  1. Part of fighting involves actually hitting the guy. That's like saying, if Kassian had punched harder he would have knocked him out.
  2. He's 21. I don't see how you can make any sort of accurate projection so early in his career. Sorry, but basing it on a gut feeling, isn't really basing it on much. He could end up being Bert 2.0, or he could end up being a dud. Neither of us can pretend to know right now. Alot will be determined in the next few years of his development.
  3. There's not as much difference as you think. Both are physical players. Neil is obviously more physical, but Torres can throw just as big of hits. And of course Neil is tougher and more intimidating, and actually enjoys dropping the mitts. But Torres has better numbers than Neil over his career, regular season, and playoffs. Not saying that I would take Torres over Neil, but the fact is both are third liners who provide physicality and a little bit of offense. If that's our only goal for Kassian, then we should have never made the trade. But I have a feeling he'll be a much better player than either of those two.
  4. If Kassian only becomes a Chris Neil/Raffi Torres type player, it will be a huge fail for Canuck management, and our player development system. His ceiling should be a Bertuzzi type player, otherwise it will be a failure. And it's really not that unrealistic when you consider Bertuzzi only really had 3 or 4 years where he was a dominant player. If we can't get 3 or 4 years of Kassian being a top player in the league, then it will be a disappointment. Because I bet Hodgson will be a top player in the league for at least that long, if not longer.
  5. Schroeder is typically a slow starter. He should shine under Arniel though. I'm not too worried. Look for him to bounce back strong next weekend.
  6. His shootout goal totally reminded me of big bert. Just the way he skates and handles the puck. He's pretty agile for a big guy too. I liked what I saw tonight.

    Anton Rodin | RW/LW

A good place to talk about Anton Rodin.
  8. Kassian with the nice assist on the insurance goal tonight. He just muscled the defender with one arm and shoveled the puck out to Sweat with the other. Underrated play right there.
  9. Gaunce with a goal in a 4-1 Belleville win tonight. Belleville continues to keep pace for top spot in their conference.
  10. McEneny is back from his injury, so it was obviously nothing serious. He had no points in a 3-2 loss and was a -1.
  11. 1 Assist today for Gaunce in a 2-0 Belleville win. He now has 7 points in 8 games, and has gotten his +/- down to -5. Which is good considering where it was. The bulls are now 3rd in the Eastern Conference, and only 2 back of Oshawa.
  12. Gaunce with a shootout goal to go with his game tying goal. Ties things up at 2. And J.Subban scores to win it for Belleville! Wow, they were lucky to win that one. Gaunce with an awesome game though.
  13. Gaunce with the game tying goal with just over a minute to go. Sounds like he's having another strong game defensively. Going to a shootout now. Gaunce will likely be one of the shooters.
  14. Yea, I would put my money on a groin injury. And like you said, it's to be expected. Hopefully this guy can stay healthy, cause he seems pretty promising. This team can use as many D-prospects as it can get its hands on too
  15. The Generals win 4-3 off a goal from Laughton... Subban absolutely stunk it up. Let in 3 long shots, with a couple of them bouncing off his glove, including the game winner. Crappy way to end it after they tied it late. The good news is Gaunce got a goal and played awesome defensively. Blocked alot of shots, and was constantly clearing the puck on the pk. The Generals are a much better team though. They have Jenner, Laughton, Biggs, and Lessio. To think they could of even had Jensen on the team too.
  16. Woo! Bulls tie it at 3 with 17 seconds to go! Pretty sure Gaunce assisted. Have to wait and see. EDIT: Doesn't look like he got an assist, but he got a +1.
  17. 1 goal so far today for Gaunce, still a period to go. His team is leading 1-0. Anyone that wants to listen to the game or future games, you can listen live here: http://www.cjbq.com/leons/ Here's highlights from last game too where Gaunce had a goal and an assist: http://www.bellevillebulls.com/video/index
  18. And the fact that most people on here haven't even actually watched him play. People just look at the -8 and assume that it's all his fault. In reality, he may be paired with a weak D pair, and he's likely being played against other teams top lines. It's not like he's a bad player on a good team, it's the opposite. He's a good player on a bad team (with a good goaltender).
  19. Kassian looks like he just broke out of an insane asylum.
  20. They don't have to tell him that he has a guaranteed spot. Isn't it a given based on how weak their D is? He definitely went their for a better chance at more ice-time. He's lying if he says otherwise.
  21. A calder cup maybe. The Barons are a pretty good team.
  22. All AV asks is for players to be defensively responsible and not make dumb plays. Is that really too much to ask out of a player? The ones who have done that have all excelled under him.
  23. One thing I think we can all take joy in: Burke didn't get him.
  24. Sturm helped us get Booth, so it was actually a pretty good signing.
