The only thing that matters is that he knows where to be on the ice and how to find open space. No one should be expecting him to make Hank like passes, or to dangle D-men like Datsyuk. He just needs to know where to be for his linemates to get him the puck, and where his linemates are going to be when he has the puck. Just keep his game simple early on.

Compared to the Greyhounds system, it's night and day. That's why the Greyhounds have developed more top two way players like McCann. We've only seen Virtanen play at the junior level for the most part (except for a brief stint in utica), so to say that he lacks offensive awareness is a little premature.

Product of poor coaching. If you saw the Hitmen in the playoffs you'd see this was a problem the whole team had. The team was horrible defensively and their system was very shaky. That's why I don't think sending him back to Calgary will necessarily be a good thing for him. A good coach can correct this as long as the player is smart and willing to learn. I'm not too worried about that part of his game. Lots of players come into the league with poor defensive awareness.

If you don't even know that Gaunce is a winger now, why are you pretending to care about his development anyways?

[Official] Toronto Blue Jays Major League Baseball thread
DeNiro replied to The Stork's topic in Off-Topic General
Too cocky to pitch around Davis and Jones and they got burnt. Good teams need to get humbled every once and awhile. -
He's a playmaker, he's never going to be a big shooter.
-
I'm assuming he meant he was out of place with a bunch of vets.

If Brady was guilty you wouldn't need to say it, he would be guilty. They didn't know it was against the rules to steal signals? Hmm. No the judge didn't have enough evidence because it was covered up well. Not well enough to not become public though. Doesn't mean someone wasn't at fault. And it comes back to my initial thought that there is a league cover up to protect the integrity of the league. They didn't wanna find Brady guilty. That would be like the NHL suspending Crosby for cheating. It would have more damaging effects than good.
-
I wasn't impressed with the suicide pass he sent McCann, or the lack of response afterwards.
-
I know enough to know that someone is likely guilty and the league failed to figure out who. I'm not gonna expect to get a logical unbiased response form a delusional Pats fans. So I'm done with you here too.
-
I'm not saying there's enough evidence to find him guilty, but there is enough evidence to make you question what happened and who knew what. Where there's smoke there's usually fire. Natural cause? Give me a break. Now that sounds like more of a crazy theory than tampering. Someone was involved, the only question is who and for what gain. We'll probably never know. I never said the tampering was orchestrated by the league, I said the whole aftermath is just for show.

Lol, so much spinning going on. So because they didn't get caught, they're innocent? Good logic. Destroying ones cell phone definitely seems like the actions of someone who wasn't involved. Right? Right? Accepting the initial punishment would have been accepting guilt, which they weren't gonna do if they were guilty or innocent. They obviously washed their hands of any association with what went on. They proved the balls were deflated, the only thing they couldn't prove was who was involved. They have their suspicions, just not enough proof. That doesn't mean there wasn't cheating. But I'm obviously not gonna convince you because you clearly think Brady is Jesus and can do no wrong.
-
So they didn't cheat? Pretty sure there's evidence the balls were tampered with. Sounds like you're in denial a bit. How is the league sitting back and doing nothing when there's evidence of cheating good for their brand? This would be like if we found out the Blackhawks changed the size of their nets on their way to the Stanley Cup. A league can't just sit back and let a team cheat like that without doing anything. The most absurd thing is that you actually think fans around the league should just ignore this.

Rodin was one of the top scorers on his team too along with Sweatt. Seems like these guys are having success after the failed experiment that was the Chicago Wolves.
-
Well a fourth liner can be somewhat dumb as long as he plays a simple game. Defensemen can't hide their mistakes as much as a forward.
-
The league is willing to spend that money because they want to misdirect people to the fact that a team cheated on route to winning a championship. That has a very damaging effect on the integrity of the league and if they simply sat back and didn't do anything, it would look horrible. So they came up with the most severe punishment they could think of, likely knowing it wouldn't stick (because lets face it there was minimal evidence against Brady's involvement). Now the league looks like it at least tried and just failed, Brady comes off as innocent, and the whole thing is just swept under the rug.

Right. Just like Bettman and the Devils never orchestrated the Kovalchuk contract in order to close the contract loophole. They waited for the dust to settle and then the penalty was revoked. It's all about the appearance of coming down hard. The NFL didn't lose anything here. They don't wanna suspend Brady, he's one of their best marketing tools. This all just equals more free publicity for the NFL. And if you think things like this don't happen in sports, you should read up on sports scandals throughout history. Money talks.
-
Yea just pretend it's a conspiracy theory, it's the only argument you have. Keep believing everything that's fed to you though. Deals behind closed doors never get done, nope. It's okay, I don't take the average Pats fan around here seriously anyways. They're like Kings fans after 2012.
-
Good too hear. That seems like a solid weight. Light enough that he'll still be able to fly, but heavy enough to still throw his weight around.
-
Why? You don't think NFL teams and owners don't get special treatment like in the NHL? Pretty naive there. People acting like the Patriots just scored some victory over the NFL are jokes. Open your eyes. Kraft and Goodell are buddies.
-
Still think this is the outcome the league wanted. Pretend to come down hard on the leagues golden boy knowing full well there's no grounds for suspension. That way fans think the league tried and that it was out of their hands. Win win.
-
I'd actually be curious to see Kenins play with the twins. He reminds me of a young Burrows. Plays a simple game and knows how to get open and shoot. Could work.
-
I don't think the Canucks were ever going to take Roy in the first round. I think they were trying desperately to get a 2nd hoping that he would be there. I'm happy with Boeser and Brisebois. I think Brisebois fits the same mold of what we need, he's just not as high profile.

Tough D-man aren't worth a damn without hockey IQ to go along with it. Big dumb D-men equal nothing more than penalties and goals against.
