Where would Rodin go if he were brought over here? Does any CHL team own his rights? It would be awesome to have him go to a team like the Knights. But isn't it better to keep Swedish players in the SEL until they are ready for the NHL? It's a really good league for developing young players because they gotta earn their ice time like in the NHL. Alot of teams choose to keep Swedish players over there until they're ready to make the jump.

Nice goal today, bud. It sucks that you lost. Nice goal by Rodin though. He also drew two penalties, which is good to see. 2:14 is just inappropriate. I wonder who he was doing that to...
  3. I knew you were being sarcastic before I even read the second part. It's true though. So many people slag this guy for his size. Schroeder wouldn't have made it this far if he wasn't able to overcome his small stature. If anything, I think smaller hockey players have a mindset to try even harder to prove everyone wrong. It's like people telling them that they're too small to play hockey their whole lives, lights a fire under them. Just look at a guy like St. Louis. That guy was probably told his whole career that he was never going to make it because he was too small. And look at him now...5'9 and putting up almost 30 goals for the past 7 seasons.
  4. I would think they would want to keep him fresh, but I dunno, he might need a couple practices first. The way I see it is, he's not coming from the CHL, he's coming from NCAA. So he's already used to playing with bigger stronger players. In that sense, he shouldn't be too overwhelmed. And he also has the wheels to keep up with a faster game, so thats a plus too. I'm pretty sure Arniel stresses defence first, much like Vigneault. And from what I've heard, Schroeder has a pretty solid two way game. So IMO, he should have all of the tools to get in there right away, as long as he gets a practice in on Thursday.
  5. I wonder if this is why Gillis didn`t acquire any third line players at the deadline...All of the Canucks scouts said at the beggining of the year that they thought Schroeder was basically NHL ready. Could we see a third line of Raymond-Schroeder-Hansen? Not likely, but I gues we'll find out. I like the way Wellwood has been playing, and I dont know if a raw rookie would be an upgrade over him... I'm definetly excited about the idea of him turning pro though.
  6. Schroeder - Hodgson - Grabner How sweet would that be? Lets hope it happens. I would definetly buy an AHL playoff package if these three were playing together.
  7. That basically describes the entire Moose team... They really dont have any guys that are willing to mix it up, aside from Desbiens, Pope, and Keane. What they need is goal scoring. And if Rai can bring that, then I think he deserves a shot.
  8. So he can avoid playoffs altogether then? That would be awesome if him and Hodgson can join the Moose in the next little while. They desperately need some offence right now.
  9. Will his team make the playoffs? Aren't the gophers fairly low in the standings?
  10. Wow Naslund's playing for a college team now, I wonder if that team pays him... Good for Schroeder though. He's obviously got the talent, he just needs try and perform on a regualr basis this season.
  11. He would be able to go to the Silvertips or the Moose.
  12. So even if his season is over he can't join the moose? Hodgson is still a junior and he was able to play for the moose last season. But after the season he's having in Minnesota, maybe he'll start considering playing in the WHL. Look how well it's working out for a guy like Connauton.
  13. Has Gillis mentioned anything about Schroeder joining the Moose after his season is done? That would be a huge boost to the Moose for their Calder Cup run. Assuming Hodgson eventually recovers, imagine a top 6 of: Shirokov Hodgson Grabner Pettinger Rosa Schroeder
  14. He had 3 assists in his two games this weekend I believe.
  15. 1 assist yesterday in a a 3-1 Gophers win. So thats three points in 2 games since returning from the WJC. He now has 15 PTS in 20GP, and hopefully he starts to rip it up from here on out.
  16. That would make my day. Along with a Canucks win that is.

I know eh, it's pretty unreal. That guy is a force on the ice, he's not intimidated at all.
  18. I cheered pretty hard when Schroeder scored... As long he has a good game I'll be happy, but it's Go Canada all the way!

It still seems to me like he's holding back...He's got two assists in this game, but they're not exactly great ones. The other players on his line are doing the work. Sweden has alot of great players though. I wouldn't have minded drafting a couple of them. Tedenby, Lander, Petersson, and Larsson all look like great picks. The steal has to be Petersson though, that guy looks like the real deal, and he was drafted in the fourth round.
  20. It seems to me that he's lost some confidence this year... Probably because his poor play on the Gophers. I would hardly say its his fault though, his linemates this year on the Gophers and on team USA are not nearly as good. Last year he had Wilson and Van Riemsdyk on his line. It's too bad he's not playing with Kreider, that guys awesome...
  21. Schroeder was not impressive from what I saw tonight. Seemed to float around alot and wait for other players to retrieve the puck. Hopefully he plays better in the final, but not too good.

Yea he's got great hands. Seems to have kind of an awkward skating style sometimes though, maybe just my imagination. The coach was also playing him alot at the end when they were down by two. Good to see.
  23. I love how Schroeder is used in every type of situation. He's on the 1st unit powerplay and the 1st unit penalty kill. Shows that the coach has alot of confidence in him. Kind of like Hodgson was used in the last world juniors. You can tell he's got amazing vision, sometimes it just seems that he's one step ahead of his linemates. Good to see him get the record tonight!

oh yea, my bad. I didn't realize the first game was pre-tournament. Even better then!
  25. 2 points in 2 games for Schroeder now, hopefully he just needs to build some chemistry with his line, and the he'll start ripping it up.
