  1. Exactly. And Shinkaruk may be the better prospect next year. Until either make the NHL it doesn't really matter how good a prospect they are. Our goal should be to develop full time NHLers not just good prospects.
  2. Define "turned out better". Neither has played in the NHL full time yet, so as far as I'm concerned nothing has been decided.
  3. There was no player in the first round from the Knights in Virtanen's draft year. Not sure what that has to do with us drafting Virtanen.
  4. His two Stanley cup rings say hi. Yes as a stay at home D-man Mitchell is better than Hamhuis. I don't know anyone who would take Hamhuis over Mitchell if you're trying to build a championship team. I don't know how subjective those comparisons are. Have you watched our D this season? The only reason we haven't gotten absolutely embarrassed in quite a few games this season is because Miller has bailed us out. The amount of one goal games we've played in is definitely not a reflection of our D. From what I've seen from both Vancouver and Florida this season, Miller has been a bigger factor in keeping us in games than Lu has been in Florida.
  5. Okay. Ekblad>>Tanev Campbell>>Edler Mitchell>>Hamhuis Gudbranson>>Sbisa Kulikov>>Weber Olsen>>Bartkowski It's really not even close.
  6. Lu has a far superior D in front of him in Florida. Hard to compare.
  7. 12 million a year for this guy? What has he done to earn that much other than a strong finish to one season? Seems like they just blew alot of money on a guy that won't help them stay on top. Surely that money could have been spent better couldn't it?
  8. He'll probably spend some time in Utica to start next season. I still think they should loan him to team Canada though.
  9. He may have pushed to trade him, we'll never know how much hand he had in choosing the pieces that were targeted though. He can hardly take the entire blame for that one. At the same time some of Bennings trades that were immediately called horrible are starting to not look so bad now. I'm not worried about giving up pieces if they're not going to be good enough for a championship team. I'd rather get players we want than keep a bunch of average talent that gets us nowhere.
  10. I can see why the Isles don't wanna let him go. What a character guy. I'd take him on the Canucks in a second. Sometimes there's bold moves that become available that can change a team in a big way. I hope Benning is willing to make these moves.
  11. Well he's put up 4G 2A in 6 games since being sent back, so I don't think he's exactly pouting. He's just a young guy getting used to playing a top role in pro, he's gonna have lapses. Three games in three days is tough on any player I don't care who it is. Especially on players who play the style of play Gaunce does.
  12. It seems like he has the skill to be a good puck mover but his team needs him more in a shutdown role. With that skating and stickhandling, I'm surprised he doesn't have more points.
  13. Either way he's in a good place right now. UND is a great program with world class facilities. We're likely to get a strong well rounded player whenever he decides to leave.
  14. I would think he spends at least another season there. Depends on how much importance he puts on his schooling I guess.
  15. Is talking about Boeser allowed in here or is this the Gaborik vs Bure thread? Anyways, Boeser with another assist today. He's now on a 4 game point streak.

    Anton Rodin | RW/LW

Yea maybe. We'll see if Benning decides to give him a contract this year.

Didn't realize he could shoot the puck so well.
  18. Anyone know when the KHL season ends? Wonder if we could get him over here this season.
  19. Gaunce with his second goal of the game to try and rally the Comets late, but they fall short and lose 3-2.
  20. Gaunce with a goal for the comets. Assist to Subban.
  21. Virtanen wouldn't be on that line if Vrbata was getting it done. We're about 4 top 6 forwards away from a top 6 right now. That's forcing young guys into roles they're not ready for.
  22. Anyone still think it wouldn't be a good idea to loan him to team Canada? It seems to me like he's regressing.
  23. Bieksa played college hockey too. Connauton and Cannata were also good picks for where they were drafted. Connauton's in the NHL right now, and Cannata has shown he can be starter in the A.
  24. BC pulls off the regulation win after some dicey moments late in the game. Demko gets the W but his SV% and GAA take a bit of a hit.
