What a showing by Max. Incredible. Man is Ortega a tough kid, that was a great fight.
-
She managed to get a publication ban for now, but thats about it. i'm sure some press will challenge Agree, cant see her getting bail at all.
-
Meng Wanzhou bail hearing at court house DT. Is what I'm guessing, lots of reporters this morn/

I don't agree with any self medicating if that's what you mean. Mental illnesses are being treated with psychedelics though. Seems to be different ones for different issues. https://www.livescience.com/63310-psychedelic-drugs-mental-health-disorders.html Ketamine is being used for Bi-polar, or some are micro dosing LSD or Psilocybin. Here's a story of a guy that micro does Psilocybin and Cannabis ( self medicated though!...but a few years back, so maybe he can be forgiven..maybe he should inquire about Ketamine) https://maps.org/research-archive/psilo/Cannabis-and-Psilocybin-for-Bipolar-Disorder.pdf As the good HerrDrFunk pointed out PTSD...and some other conditions are using Psilocybin. Another article on psychedelics and mental health. https://www.bbc.com/news/health-44575139 @aGENT...thanks man, I will watch that. I saw the DMT film by Joe Rogan a while back, really enjoyed it. Ok, Ill leave this thread alone, It's supposed to be just about weed

Psilocybin for the Masses: Oregon Considering Legalizing Mushrooms https://www.rollingstone.com/culture/culture-news/psychedelic-psilocybin-legalizing-mushrooms-oregon-763032/ Didn't want to start a new thread. Glad the stigma is getting cleared away about some of these type of drugs. They are getting remarkable results. Years ago a man I consider a friend had to spend some time in the UBC Psych ward. He has battled with Bi-Polar his entire life. He is also brilliant. Well before any of this research and discussion ( 6 years ago) was hitting the main stream, he was talking to me about it. He was so angry that the Dr's out at UBC wouldn't listen to him as he tried to explain to them that this is part of the field they should look at. He told me what he understands about how the brain works. He wasn't looking to get high, he didn't know if this was something for him. He just wanted to know what level of understanding these doctors were at. In his state, he just thought they don't care and are not trying to learn anything! I type that stuff because I didn't believe him, I didn't listen. I lectured him, told him he doesn't have degree and they know more than him. I told him he was ridiculous. I was wrong. I don't know where he has ended up. I am sorry CM.

Book: UFOs by Leslie Kean - NY Times Bestseller
bishopshodan replied to Kanukfanatic's topic in Off-Topic General
Hey, another silly UFO link from the good bishop. This one is pretty cool, I guess FOX and a few others sensationalized it at first getting everyone excited but these links calm it down a bit.. On this topic I think of the meme/jokes....'oh you can believe in God and Angels and Demons, but I say Aliens and I get looked at like I'm crazy.' Aliens exist, no doubt. Have they been here, who knows? However, maybe its time to look at it in a bit less ignorant fashion? Yes, a NASA Scientist Said Aliens May Have Visited Earth. But There’s Some Nuance https://futurism.com/nasa-scientist-aliens-visited-earth-nuance Here's the Truth Behind a NASA Document on Aliens Visiting Earth https://www.livescience.com/64237-nasa-aliens-fox-news.html So, really nothing new except that more and more scientists are looking into it. It's a fun time to be alive as the subject is being taken more seriously. I mean the Pentagon literally released footage of F-18's chasing something they can't explain that was out maneuvering the jets. And the world collective went....'hmm, anyway back to talking about Trump etc...' Even if we find just something small like a Tardigrade out there, as long as it didn't originate here on earth, I will do back flips. -
Well Robert Wiener should go over and have a talk with that youngster about his lifestyle. Wiener said he eats well and exercises every day. “A half hour on the bicycle every day. When I was young, I played all the sports,” he said. https://montreal.ctvnews.ca/at-110-westmount-s-robert-wiener-is-canada-s-oldest-man-1.4166260 Actually, he says it's mostly in the genes, his bro lived to 109

