  1. He’s no different than any other player at this level. Players need to be reigned in though. Him wanting to prove something now at the cost of next season wouldn’t be worth it. Id like to see them ease up on the amount he plays at the end here. I think he’s shown he’s back to his old self. Not much left to prove IMO.
  2. Kings did it all season. Let’s not pretend we did them any favours. If we had any sort of consistent structure to begin with they would have won a lot more games.
  3. Yep and that’s all good. I’m not arguing against implementing the system. Ive been pretty consistent about arguing against a few things. Hughes’ ice time, Our top forwards ice time vs bottom 6, and Demko’s load management. Even if we’re not getting a top pick these things are important. The last thing we need right now is an injury to one of these guys because they’re playing too much. I’m also not seeing much development in terms of a supporting cast. Joshua and Aman have had their moments but I’d like to see more there. Try different guys in different spots and see how they do.
  4. I dunno. Not much to say about this game either hence the tank discussion. What are we gonna say? This is a must win against a 29th place team in order to build for next season? Garbage time typically leads to garbage discussion. Gotta talk about something though.
  5. Like I said I’ve been a fan long enough to know the story. Doesn’t make me depressed I’ve accepted it now. Im not gonna sit here and pretend everything’s rosy all the time either. I do still enjoy talking about my team whether I agree with what they’re doing or not. Im still very optimistic when it comes to alot of aspects of this team. This is one thing I feel pretty strongly about though. Trying to win in garbage time and getting a worse pick doesn’t accomplish anything. If the players wanna feel good about themselves and the team then they need to put the work in in the offseason. This isn’t proving anything other than we can win with a few players deciding games.
  6. I’ll be happy if Reinbacher is that guy. Time will tell I guess. Still holding out hope we can somehow win and jump to that second spot. Fantilli or Carlsson would compliment this core so well.
  7. 37 but you’re right he can still be effective. But more in a supporting role. Still need those elite players to drive play. Ideally you want a succession plan for him sooner than later. That’s how a team keeps their window open.
  8. The good thing is Miller is just as effective on the wing. So if they do get that center he can move there and still contribute. You’ve gotta have speed down the middle though and age will catch up to him despite what some people believe.
  9. I’m not gonna get into it again, but I don’t believe Miller will be that center for us when we’re actually ready to contend. We need another center coming up behind Petey for us to have an actual window to contend. The worst thing we can do is shorten our window again. We saw that enough under Gillis and Benning.
  10. Yea some people take it too far, but I see alot of it as just venting. If you can’t vent here where are you gonna vent? I personally think one of the missing pieces for us is another elite center. Maybe it ends up being another right shot D. It’s gonna be tough to see us miss out on all those top centers at the top of the draft though. If we end up 9th or 10th and grab a top D I’ll be happy. But it still won’t change my belief that we need another center. That player will be hard to find outside the draft.
  11. All fair points. But you’re telling Canucks fans not to piss and moan? That’s what we do! I see a lot of people who were cheering on the tank a few weeks ago now pretending like they never wanted to tank. You can’t take some sort of high ground, when you were down in the mud not that long ago.
  12. It’s not the one and only way but more often than not it gives you a big piece to the puzzle. With 15 games remaining Id rather try and get one of those players who will help you for the next 15 years than winning some meaningless games. You can paint it as a “tantrum” but it’s just frustration from fans who have every right to be frustrated. The end goal that everyone wants to see is this team improving. The whole us vs them mentality is pointless.
  13. Yep 100%. It’s cute watching people be so optimistic at the end of every season. I was there once but you can only rinse and repeat so many times.
  14. Fake joy out of watching other people wanting their team to improve? Just because they believe in a different way of getting there you’re gonna antagonize them?
  15. You really think I’m seething. It really doesn’t affect me as much as you think. Just tired of watching the same formula get repeated again and again. Hoping to see a championship before I die like everyone else. I hope I’m wrong but I’ve watched this play out enough times that I’m pretty confident I’m not.
  16. Yea there’s gonna be a lot of changes I think. For me Garland or Boeser are gone. You can’t keep both. Myers is as good as gone. How much more of an overhaul beyond that remains to be seen.
  17. The same thing happened with Myers, OEL, and Schenn in the lineup though. Still need major upgrades on the back end and in the bottom 6. If the system is solid we should be able to sustain a Demko injury. Im definitely not convinced we’re at that point.
  18. Same scrambly play now we just have Demko saving our butts. Nothing about these wins are sustainable. The roster still needs an overhaul.
  19. If this team was losing out or winning it wouldn’t change anything for me. Tocchett’s real work begins this offseason and then training camp. This stretch of games means nothing, it will always be if they can start the season well with what should be quite a different team. If winning and changing the culture accomplished what you’re claiming we would have started this season off well. Does an unproven rookie change things? I dunno did it change things for Seattle? Did it change things for New Jersey?
  20. So drafting high is a “golden ticket”? It’s like fans don’t even follow their own history… The two most successful times in this franchises history was from drafting in the top 3. Trevor Linden 2nd overall and Danie and Henrik 2nd and 3rd overall. But keep telling us how top 3 picks are just golden tickets.
  21. I’ll weigh in sure but at this point I’m pretty apathetic towards this team. It’s clear mediocrity is the goal.
  22. Lol okay. That’s why you see top teams mail it in against bottom feeders every night. The Kings playoff position is secured. You really think they’re gonna empty the tank against us in the middle of March? This honestly happens every season. We won a few games late and fans are right back into believing the team is something they’re not.
