I love how he just casually coasts back waiting for the one timer. If he can keep doing that with consistency, he's gonna score alot of goals.
-
What a heavy shot! Pretty hard for a goalie to stop the puck when a player can blast a one timer like that.
-
He definitely has chemistry with Milano and Larkin. That could easily be their top line come December.
-
Hattrick Boeser! There we go!
-
If he improves his skating a bit definitely. Carter is a really good skater. Make that 4 goals for Tkachuk. 7-2 for Team USA White.
-
Lets hope for the hattrick for Brock. That should stand out and leave a lasting impression on the coaches when they select their team.
-
Team Blue lost both its games by a big margin, 5-2 and 10-1. Boeser's team, team white, however won its first game 5-2 and seems like they'll cruise to victory in their second game.
-
So Boeser has two goals but hasn't been visible? Playing the role of that elusive sniper. Also I'll definitely be keeping my eye on Matthew Tkachuk for next years draft. He could potentially be a target for us depending on where we draft.
-
That is a tiny first line with Point and Konecny on the same line. Something tells me they'll switch that up.

Don't you kind of wonder why Pilon fell so far? Clearly lots of teams were scared off by him for a reason. As for Gaudette, he may have been more off the board, but clearly the scouts saw something in him. That's where they earn their money. It's not like anyone can say there was a definitive "right" choice at that spot anyways. It's all a guessing game at that point.
-
Hard to say he goofed this early. Just because he didn't take higher profile players like Pilon, Desrocher. or Bondra, doesn't mean Neill and Gaudette won't be NHLers. I don't remember people raving about Corrado when he was picked in the 5th round. Seems to me he's on the verge of being a full time NHLer. That's more than can be said about some of the other players taken around his spot.
-
I wonder how much correlation there is to players having a successful Ivan Hlinka and being impact NHLers. It would be interesting to see.
-
45 goals as a 17 year old in the dub muchambo. All while not getting top minutes and playing behind older players. He's more than just skating and hitting.
-
Not fast, but efficient. Both are smooth skaters.

Nobody said the Canucks had their D. Where'd you get that from? And Calgary is not the only ones following that model. Chicago is built around puck movers as well. It's easier said than done to get guys with size and skill, those guys have to be acquired through good drafting. In the meantime the Canucks should be focused on getting good puck movers into the lineup, to help our young forwards develop a transition game.
-
That's what some people don't understand. We can load up as many big bruisers on the back end as we want, but if our D can't skate the puck out of our zone or make an efficient outlet pass, it's useless.
-
Sadly it`s true. That should have been enough to close out that game. Unfortunately we all remember what came next... What could have been that season if we had won game 6 and closed Chicago out at home.
-
I doubt it. I don't think he's on their radar at this point. Next years junior team is a possibility though if he has a standout season.

A 22 year old former 13th overall pick who has put up a point a game in the AHL is most certainly a top prospect. If you would prefer a 2nd round pick, you're ignoring the odds of a 2nd round pick even reaching the level Sven's at now, let alone ever making the NHL.
-
He could stand to get stronger, but he definitely doesn't get "thrown around" like you're claiming. His battle level got better as the season went along, and he got more and more comfortable going into the corners. Just needs a bit more speed and strength to reach the next level.
-
Good to see Chicoutimi already has a Russian player. Hopefully that will help him transition. Playing with a top player like Roy should help too.

Vrbata is a good support player, but he's not a guy who can carry the load offensively like we expected him to do here. It's pretty easy to shut a team down when they only have a few offensive threats. He still led the team in points along with the Sedins (4 PTS in 6 GP). Adding him to an already strong top 6 would be a good move for any team looking for more scoring. He should definitely command a 1st round pick at the deadline if Benning can close a deal.

Shinkaruk is also only 20 years old. Yes there's a good chance that these guys won't be first liners, but it's not impossible with some hard work. Who would have thought Edler would be a top pair defenseman at age 18? Not a whole lot of people on here.

There's a difference between being a great skater and being a fast skater. When they call him a great skater they mean he's strong on his skates and agile. He does have a powerful stride, he just needs to work on his first few steps.
