  1. I'm a forward thinker Alf.. And I watched a minute or two of the DeathRace movie the other night
  2. This would be a perfect opportunity to do a Mantracker style challenge tv show. Get a sponsor to put up some big cash prize. Release a bunch of two person teams of special forces military to compete from around the world into the Manitoba bush. They could live stream it a'la The Running Man or Hunger Games. Even do some sport betting on which team will tag and bag these creeps first.
  3. I think everyone gets that the climate is always changing. The question is how much the current humans are affecting this cycle. These dudes are on the other side of the fence from your beliefs. I their guess data only goes back 2000 years though. https://www.nbcnews.com/mach/science/climate-scientists-drive-stake-through-heart-skeptics-argument-ncna1033646 Global warming skeptics sometimes say rising temperatures are just another naturally occurring shift in Earth’s climate, like the Medieval Warm Period of the years 800 to 1200 or the Little Ice Age, a period of cooling that spanned from roughly 1300 to 1850. But a pair of studies published Wednesday provides stark evidence that the rise in global temperatures over the past 150 years has been far more rapid and widespread than any warming period in the past 2,000 years — a finding that undercuts claims that today’s global warming isn’t necessarily the result of human activity.
  4. Wow, that sounds spooky. The Mysterious Universe guys love Bigfoot stories. They were going on not too long ago about how a lot of sightings/ experiences are also accompanied by glowing orbs for some reason. Obviously the big fella is an inter-dimensional alien.
  5. I've heard some Owls can sound like a crazy human cry
  6. Some parents just can never see their kids in a bad light I guess
  7. I've been listening to this pod cast for years. It's a couple Aussies that like to review out there books and talk of unusual, often silly things Anyway, they have had a few episodes on it. Missing 411
  8. so they DO think of themselves as survivalists... just got emailed this .. On Monday, when McLeod and Schmegelsky were still considered missing — one day before the RCMP declared them to be the primary suspects — Schmegelsky's father, Alan, told CHEK News the men considered themselves survivalists. He said they "liked to go into the woods and play war" and were trained in camouflage. "If there's any hope that Bryer and Kam are alive, it's because they … would have gone into the woods and they know how to hide, because they've been doing this for the last 2½ years," he said, adding, "They're non-violent, they're good people. Never got in trouble or anything."
  9. cool, I want to watch this later. Heard a lot about the books... Some of the theories get pretty out there, but some of the circumstances are really strange Its eye opening how many healthy strong people just vanish.
  10. I hear the concerns about small towns etc.. I toured the country 6 times in a Van. Spent many a night in scary spots but it was with a band, so at least we had numbers. The yearly Maclean's list of most dangerous places always has a high percentage of more remote places being rougher than the cities like one might expect. I lived from age 8-18 on the Island, small town. We were always concerned as teenagers when going to other areas. For us it was Duncan and Port Alberni that seemed to try to fight us on sight. We were from district 69 though so maybe they were just jealous.
  11. Follow up confirmation texts for appointments. If it was a text saying something like ' Just a reminder, you have an appointment scheduled' But I don't like when I have already booked an appointment, then I get a text not only reminding me but asking for me to text 'yes' or 'no' back to them. My car service centre does this, I already booked the appointment, if I don't respond with 'yes' to the follow up text is the booking now cancelled? My hair dresser has started doing it too, I don't respond to hers. I just show up when I said I would. I bought all new kitchen appliances from Best Buy last month, got them delivered and installed....good god, I swear I got about 10 confirmation scheduling texts ( at all hours) along with about 5 robo confirmation calls. Actually the prices were great from Best Buy but I will be hesitant to shop there again due to these annoyances.
  12. When Facebook came out and people started realising that everything you post becomes their property. I was stunned that so many just kept joining up anyway. Then the privacy issues and info manipulation (Fake News!)...yet still a lot of folks, including those that claim to hate FB and prattle on about it, still use it this day. I don't get it, never have.
  13. Both options, in 2 months...one is still alive..the creepier camo kid. He has resorted to cannibalising his friend ( I know cannibal when I see one!) They are found when the father finally tells the cops that he once camped at some remote small lake in Northern Manitoba when his kid was young. The movie makes millions.
  14. If they don't find them soon, this could be a while. They don't seem to be turning out to be the screen addicted youth that many on here predicted. Low social media presence. They are close friends. They know how to steal cars, kill (obviously) and seem to have a destination that at least one is familiar with. These twisted nuts must have planned this to some extent...will they be found frozen in the wilderness in a few months? Hope I'm wrong, I wan't them found soon, then I hope they try to unsuccessfully run. The cops can save us tax paying dollars and remove them from this earth.
  15. oh are they? wife was just talking talking about helicopter infrared in regards to tracking them .....she should have been a cop
  16. that would be quite the interesting twist to think about.... this thingy really is shaping up to be a future movie bean. poles. If it wasn't summer they might not be as noticeable, big jackets etc. but two young dudes at 6'4 kinda stand out anyway. I bet they're gonna make a go of it in the woods. It's their only choice. I think we might hear some stories about them as this unfolds. On the news earlier they were saying that a kid has come forward with a story of one of them trying to lure him into the woods not too long ago ...he was freaked out.
  17. uh oh, Does that mean they are the last generation? cause they are the last letter in the alphabet? I knew it, the end is nigh!
  18. I used to spar a buddy that competed in Mauy Thai. Not unlike a lot of these types of kick boxers he was in silly good shape. He could go forever. It was very common for me to sprint out of the ring to the nearby washroom after about round 3. My goal was always to make it back before the bell for the next round started. I had pretty good cardio but sometimes you do different exercises, maybe hold your breathe a bit...push yourself too hard. I really miss those days despite the pain and puking. He had access to a top tier MMA gym, so we would go there at 10:30pm after their classes and train into the wee hours of the morn. Good stuff!
  19. "When you're 19, with jobs available on the island".....this is what my wife was saying this morning...she then proclaimed "holy crap, they did it!" I realised two things. -This is why I don't keep secrets from her -She really does learn something from all those boring Brit murder mysteries she PVR's.
  20. RCMP is having a presser at 2pm today. Someone saw the couple with a third person and things 'didn't seem right' She is being interviewed by a sketch artist and she also saw another vehicle i believe.
  21. The Pacific Northwest has always produced a high amount of serial killers. Obviously hope this is not what we are experiencing.
  22. His comments about the Monolith on Phobos got people talking but that's likely just because of who he is. Don't think he knows more than anyone else viewing the photos. It stands 90 metres tall but is very likely natural, even though quite unusual. There's a thread about the book 'UFO's" by Leslie Kean - worthwhile checking out if you haven't already. The book is great, filled with accounts by 'Generals, Pilots, and Government Officials' https://www.amazon.ca/UFOs-Generals-Pilots-Government-Officials/dp/0307717089
