  1. They’ll get all those players back plus new ones. If the goal is development then having our prospects play a bigger role is a good thing. The worst thing we did before with Utica is bury prospects in place of AHL vets. We don’t wanna go back down that road.
  2. Binnington is lucky Georgiev didn’t come down there he would have got dummied. Binnington is a creampuff.
  3. Drafting is more to blame than development. How often have we actually had legit prospects vs long shots over the years. Good things are happening in Abby, it’s not gonna change cause we lose one player.
  4. Except they’ve been doing really well without him so it’s not an issue. That team can succeed with the pieces they have. And like I said they’ll likely get a big boost through trade acquisitions and NCAA signings.
  5. Agreed. Even if he pans out we needed D men and centers. Bischel, Rinzel, or even the Perry clone Gaucher would have been better picks.
  6. He looks nervous… Such a fragile little ego on Binnington.
  7. Or maybe one of our prospects steps up an fills the void. Im not gonna lose sleep over it.
  8. I’m sure Abby will get new players at and after the trade deadline either through acquiring prospects or signing college free agents. An extra contract slot isn’t the worst thing to have.
  9. I’m not saying call him up to the big club. Im saying he’ll get more prime minutes in Abbotsford. Hes already showing he’s ready.
  10. I’m not saying bring them up I’m talking about their role in Abbotsford. That’s where they were hoping to send Pederson.
  11. Karlsson is ready for that role though, we wouldn’t be throwing him into anything.
  12. The fact that he even needs to come out and say this is the issue. If it weren’t for the whole Pearson debacle and past issues surrounding COVID fans wouldn’t have even questioned this. The confidence in this management is clearly at an all time low though.
  13. I see it more as opportunity for one of our prospects. Pederson would have been getting all the prime minutes, now someone like Karlsson can take those.
  14. On the one hand I feel bad for Abby because he would have given them a real boost. But on the other hand it just means one of our prospects will get more opportunity. Oh well we just opened up a roster spot and a contract.
  15. I know Allvin can’t answer questions about tanking but I will be curious to see how they handle the tank in the last couple months here. I know there are no guarantees with the lottery, but they need to give themselves the best chance at a top 5-6 pick at the very least. A bunch of morale victories down the stretch is not acceptable this time. It’s how we end up with more average prospects and remain a below average team.
  16. I wonder how much of it is now he has to face the reality of what’s going on in his country… Im sure playing hockey was a good escape for a lot of these Russian players.
  17. Isn’t that a slippery slope though? Like what kind of rules does the NHL have in place for when a player can decide to play and when they can’t? What if a player decides to play and it leads to a career ending injury? Is it all on them? Regardless of all that I don’t understand what the long term plan was. Have him play all season not at 100% until he might need surgery? If they planned on being a playoff team why not get the surgery done right away so he could be back for the stretch drive?
  18. I’m aware the doctors need to clear him. I’m asking why they did?
  19. Surely his agent would have been involved in the process too. So they’re not exempt from this. The doctors are the ones that have to be responsible here though. Players are obviously gonna wanna play, and managers and coaches clearly want the players in the lineup. The doctors have to be the adults in the room.
  20. Surely they would have got his medical report though. None of them thought to shut him down? They can’t force him to play but they can shut him down.
  21. Yea like what is going on with this greasy management group. How is a doctor letting a player risk that? You can’t just let players make that decsion!
  22. Okay well that’s not good. How is a doctor clearing him?? Is the NHL gonna have to investigate our medical staff? Clearly their own “thorough” investigation wasn’t good enough…
  23. Exactly. No doctor could let a player play with a major tear. They’d get their license revoked.
  24. Can anyone with cap knowledge tell us how much extra cap we have now? This should allow us to take cap off other teams to get deals done no?
  25. They’re definitely pushing that back as long as they can. Hopefully an additional week in the AHL for conditioning.
