  5. Umm. I don't like that it is a 'surprise' comet. I hope for a day when they don't surprise us. I'd love to view it though.
  6. I'd like to see a study on the psychological reasons for not wanting to wear a mask. My guess is it is insecurity. People likely don't feel comfortable not knowing what face a stranger might be making at them. We communicate soo much more than with just words. I obviously support wearing masks but I am curious about the push back. One small story to back up my thought. My best friend, a real good dude was at a Canucks game. He was in a bad mood and found that a guy sitting close by was snarling and looking angry every time he glanced over. After a while and some internal assumptions my friend called him out. "what are you looking at? do we need to have a talk!" My buddies heart sank as he realised he had now scared a mentally challenged person. The guy wasn't making faces, he was just trying to enjoy a hockey game. That was ruined. I said, my friend was a good guy... He apologised and now tells that story as a warning to hot head losers like he was that day.
  7. Hey 2020. Will the Zombies be those dumb-ass slow moving dudes that mutter about brains? or the aggressive fast mofos that even Brad Pitt has a hard time dealing with? Officials warn residents after case of brain-destroying amoeba found in Florida https://globalnews.ca/news/7140581/brain-destroying-amoeba-florida/
  8. Got the reply.. They are turning the clubs into essentially lounges. 6 people per table, proper distancing, no moving around, no dancing...
  9. Someone said "off with his head!" That's what happened.
  10. I just sent a text. Worked with that fam for 25 years. I looked at the celebs site and it looks like private bookings or something? no walk ins....I 'm now curious about their other nightclubs and potential opening. I agree on both your view of clubs and Jake!
  11. Celebs is open? I am close with the owners, I thought they had shut down the entertainment side of Blueprint. They were saying they had to wait till phase 4? Maybe I'll blast off a text, I haven't chatted with them much since moving the Island Edit: my guess is Brandis etc have an old 'Cabaret license' ( enough seating per patron) this might put them in a similar class to pubs?
  12. More and more I hear people saying stuff like ' we will have to live with it, were all going to get it at some point, more people will die from the economy falling" We're slipping into a society that doesn't care about our most vulnerable and may go even further to a society that doesn't care about their neighbours if they get in the way of getting back to so called normal. I don't want to live in that society. Will it one day be like Logan's Run? we will only keep the optimal people at the optimal age?
  13. ..and now Giblet got the Corona. Fight off.
  14. No I haven't. Do you mean they have changed since the boycott?
  15. Oh man, that is awful. I understand your comment now, and I agree.
  16. I don't know anything about him. What was the context? was he pressured to commit suicide? It doesn't say much in the article. I just came across the story and thought the gathering of avatars was touching.
  17. Very sad but what a touching tribute. Thousands of video game players gather as their avatars for virtual vigil inside World of Warcraft cathedral after beloved Twitch streamer Byron ‘Reckful' Bernstein, 31, 'commits suicide' https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8485121/Beloved-Twitch-streamer-Byron-Reckful-Bernstein-31-dies-suicide.html Reminds me of the book./movie Ready Player One with all the avatars gathering.
  18. Agreed. @BoKnows supporting the Russians! Conspiracy confirmed.
  19. Meh, that's the Speak Easy on Granville. That is about as busy as it gets at the best of times.
