  1. I could see us having interest in him anyway. Schenn to Tampa for Foote makes sense. He has kind of hit a plateau there from the looks of it.
  2. Three players. Two roster and a top prospect is what he said. Remember not all the teams interested are contenders. There are non playoff teams looking to trade for him and sign him. Detroit is apparently very interested.
  3. Yea but you already admitted that you were training as a boxer during that time. So yea it stands to reason that you’d be a better fighter then… It’s not like Miller is training as a fighter on his workout days. He rarely fights and that’s essentially the only time he practices. You can’t compare that to the experience of being in hundreds of fights.
  4. Inexperience and overeagnerness can often be a younger guys downfall. Youre acting like a 58 year old can barely hold up their arms anymore.
  5. He’s more than a “YouTuber” he’s a trained boxer now. Its actually a pretty good comparison when you’re talking about a very experienced NHL fighter who fought some of the best vs a guy who occasionally fights against other non fighters.
  6. There’s very different degrees of 58 too. If a guy smokes and drinks his whole life sure he’s gonna be weak and out of shape. Lots of 58 year olds who are even fitter and stronger than they were when they were 30. They might not have the same stamina, but we’re not talking about 9 rounds, we’re talking about a fight, which doesn’t typically last more than a few minutes if that.
  7. Okay well pro boxers tend to hang them up because of concussion issues and other demands of being a boxer. Has nothing to do with them not being tough anymore. Completely different example. This is stupid though why are we taking about some hypothetical fight between a player and coach. It’s not gonna happen. But there’s really no comparison in the toughness department and I stand by that. Guys that are tough will always be wired that way. Miller does it out of obligation not cause he likes it.
  8. He doesn’t need to, that’s why. I guarantee he would pulverize him if he really wanted to waste his time.
  9. Completely different scenarios. We’re talking about an ex professional athlete that has access to world class equipment and probably still stays in fairly good shape. We’re not talking about your average joes over at the local rec center.
  10. I know a lot of guys in their 50’s I would not tangle with. These guys have huge mitts and don’t forget how to go just cause they’re older. Only takes one punch if you know what you’re doing. But yes tell me again how age makes you tough.
  11. Soucy is tough? Lol. Do you think you forget how to fight just cause your 58? Fighting isn’t all about strength, it’s a lot to do with technique. Millers technique is weak which is why he barely fights.
  12. Lol. If he’s such a tough guy how come he never fights? Tocchett fought some of the toughest players in NHL history. Miller would be afraid to fight someone like Foligno. There’s a difference between your average 58 year old and a ex professional athlete 58 year old.
  13. Key word being occasionally. Tough guys like Tocchett are still tough into their 50’s.
  14. Apparently he knocked him down in practice one time trying to show him how to box out. OEL wasn’t very happy but people love to speculate. If anything they butted heads about what Tocchett wanted his role to be.
  15. Coached with Tocchett in Tampa. Also Bo credited his scoring bump to working with Oates in the summer. Would be a good move if they’re trying to get Bo to stay still. Or just to get our guys shooting the puck more/better.
  16. I’d like to take this time to coin a new phrase: “Incompe-tank” Its when you’re not actually trying to tank, you’re just so incompetent that it happens as a result.
  17. Boston fans think it’s alright to marry your cousin so…
  18. This is the kind of tank we’re up against. Convenient their top scorer just happens to go down right after their GM admits he told the coach to tank.
  19. I’m honestly not confident we’ll beat any of those teams, our defense and goaltending has been that bad. This team looks completely out of gas and are gonna lose their captain and have the shock of a new demanding head coach. Those young tanking teams are all playing loose and playing for new contracts. Those are the trap games we always lose at the end of the season. I dont see that being any different.
  20. The owners don’t wanna pay for multiple coaches (even though they are anyways), what makes you think they wanna pay for multiple GMs and Presidents? We’re stuck with this group for at least another year. Better settle in.
