Well if he’s coming back you gotta bring back Goldy! I swear they’d all be stars if those dumb coaches just played them more! -
[Rumour] Nikita Tryamkin eyeing NHL return

Can he bring Kirill Koltsov back with him?? Been dreaming of his return for 18 long years! -
Isles currently have 30 games left in the season. To just squeak into the playoffs they’ll realistically need 96 points based on past Eastern Conference standings. That means they’d have to go something like 19-8-3. That’s a points % of .683. Only three teams in the entire league currently have a points percentage higher than that. Lou ain’t stupid he knows it’s a long shot. Is this all about saving his job and planning for next season? Or is the plan to just flip Bo at the deadline and try and get better assets back?

I know he’s having a really good season I’m just saying look at Caufield’s draft season. He had ungodly numbers for the USDP and absolutely dominated the u18’s. No reason he shouldn’t have been a top 10 pick yet he fell to 15 because of his size. Benson probably won’t fall that much but there are a lot of good forwards in this years top 10. Ones who aren’t 5’10” and 160 lbs. Who knows though maybe if we don’t win the lotto we’ll take him with our first pick.
-
Any chance local kids Benson or Cristall slip to 13? Putting up awesome numbers but as we’ve seen before with guys like Caufield, size does play a factor.
-
Wouldn’t be surprised if Allvin is kicking the tires on Puljujarvi after acquiring Raty. Former teammates on Karpat, maybe could form some chemistry. Could probably get him cheap just so they can clear cap. And a down year means his next contract would be low. Seems to fit the bill of wha they’re looking for.
-
Committed to Clarkson next season. He’ll be a long term project like McDonaugh. Probably spend at least 3 years in college.
-
Not having a cap structure and a max you’re willing to pay guys for certain numbers and roles is how you end up with a bunch of terrible contracts that Benning collected. We can’t go back there. Even though people are worried about Millers contract it is fair value for what he’s done here even without the 99 point season. He’s averaged a point per game here for 4 and a half seasons. He could have probably gotten 9 mil on the open market.

If that’s true I gotta think he didn’t actually wanna be here anymore. That’s a completely fair offer. Maybe a bit of a “hometown discount” but if this is somewhere he really wanted to be that should have been enough to get it done. We gotta build around guys that will take a little less. That’s what all the Stanley Cup winning teams do. You can’t win with players looking to cash out.
-
Hopefully he got a strong foundation for his two way game in the Islanders system, but not too much that they stifled his offensive game. His draft +1 year is very impressive when you compare it to other Finns like Aho and Granlund.
-
They’re in San Jose on Friday. Uncertain if Raty will play at this point. Sedin night is the following Friday.
-
Yea if anything I think the offers may have gone down with teams trying to take advantage of our desperation. It would have been obvious which teams were serious bidders by now. Any team that wasn’t willing to include a top prospect was ruled out. Lou was motivated to get a deal done early because his team needs wins. No point dragging it out and risking that the deal gets pulled when it’s the pieces you want.

If Thompson is out awhile I wonder if the Sabres make a desperation move or just pack it in?
