  1. Canucks have him signed to an entry level contract, so yes he is their property and can play for the Comets. https://www.nhl.com/canucks/news/canucks-sign-juolevi-to-entry-level-contract/c-890613
  2. Boeser didn't end up on the score sheet but he had 4 shots and was 8-2 in the faceoff dot. Interesting that they've been using him on draws from time to time. Wonder if they'll try him out at center in the AHL.
  3. Actually that was a roster for a couple years from now if you had read it. By then we may be in the market for UFA's.
  4. In no way do I wanna see Edler on this team next season. They've got to find a way to trade him. They should keep Tanev, he compliments our puck movers. I'd like to see: UFA Tanev Juolevi Stecher Hutton Gudbranson That's not for a couple years when Juolevi is ready though.
  5. Because he's overrated. I've been saying for awhile he'll likely fall. All flash and not a whole lot else.
  6. They have 4 sets of three games in a row to finish out the season. At this point you gotta think Demko will get the first and third games while Bachman will get the 2nd game. He definitely gives them a better chance to win than Garteig right now.
  7. Comes from a very good team that features Vilardi, Brown, Sergachev, Bracco, Day, and Stanley. Lots of highly drafted talent on that team. Interesting that we've signed Vilardi and Petterson's teammates within a matter of weeks. Benning targeting these two?
  8. Dahlen or even Zhukenov have a better chance at being Utica's number 1 center IMO. Cassels is nothing more than a third liner at this point. I imagine if we did sign Aston Reese he'd be playing left wing alongside Gaudette. We'll see if they re-sign Valk as well. I don't see why they wouldn't.
  9. https://twitter.com/cmoresport/status/840978713655177216/video/1 Dahlen's shootout winner.
  10. I believe he's played 3 games and has 3 goals and 2 assists (all in one game)
  11. Not a stretch at all, have you watched him play? And what do you consider a franchise player? I consider them a player who leads the team in points, sells jersey's, and puts butts in the seats. A player of his high end skill level will definitely do that no question.
  12. Just like 2007 wouldn't have been worth it to move up to number 1? If anything, weak drafts are the best time to move up because there's teams willing to sell. There's definitely a franchise player in this years top 5.
  13. Hischier is definitely a first line player, probably the most skilled player in draft. Definitely a franchise player. Not a generational player though. Scouts say drafts are weak all the time but they almost always end up producing elite talent in the top 3.
  14. I don't think we'll be picking 5th. Probably in the 7-11 range. It's worth it for a franchise player.
  15. Canucks or back with the Knights. Doubt they force him into the lineup instead of sending him back to junior. I think they learned their lesson with Virtanen.
  16. Might be a good draft to move up depending on where we pick. I think Arizona might be motivated to trade down from number 2 if they end up there. I wouldn't be against a package of Hutton, Granlund, and our 1st if it meant getting Hischier.
  17. Hasn't really improved that much since last season. Probably gonna need another season of junior and then a season in the AHL.
  18. I know everyone's excited about this guy, but lets not get ahead of ourselves. I mean who do you think we're talking about, Jayson Megna?
  19. Pretty much. Still a long ways to go in his development. Love the skill set he brings. If it translates to the NHL he'll be a fun player to watch.
  20. For comparison the last 5 gold cage winners were: 2016 - Robert Kovacs (Age 19) - 44GP - 21G -13A 2015 - Robert Kovacs (Age 18) - 52GP - 17G - 11A 2014 - Lukas Bengtsson (Age 19) - 45GP - 13G - 20A (Defenceman) 2013 - Filip Forsberg (Age 18) - 38GP - 15G - 18A 2012 - William Karlsson (Age 19) - 46GP - 12G - 33A
  21. Who's a project winger exactly? And Liljegren will probably drop just so you know. I see Vilardi going 3 or 4.
  22. Vilardi will likely go top 3 though. There's a good chance we drop out of the top 3. We need a big scoring centerman in our system. Kopitar had skating issues too, I wouldn't pass on a player just because of that.
  23. Rasmussen has gotta be our guy if we don't end up in the top 3, no? Seems to check everything we need right now.
  24. This guy was a Tim Burke pick. Anyone who is familiar with him knows what that means. Alot of people credit him for the Sharks being competitive the last decade, thanks to his scouting and drafting abilities. He's basically San Jose's Benning, the guy finds NHL talent.
  25. I wouldn't go that far. He still picked an underwhelming prospect 6th overall. This does go a long ways in filling the glaring lack of skill we had in our system though.
