Big Mac nets his 10th goal of the season:

Gaunce scores again tonight. Now 5 goals in his 8 games in Utica. And continues his bid for the AHL Cy Young award with a 5-0 line (5 goals, no assists ). Here’s the goal (bit of a flukey one but they all count):

1G 2A for McEneny in Utica’s 5-4 win. Here’s his goal:

Another assist last night, plus the coveted “Canucks Army 3rd Star” from Comets Cory: https://canucksarmy.com/2018/11/30/canucksarmy-utica-comets-post-game-utica-comets-drop-second-straight-4-2-decision-this-time-to-belleville/ “3rd Star: Lukas Jasek. Jasek saw time on the power play today and was playing mostly with players who can help him provide offence for the club. He picked up his sixth assist and is now up to 11 points in 19 games played this season. He is currently putting up 0.58 points/game, or 44 points over a 76 game season. That is some pretty solid production from the first year forward. Jasek looks to be earning the trust of his coaching staff as he was out in the final two minutes of the game with the team looking to tie things up.”

I could see both being true. Hughes being top-3 in a very deep draft.

Third line and limited minutes/role for Wise, versus first line and lots of minutes in all situations for Madden. So not really apples to apples to compare them purely on stats. That said, what Madden is doing is pretty remarkable. He’s stepped in as a freshman and thrived as a number one centre. Putting up really good totals, while also playing a solid two-way game. Northeastern has surprised this season. They weren’t picked to be all that great, especially with most of their key players graduating to pro, and having to rebuild the top of their roster. Yet they’ve climbed up 13th in the national rankings already and might go higher after this weekend. Obviously that’s been a team effort, but Madden has been a big part of their success and making that team competitive night in and night out.

Lockwood with one assist tonight, and remains snakebitten with 8 shot attempts and 6 SOG, but no goals this game. Should bring him to 13 points (4G 9A) in 14 games.
-
Hughes will finish with 3 assists, -1, 5 shot attempts, 2 SOG, and Michigan loses 4-3 to rivals Michigan State, despite dominating possession and on the shot clock. Should bring him to 18 points (3G 15A) in 14 games.
-
Game ends 9-1. Madden with 2 assists, +2, and 9/16 on faceoffs. Should bring him to 12 points (5G 7A) in 13 games.
-
Make that 3 assists for Q!
-
Hughes with 2 assists so far. 2-2 score. Assist#2:
-
Also picked up another helper on this goal: So two assists so far. And the rout is on, with NU leading 7-1 in the 2nd.
-
For those interested, I think the Northeastern vs Merrimack game today will be a free stream. Looks like the Harvard and Michigan games are paid/subscription. Here’s what should be the link for Madden’s game: https://portal.stretchinternet.com/northeastern/portal.htm?eventId=453981&streamType=video Starts at 4pm Vancouver time (7pm EST).

2019 NHL Entry Draft in Vancouver, BC
SID.IS.SID.ME.IS.ME replied to Qwags's topic in Prospects / Farm Team
Kinda hate that Dach is doing so well. He was my favourite for a non-lottery win pick a few months back. Now, he might not get past the top-3. -
He lost a game in between. Gave up 4 in a loss on Sunday.
-
DiPietro saves 29/31 tonight to pickup his 10th win. Now 10-7-1 with a 0.920 SV% and a 2.351 GAA.
-
Yeah, that was a nice goal. Here’s a vid for anyone who missed it:
-
I think he’s offering about as much praise as he can. He can’t really go out and say “this kid is a guaranteed Norris winner and generational star” and he’d be foolish if he was willing to say that much on any prospect. But he’s not not saying it either. He just doesn’t know, and that’s fair, because nobody really knows. What he is saying though is that Hughes is the best D outside the NHL, he’s gonna be a star, and that, if you want to read between the lines at little, he will probably produce elite totals (just maybe not “elite, elite” or elite²). I think I can live with that. EDIT: In addition to Madden and Hughes, Pronman also has praise for Rathbone (who he hopes will play in the WJC) and Lockwood (who he said looks good whenever he sees him).
-
Pronman also named Quinn Hughes as the best defenceman not currently playing in the NHL (it was in his Live Q&A this week on The Athletic). EDIT: Here’s the quote: I don't know if [Hughes is] ever going to be an elite, elite point producer to warrant [winning the Norris Trophy] but I think he's going to be a star. Best D outside the NHL now for me.
