  1. Having three lines as opposed to 1 completely changes the dynamic of the team, and would have made it tougher for Canada to dominate like they did. I know it's popular these days for Canucks fans to rip on the Sedins, but to say Henrik wouldn't have made a difference for them is laughable. Take away the top 3 centers from any team and it would decimate them, and that's what happened.
  2. Well you can take away two goals from today's game without Crosby and Toews. Would have been a much different game had it been the opposite and Sweden had Henrik, Zetterberg, and Backstrom in the lineup. Just saying.
  3. He had 5 points in 6 games and helped lead his team to the gold medal game. I would say he did just fine. That Swedish team was defeated by all their losses up front. No point evaluating one players performance when the whole Swedish team played poorly. I noticed Daniel and Edler more than most the players today.
  4. And who on team Sweden was noticeable up front? There's your answer. Sweden was fortunate to be in that game after losing their top 2 centers (and then their third for this game). This game was over before it started for them. Take away Crosby, Toews, and Getzlaf from the team Canada roster and let me know how well they would have done.
  5. What did you really expect him to do with no top center to play with? He was taking faceoffs for Sweden. That shows how much depth they had left.
  6. Yea but Finland has better forwards with the injuries Sweden had. My point was that if Rask was in net against Sweden, Finland would have likely been in this game.
  7. I wouldn't go that far. I think if Finland had Rask and made it to the gold medal game they would have given them a run for their money.
  8. Classy move by Babcock letting him go on for the final few seconds. He was one of the first ones out to celebrate.
  9. Yea, Toews is future hall of famer. Canucks fans need to stop putting such high expectations on our prospects. If he turns into a Bergeron type player I'll be more than happy.
  10. Okay, now back to hating half the guys on the team. Time to focus on the Canucks.
  11. You can fix any sport with performance enhancing drugs, illegal equipment, and corrupt judges. With 51 billion dollars spent, there was alot more on the line for Russia than there was for Canada. I'm sure there's money in there for bribes somewhere.
  12. Russia wins the Olympics...Was there ever any doubt? Either way they didn't win hockey gold so they lost.
  13. Definitely. But I think that's just their default style of play when things aren't going well. I hope they can get back to playing that way. So much more fun to watch.
  14. Daniel has always been slow. I'm not worried about that. What he needs to do is start getting in better shooting positions. and using his shot more instead of trying to be a playmaker.
  15. 5 points in 5 games and heading to the gold medal game.
  16. Bo wearing the A tonight. Only 1 assist so far.
  17. Kunitz-Crosby-St.Louis Marleau-Toews-Sharp Bergeron-Getzlaf-Perry Benn-Duchene-Carter My obvious lineup choice. Lets get the offense rolling.
  18. It just makes the most sense to keep Corrado down. It maximizes our depth because we wouldn't have to trade anyone. He'll get his chance next season unless there's more injuries or a trade or two.
  19. It's because Domi can't play D worth crap so they need Horvat to cover for him. The guy floats so much and gets alot of his points on the powerplay. I think his real attitude is showing this season. Anyways, it's idiotic to not be playing Horvat at center, but I guess London's defensive game is so poor Hunter is trying to balance things out.
  20. All that means is that they don't wanna go unless there's financial gains for them.
  21. He clearly had his mind made up before the tournament, and barring Price having an awful game, it was gonna be him. I accept that, but it doesn't mean I have to agree with it. IMO both goalies give them a fairly equal opportunity to win. And if neither goalie outplayed the other in the first few games, I would go with history, and play the guy that won it for you before. What these guys did up until the start of the Olympics shouldn't have been a huge factor. Thinking that Luongo was gonna keep playing poorly forever based on his history is silly. The whole team was struggling. In Lu's game he looked confident and calm, and the team looked more relaxed in front of him. Price has won at the international level in juniors, but beyond that he's fairly new to this kind of pressure. I hope I'm wrong and Price has a strong tournament, but if it was my choice I would go with the vet that has dealt with pressure his whole career.
  22. Corrado is already in Utica and will likely stay there this season. I'm thinking Weber will be sent down when everyone is healthy. He's the most likely to clear waivers like he did last time.
