  1. From what I've read it sounds like they're developing him properly over there. Making him earn his ice time, and being patient with him. He should get a bigger role for Automobilist next season too. I'd rather him be developed in a place that he's comfortable, rather than forcing him over here, having him have to deal with the language barrier and getting accustomed to a new country. Hopefully in the next couple years he can keep learning English, work on becoming a more complete player, and the result will be a player that's much more ready to jump into the NHL and make an impact.
  2. Pretty much. From this guys comments about being the "next big Russian in Vancouver" I would say he's pretty confident about making the NHL. He apparently has no interest in anything less than jumping into the NHL and making a name for himself. Whether that actually happens or not remains to be seen. Gotta like the confidence though.
  3. He didn't seem like a guy interested in playing in the AHL. Hopefully he can make the jump straight from the KHL to the NHL.
  4. Didn't see this posted anywhere. It's Boeser's game winning assist from USA's 5-4 overtime win against Finland. Nice patience and a little back hand feed to an onrushing Werenski at 2:49.
  5. Lol. No, the color guy on TSN. Seems like a big Eskimos homer.
  6. I hope the Lions win just to shut this clown up...
  7. That's why his speed is deceptive. You think he's at top speed and then he hits that extra gear to blow by defenders. That's the best kind of speed to have. Grabner and Raymond both had it.
  8. Boeser and team USA face off against the Swedes at 1:00. Looks like this lineup is pretty close to the final roster. All the big guns are dressed. No Matthews though.
  9. You realize Strome played last night too right? Did you see him do anything special? Alot of people think he could slot in for Arizona next season too, You can't take one game as a determining factor for if a player is ready or not. He played great the night before (one of the best players on the ice next to Point), not so much the next night. Lets see what he can do during Canucks camp before saying he's not ready.
  10. One thing I made note of before was how well Benning (whether he can take full credit or not), made the most of draft picks he got back in trades. If you look at the Bruins history of trades, the picks they got back often turned into valuable assets. I think we may already be seeing that with the 3rd round pick for Lack (Brisebois), the 1st round pick for Kesler (McCann), the 7th round pick for McNally (Olsen). Even the 2nd rounders he traded to acquire Vey and Baertschi I think were both solid moves.
  11. That would be sweet if he could play at 230 with a low body fat %. Impressive that he can still skate that well for 230 lbs.
  12. I think he'll be at least given the same opportunity Bo was given.
  13. Nice. So assuming he just got the one assist today on the game winner, that puts him at 3G 2A in 3 GP for the tournament,
  14. Lets not get carried away. Brett Hall is a hall of famer.
  15. Looks like Boeser will be playing with Tkachuk and White today.
  16. So they set their final roster right now in the summer? I could see him being on the third line with some first unit powerplay time.
  17. Throwin' his weight around gettin' everybody woozy He's 205 and he looks like a watoozi Here he comes he's got the moves of Leonarduzzi I said uh uh, he's called the Jake Virtuzzi
  18. Check the World Junior thread, they're in there.
  19. I think people make too big a deal about the D. Yes we need that elite puck mover, but overall the depth is pretty good. In reality most D cores are signed through free agency or built through trades, unless you're Nashville who draft heavily on D. Add one elite guy like Chychrun and I'd say we're pretty good. We have the solid bottom pairing projected guys, and I'd say at least a few potential top 4 in Hutton, Corrado, Brisebois, and Subban. The rest can be filled through free agency. Just need one good draft to address that area.
  20. If Zhukenov tears up the Q to start the season, he could have a small chance to make team Russia.
