looked like a laser live, but i didnt see the replay.

both primary assists he had last night were pretty darn nice. Basically gave guys wide open nets. Looks like his offensive game is evolving every day, seems like he has blossomed into a true top-end prospect over the last 60-70games and even more so the last month, lets hope his upward trajectory continues.

figure of speech, hes not wrong the vast majority wernt happy either with the trade or the pick. I myself had no real idea who horvat was. I was sure the canucks were taking nichushkin. But i am very happy to have Bo probably a better fit for the organization long term. Watching him last night he shut down sam bennett through 2 periods, and in the 3rd with all the penalties london took they couldnt match lines as hard and bennett was much more dangerous. Bo wasnt flashy but he made several nice offensive plays and it looks like he just gets the game.

yeah during the lockout corey perry was practicing with london and its been mentioned before was teaching horvat how to play and get positioning on the PP in front of the net.

didnt see this posted anywhere but here is the schedule for the london knights quest for the cup. http://www.ontariohockeyleague.com/article/quest-for-the-cup-premieres-sunday they air on sportsnet360 and i dont think they are posted anywhere online so dont miss them. replays of the first episode on Friday, October 25th @ 11:00pm/ET Saturday, October 26th @ 6:00pm/ET Fans can also mark the following Sunday’s on their calendars as the launch dates for the remaining 7 episodes: Episode #2 – Sunday, November 10, 2013 Episode #3 – Sunday, December 15, 2013 Episode #4 – Sunday, January 19, 2014 Episode #5 – Sunday, February 9, 2014 Episode #6 – Sunday, March 9, 2014 Episode #7 – Sunday, April 6, 2014 Episode #8 – Sunday, May 4, 2014 should be great to see a 24-7 style documentary on the knights and horvat. will be a must PVR for most i think since it clashes with sunday night football.

http://www.teamradio.ca/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/Mike_Gillis_with_BMac_and_Taylor_Oct2nd.mp3 gillis interview he discusses horvat/shinkaruk says they will play huge minutes in the CHL,world juniors, mem cup and then be that much more ready next year when they make this team. horvat/shink discussed near the end of the interview. I thought this was an interesting phrasing of words from MG clearly they thought the two of them were close.

i think detroit showed you dont need a big brusing 3rd line if your top players can handle the matchup game. We all know kes can do it and the sedins can hold their own, so a higgins-schroeder-hansen line could give the canucks a huge offensive push just like the kid line in detroit last season of brunner-nyquist-andersson. good news for the canucks is it looks like they can mold that 3rd line this year to play however they want with richardson. Lain also looked very good and could play a 4th line role with richy on the 3rd line for more of a "heavy" lineup against a big team.
-
good line for horvat to start off on i think, takes all the pressure off him of trying to create offense and just see what he can give you defensively and away from the puck.

not quite sure how samuelsson has surpassed gaunce in development, what has sammy done in a prospects tournament or training camp? oh thats right we have no clue since the coyotes dont broadcast anything. Samuelsson outscored gaunce in the regular season but gaunce outscored sammy in the playoffs. Really they are very similar players with samuelsson having more of a meanstreak. People are looking too hard for Gaunce to come in and put up points or show offensive flash. That just isnt his game at this point of his career at the NHL level. Kes had 23 points in his first full season in the NHL expecting anything more than 15-20points from Gaunce in a 3rd line role is unrealistic. If the canucks are looking for more offensive punch from the 3rd line Gaunce doesnt look ready to fulfill that role this year in my opinion.
-
yup joys of a rabid fan base.

it really is a tough call with horvat. He would benefit from playing in the NHL and he plays the type of game that would translate very well. However when you look at the opportunity he has in London this year probably captain, memorial cup, world juniors, chance to be one of the best players in the league and dominate it makes it tough to not send him back to gain that confidence and experience.

"An award may also simply be a public acknowledgment of excellence, without any tangible token or prize". so yes, by definition it is an award and since the coaches vote on it, i would say its a good indicator of his defensive skill and not a FOTM media pick.
-
uh yeah and a coaches poll means a heck of a lot more than any NHL award that is voted by the moronic media.
-
yup, i guess they were wrong although if you look at the west voting i would hazard a guess that Gaunce might win if they did a league wide vote. Best Defensive Forward(West) Rickard Rakell, Plymouth Whalers (23) – finished first in voting in 2011-12 Brady Vail, Windsor Spitfires (16) Jason Dickinson, Guelph Storm tied Charles Sarault, Sarnia Sting (11)
-
Best Defensive Forward 1. Brendan Gaunce, Belleville Bulls (23) 2. Scott Laughton, Oshawa Generals (20) 3. Barclay Goodrow, Brampton Battalion tied Michael Kantor, Sudbury Wolves (12) http://www.ontariohockeyleague.com/article/ohl-eastern-conference-coaches-poll troll elsewhere.

most people seem to think that was the case late in the year and especially in the playoffs. Most seem to think that the increased role and icetime that resulted from the hard matchup game that hunter employed in the playoffs allowed horvat to take his game to the next level. horvat in his last 60 games reg season + playoffs had 39goals that is pretty darn good.
-
iirc if he is sent back to belleville he wouldnt be eligible for the AHL until belleville is eliminated from the playoffs.

puck over glass! hey ref kiss my a$$? 19:17 CAN Delay of Game/Retarder le match not a good start for team canada. edit: guess not covered puck with his hand. Tyson Giuriato @TysonGiuriato 7m Closing his hand on the puck on the PK RT @TucoSalamanka: @TysonGiuriato what was the horvat penalty for?

when they first announced the trade i was like oh were taking nichushkin for sure, and when they took bo i almost threw the remote through my tv. But when i went and researched Bo i liked the pick more and more, like gillman said he has all the qualities that we want in a canucks player and now its up to us to develop him.
