[3-Way Trade] Penguins acquire Erik Karlsson, Rem Pitlick, Dillon Hamaliuk, 2026 3rd-round pick; Sharks acquire Mikael Granlund, Jan Rutta, Mike Hoffman, 2024 1st-round pick; Canadiens acquire Jeff Petry, Casey DeSmith, Nathan Legare, 2025 2nd-round pick

Nah they could have squeezed the Pens for more, Dubas clearly was hellbent on getting Karlsson. They couldn’t even get an unprotected 1st. -

San Jose definitely did not win. They got a first round pick for a Norris winning defenseman when their starting price was three 1sts. You’re telling me they couldn’t have gotten Pickering or Blomqvist from them? This move just ensures San Jose’s rebuild is gonna take even longer which I’m good with. -

I’d take Petry at 2.35 mil if it doesn’t cost too much. -

Yea but they seemingly got no value for taking on that contract. It makes no sense for San Jose. -

Well with San Jose being in our division I was hoping they’d get a weak return so I’m happy with that. They went from asking for three 1st round picks to getting one late one. Dubas also blowing his load early with the Pens. He just turned them into the Leafs real fast. -

Yea but Karlsson has value. Granlund and Petry have none. Not sure why San Jose would ever take that Granlund contract. Let’s face it teams that have poster boys like Crosby on it get favours done for them all the time. It’s still the old boys club. -

Lots of teams with competent management can’t even move 2 million in cap space. A team that is over the cap and has limited assets somehow moved 11 mil in cap? -

Isn’t it amazing how the NHLs favourite teams always manage to free up cap space when they need to? -

Play physical and make simple passes. If Myers could master that he’d actually be effective. -
Willander has some physicality to his game too apparently. Finally the scouts are realizing strength and physicality matter. Who knew?

Reminds me of the David Clarkson deal. Will most certainly end with a buyout or Robidas island… -

I wish they added a 7 year and 3 year patch to their jerseys. Really important to celebrate their rich history. -
[Rumour] Van & Columbus trade rumor
DeNiro replied to 5nothincanucksohno's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Teams that were playoff teams didn’t have the cap space and we didn’t want to retain. That’s why a deal didn’t get done. Columbus has the cap and would like to add more scoring. He would be valuable to them. -
[Rumour] Van & Columbus trade rumor

Draft position doesn’t mean anything 2 years on. That’s like saying Podkolzin has a ton of value because he was a 10th overall 4 years ago. 11 points in 64 games last season. Nothing is boosting his value much right now. Maybe they’d prefer a prospect or young player like Hoglander but I don’t see his value being more than that. Boeser has more value than a bottom pairing D. Again undervaluing Boeser who would have been 2nd on the Jackets in scoring last season… -

If that were true the Yankees would win every year too. Im tired of the manufactured parity of this league. The have teams get punished every season while the poverty franchises get propped up… -
[Rumour] Van & Columbus trade rumor
DeNiro replied to 5nothincanucksohno's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Sillinger does not project to be a first line center at all. At this point he’s looking like a third line center. Columbus has Fantilli and Johnson as their top two they can afford to dump Sillinger. A 2nd round pick is a fair price for him. As for Peeke he’s not a cap dump but he definitely doesn’t have more value than Boeser. Columbus is very deep on D and Peeke will be playing on the bottom pair there in no time. He’s as much a top 4 as Gudbranson is. You’re overvaluing these players big time.
