  1. 4 shutouts in his last 5 games. His stat line now reads 7GP - 6W 1L - 0.86 GAA - .967SV% He's just cruising right now!

    Anton Rodin | RW/LW

Funny how the Westerholm twins play with Rodin on Brynas. i remember when we drafted Pathrik it was pretty much and automatic we were going to get Ponthus too. Comparisons to the Sedins were bound to happen even though they were long shots.
  3. I meant he fell out of favor with management. The fact that they put him on waivers even though they didn't have to says alot.
  4. Thought this was kinda funny. Shows how far Corrado fell.
  5. Finally something to post about with this guy. Gaudette had his first college goal tonight. 7 GP 1G 1A
  6. That's the thing that people need to understand. Add Ehlers to an already small team and we become that much easier to play against. Winnipeg needed more skill. We already drafted our smaller skilled player in Shinkaruk too. That made size a definite necessity at last years draft. So it really came down to Virtanen vs Ritchie and they obviously went with speed over toughness. Plus the local factor.
  7. Boeser's breakaway goal from todays game https://streamable.com/fnub
  8. That game messes up Demko's GAA a bit since he let in 3 on 24. But he also picks up an assist and a regulation win thanks to Johnny Gaudreau's little brother who scored with 36 seconds left.
  9. The shutout streak may be over, but the point streak is just beginning! Demko picks up his first assist of the year.
  10. The shutout streak comes to an end. Denver score halfway through the first period.
  11. I guess you missed the news. Anthopoulos doesn't work for the Jays anymore.
  12. Virtanen had as many hits as the entire Habs team last game, and you didn't notice him? Maybe you should pay attention more. His lack of offense is a problem I'll agree. But we heard the same belly aching about Horvat last season too until after the all-star break. If he gets sent down it won't be because his lack of points, it will be because they don't think his two-way play is good enough.
  13. So did Horvat. Neither goal was his fault. Judge him on his lack of offense tonight, not a -2 rating.
  14. Brisebois with no points and was -3 in his teams 5-3 win. Pretty disappointing start for this guy. He'll always have higher expectations because he was the pick received for Lack.
  15. I don't see McCann as cocky so much as confident in his abilities. I can't picture him chirping or taunting the crowd like Kesler does. But you never know. He's a competitor. The fact that he was mad about where he was drafted says alot. Some players just want to make the NHL, others want to be among the best in the NHL. Hopefully he strives to be the best.
  16. This guys a natural leader. I still remember the video of him pushing Tryamkin up the grouse grind. Gaunce is also a natural at scoring garbage goals. He feasts off them. Which is great because those are the majority of goals that are scored in the playoffs.
  17. You only have to look to the 2015 draft where he selected 5'11" 170 lb Dmitry Zhukenov. He's definitely not against smaller players. But in the first round I think he's going to look for the best mix of size, skill, and speed.
  18. Well I think we needed a goalie and he was the best one available. As far as best player, that's hard to say at this point. Dvorak and Hickey both look like great prospects.
  19. I don't think he needs pumping up right now. His numbers speak for themselves. There's still a long ways to go till the NHL though. He has the ability, but as we've seen things can go wrong along the development path. I'm just gonna stay cautiously optimistic.
  20. Because the track record of fans on here pumping up prospects isn't exactly a good one. People put huge expectations on these young players and then rip them when they don't meet those unfair expectations.
  21. Lets see how he does in the AHL before we start proclaiming him anything.
  22. Horvat excelled early because of his faceoff ability. McCann is excelling because he can play a 200 foot game. Virtanen is not a 200 foot player or a shutdown center. He's an offensive player playing a grinders role on the 4th line. He's not gonna shine in that role. No player shines with 5 minutes a game unless they're a goon that drops the mitts.
  23. I would say Jake should go back to junior, but based on what I saw on the Hitmen last season he's not going to learn the defensive side of the game there. Despite getting the rookie treatment, I still think he's better off with the big club. He'll learn more in the NHL than he would going back to junior.
