  1. Yes my mums step brother is fighting it, I know him well. His friend and wife have it too. I don't know them personally. The wife is in a induced coma from it. My mum's close friends lost their 45 year old daughter to it.
  2. wow, haha. I just wondered about this in the Trump thread, regarding a potential counter medical worker protest. Thanks for posting/
  3. Burned homes? Could be more casualties? They are saying 'at least' 19 dead Sad stuff.
  4. Even more off-track...but man does that Oppenheimer situation suck. So much crime coming out of there and the city vs park board dance is a disgrace. Really makes me angry. Up until a few years back it used to be beautiful. We used to do a yearly karate demo during Japanese Powell Street fest. Kids would be playing, families enjoying the park. On-track, yes they need to charge those in possession of illegal fire arms severely.
  5. Eww, yuck. https://www.mmanytt.com/latest-news/ufc-fight-island-rumoured-to-have-been-owned-by-jeffrey-epstein/ Source is B Shaub though , so...
  6. Maybe it shouldn't be called anything political anymore. Just label it hate, regardless of sides. As the article I posted to bump this thread, it mentioned a kid that is 13 promoting the idea to hurt and kill people tied to some outdated ideology. So it seems that there are real weaponized words available to any that look to find them on in this, too much misinformation age.
  7. I just wanted to know whats worse for the environment in the actual proposed comparison. I have heard decommissioned wells can cause a lot of contamination and there is 155,000 in AB alone. So even if one well isn't as bad as one pond ( I don't know), the sheer amount of wells is staggering.
  8. Did you read the early part of the convo? or did you sleep through that? I was just making a light jab about what actually happened. My next post clarified that I love Vancouver, cause I do and even pointed out that how the team was treated could have been the motivation that they needed for victory. Heres an article for you, saying exactly that. https://thetyee.ca/Life/2012/09/08/1972-Summit-Series/
  9. So simply put, you are saying that the potential environmental damage that all the spent wells could cause is less than the current tailing ponds and lumber clean up. Thank you for your answer.
  10. If someone has problems with the other people in this world, so much that they want to kill... Why can't they start with themselves and work their way out?
  11. How awful, I don't understand the details yet. He seemed to be mobile, killings spread out. He had a fake cruiser and RCMP Uni? Wish they hadn't killed him, I would like these types kept alive to endure suffering and pain for the rest of their incarcerated miserable life. Death is the easy way out.
  12. I don't understand? We were talking about '72. For 2010 I GM'd a nightclub on Granville. We also opened in the day times to air all the team Canada hockey games. Packed in 500+ patrons per game and helped give them the party of their lives. We were a part of what made Van soo great during that event. You're welcome Canada. One of the best experiences I've ever been part of..
  13. Vancouver is the best city on the planet. In fact the way team Canada was treated by Vancouver fans could have given the team the motivation they needed.
  14. I asked Ryan this. Are the potential environmental impacts of the tailing ponds and logging clean ups comparable to all the spent Wells? If you google how many spend Wells there are, you will understand why I ask this question. It is an honest question too, not being silly. Just wondering if they are comparable? otherwise is it like comparing a pinch to a punch?
  15. Hopefully we can host it in Van again so we can show team Canada the tremendous support we did in '72
  16. I know its hard. You'll get there, keep your head down and eye on the ball. It's the number one tip. Just cause that POTUS turd likes the game, that's not golf's fault.
  17. I totally understand and agree that life is more important than the economy ( and not talking about 'growing' economies but them crashing). Here's the 'but'.. But, I have a concern regarding collapsing economies. Currently there are Locust swarms taking out crops...the worst in a generation spreading across Africa. The Covid crisis has affected the resources that usually go toward fighting these swarms so much that it is putting the food security of millions at risk. How many will die from hunger? whats the trade off vs covid? I don't have the answers and as I stated, I agree with the global approach so far. I just don't know if I'm correct....
  18. I know. Was just wondering if the potential environmental impact of the tailing ponds and logging clean up was comparable in estimation to the 155,000 spent wells in AB? Do you know the answer? or are you just pointing out perceived hypocrisy to the poster you responded to?
  19. they are opening some golf courses here on the Island. Love golf but I don't know what to think about that. Not sure if it's not a bit too soon.
  20. Interesting question. I just used this here computer device to search the amount of tailing ponds in BC ...120. I couldn't find info on logging site clean ups. Anyway, are they comparable in environmental damage that the 155,000 wells that no longer produce oil can have? The google machine said the clean up could cost 8bil.
  21. Through the years of this circular convo I often wonder why some don't understand this. I would have thought the gripe would be removing the non renewable resource to the calculations. I know Kenny pushed for this a couple years ago and it wouldn't change the amount of equalisation payments. However, it might look more fair in AB's eyes as I believe they get treated different when it comes to NRR?
  22. Raise of the Far right in Europe. If he's too young to charge but has had this much influence, charge the damn parents. Ugh, and I've moaned about this before.....unsupervised access to the internet for developing minds is soo F'n bad. Neo-Nazi ‘commander’ unmasked as 13-year-old kid in Estonia https://globalnews.ca/news/6831754/neo-nazi-commander-13/
  23. Oh yeah, I'm thinking Ryan is now completely satisfied with Trudeau. 100% I assume he will be back on here saying let bygones be bygones. He's probably trying to fashion his hair just like JT's right now, so that is probably why he hasn't responded.
  24. I'm imagining we are on an elevated tee box, I think I can see the flag. I'm going with the hybrid, I don't want to over shoot the green and hit one of those nice white buildings. Is this a par 4? What a nice view. I'm really missing golf now.
