(Rumour). Jake Livingstone D - NCAA - NHL Availability
DeNiro replied to SilentSam's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
I would say the same thing I’d say about any goalie that’s 6’0” and under, the odds are stacked against him. Shooters have become so good in todays game there’s a reason why you see less and less small goalies succeed. -

A 6’0” 170lb goalie is gonna be their answer? He’ll be headed to DiPietro island soon enough… -

Damn there goes one of the targets I would have liked to see us go after. Would have been the perfect term and dollar amount for us. -

Flames lose and Marky has a sub .900 SV% right after TSN posts an article about how he’s turning his game around at the perfect time… Good night for the tank. Ducks get the win and Chicago picks up a point! -

Yea considering how many surgeries athletes have I would say the success rate is quite high. Unfortunately some of them are bound to go wrong. -

[Signing] Canucks sign Kirill Kudryavtsev

I said he was trending towards being a bust not that he will be one. People get so fricken sensitive when you criticize anything about this teams players. The guy put up 9 points in 29 games in Allsvenskan. That’s not good progression at all. In fact that’s horrible. I know he was dealing with mono and concussion issues but 18 is a crucial age for development. You don’t see many top prospects have seasons that bad in their D+1. He needs to have a monster season next season or the odds of him being a NHLer drop even further. Tage Thompson is an outlier and a very unique example of a late bloomer. He also has the size and skill to allow him to play the role he does. Lekkeramaki is small and will need to be very dynamic to score at the next level. Karlsson is constantly getting under the skin of other players and is not afraid to go to the net. Not sure what you consider sandpaper but I consider that to be exactly that. If you expect him to be a top 6 player you’re in for a big disappointment. -

I disagree about their roles. I very much think Raty, Klimovich, and Karlsson will be developed to play in the bottom 6. Their size and the sandpaper they play with would make them ideal third liners if they make it. Podz will be developed with top 6 in mind but his offensive consistency is making him look more like a bottom 6 player right now. When you consider the players taken after him I’ve been pretty disappointed with his offensive development. Lekkermaki is top 6 or bust and right now he’s trending towards bust. We’ll see if he can get back on track next season though. -

What happened? Why are there so many surgeries? Is it all just to remove infection right now? -

31 games in the NHL and 28 in the AHL this season. Regardless that’s one player that has top 6 potential. I’ve seen people dress up our prospect pool before. Right now it’s still pretty poor. That’s the issue with losing so many 1st and 2nd round picks. It’s so much harder to build up high end depth. We desperately need depth at the Center position and on D and it would be nice to have another top goalie prospect coming up behind Silovs. Hopefully they can solve that in the upcoming draft. -

Podz has played over 100 NHL games now so I wouldn’t consider him a prospect anymore. Again a lot of good support players and bottom 6/depth D players not a whole lot that screams impact player. -

Until we get more high end prospects it will continue to be considered poor. We have lots of players that could play support and depth roles, not alot of top 6 or top 4 potential. -

No need to compare to Bure. Kuz is his own player and came into the league 6 years older than Bure with close to 350 professional games under his belt. Fun energetic player to watch but Bure was electrifying. One of the most exciting players to ever play the game. -

Solid out of tank scoreboard. The Blues and Yotes win and the Habs pick up a point. Flyers lose but their goaltender kept the Canes to one. Maybe they have a goalie good enough to steal them some. -
They have so many prospects at his level or better they can afford to part with him.

Yep need the Habs, Blues, and Flyers to win. At least we could get back into that 6 spot with a chance at 5 if the Yotes keep grinding out points. -

Yea I was gonna say I’ve been following the islanders since we got their pick and it’s definitely Sorokin and guys like Nelson and Lee leading the way. Bo has been a solid support player for them though and they would be lost if they didn’t have him after Barzal went down. Either way I’m rooting for the Isles now. I don’t care if I have to eat crow after saying they wouldn’t make the playoffs.
