  1. As my user name implies, I am a black belt of the good old 'empty-hand' So, I cannot wait for this...the trailer had me giggling quite a bit. Its the same two dudes! 34 years later! Haha
  2. Noon update. I made if out, headed to higher ground. Now at one of the companies locations near this lovely side street in kits. I give all full permission for all to have spiked hot chocolates this evening while wearing your PJ's... as you watch our lovely Canucks knock off the top team in the league!
  3. From my office in Gastown. I don't think were gonna make it. . I love you all CDC.
  4. At least 2cm on the ground DT. SHUT DOWN THE CITY!!!! RING THE SIREN! TAKE COVER!
  5. Millions of little 'willow the wisps' here in dt. Annoying on the eyes as its a swirly mess but nothing really sticking on the ground.
  6. ahh India, You know they still hunt witches there? serious, google it! Anyway, whats this thread about? right JT. He can box , I remember that. Maybe when all these folks keep implying he's a wuss he can do the old school yard "wanna go?" it would be a perfect fit in this modern childish political world. Then he should do that lame yoga pose just to point out the type of guy that beat them up! lol
  7. Wanted to pop in and say thanks for all the info you guys provide. I creep this thread on the regular. I was a competitive Karateka until I was 35. Aside from traditional training I would always work on cardio. We used to abide by the saying 'If you can't run, you can't fight'. Well, agree with that or not... I used to run a lot to make sure my weight was down low so that I could compete in the 70kg ( 154lbs) division. I learned really early on that smaller people don't hit as hard. I'm 43 now. I still run, 10k's ...I'm about to do my 5th Sun Run in a row this year. I will also never live without a heavy bag! mandatory, daily, for my mental well being. I do a full body work out every 3 days also. Mostly dumbbells exercises with chin ups and a few core exercises. I walk around at a comfortable, pretty cut 185lbs and would be surprised if I get much lighter again as I'm really enjoying my bigger stronger self. I went through some pain in my shoulders ( I think rotator cuff), but after some adjustments I have seen that go away. My recent issue also seems to be getting better, which is a popping elbow. I have researched that I must have larger carrying angle for my elbow, heard of that? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Makkvx7fKF8 its caused by over use of your dominant hand. Aside from Karate, I trained a lot of boxing, Muay Thai, was a baseball pitcher for years ( as well as a lot of other team sports) and have been a drummer since I was 11 (rock beats for example use your dominant hand 3 to 1) Anyway, for any exercise you must control your form to give you a chance at remaining healthy and always keep up with new research. Finding out about my elbow was a big thing for me, I now approach my tricep work with different angles and it's helping. So, keep it up everyone. Your health should be a lifetime study.
  8. Haha, gold. Don't hold back, tell us how you really feel.
  9. peoplekind.....wut? humankind. huwomankind? i dunno JT. you sure do sound silly at times.
  10. Dyson Sphere! Read a couple books a few years back by Chuck Palahniuk, Damned and Doomed. Super fun, like the Breakfast Club...only set in Hell. Anyway the underlying theme is that we are killing the earth riding around on 'dinosaur juice'. Not looking forward to this battle. I need to get up to speed though on both sides of the disagreement.
  11. Had a rough sleep last night. House sitting at my sisters amazing waterfront home on the island. Man, the wind was just howling and the whitecaps were choppin away. Even had my niece contact me at 3:30am asking if I should go to her house on higher ground....kinda freaky!
  12. I hear ya, there's a guy in the Trump thread that reeks of Russian influence. Actually, this is CDC. You can bring in as many fluffers as you want but, it`s a pretty staunch crew in here.
  13. Thank you. A real close friend has a furniture shop. I'll borrow some nice pieces and will doll it up. Probably hold off one more year and aim for May 2019 to list my apt. Last night I was grumpy at the city and felt like throwing in the towel. I have a detached house on Van Isl that I might move on this year though. If I do, I'll wait for this May as well. I'll let you know how it goes.
  14. Imma bake some bread, clean the windows, stage the place ( maybe the obvious Barcelona lounger) and list when the sun is shinin' Edit: and a fish-eye lens
  15. oh, must have been Bob using Peter, they did the convert in '94 I think. Bought in '01. My best friend bought a unit in the same building at the same time. He knew Bob a bit and worked for Peter, anyway it was Bob that gave us the details after we purchased and maybe why he was in my head as developer ( thx for the 2nd correction of the day!). My bud went on to buy another spot in Yaletown with a nice big discount from Peter. That Mr. Wall is quite a unique person!
  16. Agreed, Rennie did the old one I have. Its great, cement (commercial convert), huge units and hallways, high ceilings. My sister does a lot of real estate on the side. She still owns a bachelor unit that I sold her 15yrs ago , another cement building dt. Its not a well run place and has had some issues. Still wish I'd held on to it... a developer is currently trying to buy up the whole block and her early offers are silly high.
  17. ha, i was just about ask about the 2-5-10 warranty. I remember in the 90's a lot of buildings going up around that time were getting the leaky condo tag. Then I started hearing about that 2-5-10. I still would avoid places built around that time. I would rather buy no older than the last 10years or at least 30 years old ( cement of course)
  18. wow, really? thanks for the info. That's interesting. They should be I think!
  19. Yes, I believe it is. And check on the contingency fund, could indicate how well the strata is managed.
  20. Hmm, My DT Van condo and my detached home in Nanoose Bay (VI) both saw the same percentage increase last year, 21%. Didn't expect that although I am not complaining.
  21. Happy that the Hipster Logger idea is starting to lose popularity in these polls.
  22. Totally, US is easily as bad as the Russians. Just seems the Russians keep getting caught a lot lately with their hands in the cookie jar. And I don't think we should ever be complacent about our nations security, glad they got this guy.
  23. My friend gave me a review of Star Wars. He had me dying laughing, He was sooo bent out of shape and complaining about the movie. He would not stop about a 'Space Walrus' or something? Anyway it sounds really dumb, I just have to see it now.
  24. Them darn Russians. Accused Russian spy was in the room for Trudeau talks with Ukrainian PM "He was in the room for a number of high-level meetings in Ottawa, including private sessions with Trudeau and Gov. Gen. Julie Payette" http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/ukraine-translator-russian-spy-canada-1.4461346
