Perhaps Arizona's training camp was, relatively, a country club and the two Arizona vets weren't prepared to get (Travis) Green in the Gills.

When you’re doing battle drills against Phil the Thrill Kessel you can pull up a chair and grab a hot dog…

Your proving my point using Drai as an example. His contract was seen as risky and an overpayment universally now its probably the best contract in the game.

Nobody thought he would become a 120 point player.

Petey is also better when comparing age and performance.

Also if Pettersson played with the best player in the game I’m sure his points would be well over a hundred in his prime too.

If your gonna overpay for potential Petey is a pretty safe choice.

If he were to sign for 7-8 years at 9-9.5 its a no brainer.

Petey's floor is a 30 goal 75-80 point guy who elevates his linemates better than almost anybody.

Realistically hes still 3 years from his prime years and chances are very good he breaks out and becomes the same tier as guys like Eichel,  Miko AM etc.

I can't believe how jaded this market is, 7.5 is too much for a 22 year-old

1c almost ppg pace and 30+ goal scorer should be moved for magic beans because he's not worth the same deal as Barzel,  less than Aho, seriously? You will never win a cup without elite players especially 1c and 7.5 for 3 years is fair for both sides, 7-8 years 9+ is beyond fair considering the upside and how rare it is to draft a legit 1c.

People are right this is lord of the flies and young stars who have never expressed a desire to leave  are being piggied, this is to funny.

Some fans impatience and desire for a cup blinds them to how good we have it.

They want a winner now but at the same time are equally willing to blow it all up. It’s a very bizarre dichotomy in this market.

So.. With Sutter out indefinitely, who can fill in as %C now?? Dowling? Petan? Maybe JB should bring in a centre on PTO??

Eric Staal on a PTO would make sense.

The other player the Canucks were linked to was Brandon Pirri though.

Do any others maybe worry that the Tkuchuks have Quinns ear. Keith was a nightmare in contract talks and the two chips off the ole coprolite seem to be following in dads shoes. Being family friends in all, maybe some of their selfish arrogant  opinions get adopted. I realize they'd have no actual accountability on  contract talks but negative comments and opinions are poison.

My worry is that Quinn is holding out for a ridiculous amount and that’s what’s holding things up.

Kind of odd that Pettersson came to town only to leave and go train with Hughes. Maybe he’s going down their to talk him into signing?

Obviously Petey can’t get his deal done till Hughes does.

Even Duncan Keith isn't stupid enough to stay unvaxxed.  The player is likely Archibald, but we'd likely be in the same situation with any unvaccinated player.  Hamonic is a good teammate by all accounts, so I doubt he'll do this to the team.

Didn’t they protect Archibald instead of Larsson too?

    That sucks for them.

Fatigue of some sort, not covid- according to J.B., posted in tweet form, likely in this thread.

    Thanks.

Hopefully everything is okay. Luckily we have better depth now with Dickinson, we can afford to have him out for a bit.

I remember a few proposals to trade for this idiot.  Glad that didn't happen.

I mean calling him an idiot is a little harsh.

Everyone has their reasons for not getting the vaccine. Not all of them are conspiracy nuts or anti vaxxers.

The fact that he’s willing to give up 5+ million for his convictions has to be respected. That’s putting your money where your mouth is.

Its the people that think they shouldn’t have to sacrifice anything for their choice is who I have a problem with.