Not yet, but maybe down the road. I'm hearing that One is getting a big fan base and have deep pockets. The UFC loves money over it's own sports integrity....as In, the ranking's don't matter and it's more important for the competitors to 'move the needle'...Prize fighting is the name of the game still. If it makes dollars...it could make sense.
-
I know... too much!! Unfortunate for RDA last night. He's one of the fighters that would fit nice in a 165lbs div. Would love Mark and JDS to get the wins tonight... tough tasks. Poirier and McG getting some chatter. I think Dustin puts it on him this time.... still I should not disrespect that left bomb, could be a great rematch. This is cool, Hope these things happen more. Would love to see a One vs UFC too. Bellator announced on Thursday that their bantamweight champion Darrion Caldwell will be facing off against Rizin’s 135lb king Kyoji Horiguchi for the Japanese promotions’ bantamweight belt. http://www.punditarena.com/mma/oisinmcqueirns2758/bellator-champ-caldwell-face-rizin-champ-horiguchi-super-fight/

They're talking him vs Cowboy next. I don't know why, but my guess is to get McG a win. Cowboy is Dana's dream, fights whenever called upon without moaning. I don't want to see that fight but if they do it I'm sure the media releases will make Cowboy look like he's a top fighter twice the size of the Irish man. I don't know what should be next for Conor. Kavanagh, his coach, says he hasn't see him since UFC 229. He always has the 3rd Nate fight waiting but if he loses, his stock goes way down. He would likely lose to Tferg and that fight might not generate as much $ anyway. I can't see him doing any better against Khabib in a rematch. Crazy but...maybe he will try for a GSP fight? he doesn't have a chance imo yet even with a likely loss, he would be admired for trying in the first place and could keep the money train rolling. Maybe a dumb Paulie boxing match? that's a bit of a story...
-
I've only seen him a bit but his rep is that of one of the best wrasslin' dudes out there. I'm hoping for a Lawler win, we know he hits like a truck and he is very good at stuffing take downs. But I have a good feeling I will be disappointed, kinda going with heart not my gut or brain here. I'm with HI5 , McGregor showed us what he can do against a top tier undefeated ground guy in Khabib. Can't see him wanting another in Askren, though the trash talk could be gold.
-
Askren vs Lawler. Who you got?
-
Silva in his prime and this would be an amazing contest..but he's not...so it won't be. You could ask that of a lot of sports these days...the UFC has made some big strides since the early days in this regard. You mention a Battle Royal, a event from that pretend world of wrestling. I grew up on the stuff but now that I am older I would rather have my children watch real fighting contests than the influence and ideals that an org like the WWE portrays. Do some research in the kind of drug abuse that those athletes take part in. I remember Brock Lesnar once saying something like his diet was 'Vicodin and vodka'. He obviously abuses steroids too, a lot. Was busted and suspended after his last MMA fight, driving his opponent crazy. His opponent was the legendary Mark Hunt, google him and have a look weather you think Mark has touched any PED's. Speaking of body types. Currently, the two largest divisions that the UFC has which is light heavy and heavy weight, the divisions that you would expect to see the most steroid abuse are ruled by this man...Double Champ Daniel Cormier https://mmajunkie.com/2018/08/ufc-champ-daniel-cormier-boasts-drug-testing-record-usada .Please click on that link my Alien friend and see what he is boasting about. Also have a gander at his potato-esq physique. I obviously like to talk about this subject. You are right about the abuse out there in fighting. However, I wanted to highlight that MMA fighters are probably better role models than WWE stars for the young kids. Also, I do believe the UFC maybe on the decline but the other orgs are taking up the slack big time. One Championship and Bellator are becoming very big. There are also half a dozen mid sized companies popping up around the globe. About time! Yuck, I knew I didn't need to watch it live. Just saw the replay. Chuck was trying the same cocked right hand distance game he used so well ages ago. However this time he was at half speed with a look of dread in his eyes. His chin left for vacation about 10 years ago too and has not returned. Sad to watch. Was there any good fights on the card? I was too busy dancing a jig watching the Nucks beat the Kings. I think they should do it but in a smaller organisation or at least the under card. Do not want to see a main card spot taken up by garbage fighters anymore. My money would be on the Green Ranger. He called out Van Damme at a Comic-con not to long ago too. hahaha https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xy3KGBcm-pI

Actually, come to think of it. I could sit through 'Sound of Music' anytime too. Guess I'm not as tough as I thought...I can have a sing song now and again.
-
Grease is the only musical I can stomach. You're right, grew up hearing mum singing it. I'm surprised you avoided it for so long. It's a must see for a movie buff, otherwise you miss all the pop culture references. Just last week Carrell mocked the 'Beauty School Drop Out' song on SNL, was pretty funny.

I did not expect this. Wow Spider, good luck you fearless old man. Anderson Silva will return to the octagon at February’s UFC 234 event against Israel Adesanya https://www.bjpenn.com/mma-news/ufc/breaking-anderson-silva-will-return-to-the-octagon-at-februarys-ufc-234-event-against-israel-adesanya/ Edit: I'm starting to think...I don't know if this fight even happens. They offered Stylebender the back up job for the Whittaker vs. Gastelum fight. He turned it down, they were offering 56k( I think) maybe that was not enough to do a training camp for just a potential injury. Now he's booked on the same card. So he would get a good fight either way.... I can see an injury to one of the headliners, Israel steps up? probably for a nice paycheck.
-
..and Re: Ortiz vs Liddell. I just hope the two old men have fun out there later tonight. Make some money and don't get injured. Silly rabbits.

@The Arrogant Worms thank you for posting those lyrics. I miss my dad. He was my best friend. We had a lot of plans but ALS had plans of its own. Thanks again,

I actually got up and watched the last four fights. First time seeing both Chinese fighters, they were impressive and put on a show for the home crowd. I liked Song Yadong and not just for the great name. Think they said he trained in a Shaolin temple for a while. Anyway , through my sleepy eyes he was sharp, flighty and in hella good shape. Reem looked strong or his opponent was scared, not sure. Pavlovich looked clunky and had an early night due to some really heavy shots ( you could hear the impact) on the ground from Alistair. Ngannou has the hardest recorded tested punch on the planet. He clubbed Blaydes with a right, just behind the ear and Blaydes couldn't recover before more bombs chased him down. To bad, was hoping for more of a tilt. Curtis is a good competitor.

Gave a couple mgrs the day off to watch at the pub. They were looking forward to it. -
It's in China. It will air at 3:30am our time. The Fight Network is showing it but I'm not sure about any other channels. I'm sure you will be able to find a stream. That's an early rise though, put the coffee on!

Another study to show what we already know. Canadians are more polite on Twitter, Americans more negative — study looked at 40M tweets It seems the stereotype that Canadians tend to be more positive and polite than Americans is true — at least when it comes to language use on Twitter. Sorry! A new study published by McMaster University researchers Wednesday analyzed nearly 40 million tweets from both countries including some from Donald Trump during his campaign to become President. While the team found the vast majority (99.66 per cent) of words, emojis and emoticons were not drastically different, a list of words which were typed out most disproportionately by Twitter users in Canada and our neighbours to the south shows a distinct difference in tone. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/hamilton/mcmaster-linguistics-twitter-u-s-canada-trump-1.4915955

I have seen this once before I have felt these colors I have known you for so long When we ran in circles For our sake I will wait for you I walk alone, into the darkness I came toe to toe and face to face with the beast He knew me by my name, it was surprising He knew everything about me that I despised I have seen this once before I have felt these colors I have known you for so long When we ran in circles He had gold, He had silver He had all the women and wine that you'll ever need Just one thing, a prick of your finger Spell your name in the sand and do it with your own blood Bitten by the fangs of circumstance Outward light a reflection We are all evil Underneath the slab of material Mutable ways of my fortune Bitten by my fangs Gave me a smile Gave me a whisper Lay me down in linens To watch me sleep I played the fool I played the sinner I played the part of me that no one wanted to see

Oh boy, I guess we watch them huff and puff. Then lay bets on who goes into cardiac arrest first?
