(Rumour) 4 teams interested in J.T. Miller
86Viking replied to combover's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
I know what your trying to say but no its not quite like that. -
Interest from: Ottawa, Buffalo, Vegas, Pit, LA, Van? Would be a bit of an expensive backup. But at least if he gets near him former form we could give Demko 50-55 games knowing we have a capable G in Driedger. Or was Driedger just a benefit from a strong Florida team? See how he does after this lengthly layoff

If we trade Schenn can we give Woo a call up and see what he can do with a handful of meaningless games to end the season? Make sure he is AHL playoff eligible though as with other players like Aman, PDG, Podkolzin (8min last night only) etc

What # is Raty going to where with the big club?
-
Does this move not have more to do with AHL playoff eligibility or PDG not needing waivers after 1 more game played? reseting his 10 game played clock before needing waivers? Podkolzin only got 8min last night, I would send him back to the A and bring up Lockwood for that kind of usage its best Podz develops with more ice time away from the bright lights down in the AHL

week to week is the new out indefinitely...okay then!

[Rumour] Canucks Getting Calls on Luke Schenn
86Viking replied to Warhippy's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Can bring Schenn back in July, short term time with him gone AND if we don't make him an offer... it is no different than Schenn spurning the Canucks after we got him from Anaheim and he played with Quinn and resurrect his NHL presence as a depth physical shut down D man to then have him pass on signing with us and going to TB for 2 years for the chance and success of winning back to back Stanley Cups. Let's not forget about that folks! -

TB has been mentioned, long way away from his wife though. But if it ends up being Tampa my guess is Schenn & Studnicka for Cal Foote. Gives them a depth F option. If not offer Jet Woo instead? -

3rd round pick/4th round pick or 2nd round pick. I dont care so much on the return as much as the principal of trading an expiring contract for an asset. -
If the GM could pull these moves off that would be some major surgery I would say, nicely done! Not sure if we can get those returns for all the trades but I like them, especially dumping Myers, although I wouldn't retain 50% on Myers, let Chicago do that next TDL to get the higher draft pick. Chicago has the cap room, maybe they take him for free at the draft or after SB is paid July 1?

(Rumour) 4 teams interested in J.T. Miller

I have seen some Carolina fans say that JK has been playing better since December. He had a very slow start so his numbers look worse but I can't remember exactly but something like since Dec 1st JK has been playing at a 60pt pace or something. IF JT is moved for JK, I would still want at least something like Morrow or Suzuki and a 2024 2nd or something to off set the ppg JT is at and the potential of JK given he is still relatively young -

he only has a 10 team list, 21 teams we can trade him to without asking him to waive -
2022-23 Abbotsford Canucks Thread
86Viking replied to CRAZY_4_NAZZY's topic in Prospects / Farm Team
Who should we call up, the guys who play minimal miinutes at the AHL level? I want us to make sure we can send Pod, Aman, Hog etc you name the player but make sure that Abbotsford has a full roster to choose from come AHL playoffs. But for them to get some NHL minutes/pay in the meantime while we have injuries and or some trades occur before the TDL is fine in my books. The goal is to develop players in the AHL that can eventually play and help the NHL team. -
I am hoping for a Mikko or Saku Koivu type of player out of Raty but only time will tell. Let's see if he can improve his skating as that will go a long way in helping him make the NHL in a full time capacity

How so...we offered him a long term deal in the summer he refused to sign it to remain the team Captain long term. HOBO has eclipsed 60pts in 1 season prior to this one and it was last year, to all of a sudden say here is a blank cheque just to keep HOBO would have been a terrible mistake. Did we get the best return, jury will be out on that a while, no RHD came back so that was a bummer, hoping Raty can turn into a Koivu for us at some point and the 1st round pick, well we don't even know what year it is in so that is a few years away from helping unless we move it at the draft for immediate help like a RHD similar to the Romanov trade by NYI I suppose. Canucks gave HOBO the C, paid him over 35m to play hockey here and he still chose to leave, likely to get away from the media and a chance to try and play playoff hockey as that never really happened with him here. So I am fine with HOBO leaving, he will be missed but we achieved nothing with him here and the GM made a choice to sign JT first and with JTs prior years of ppg or better scoring since arriving here it was the safer chose regardless of JT being slightly older than HOBO. Time for everyone to move on, HOBO made his bed and its now with the NYI for up to 8 more years and 5 months. HOBO chose the long term $$$ NYI offered him, its a business at the end of the day but in no way has HOBO proven to be a 8.5m player on a 8yr term I don't care what HOBO fanatic out there tells me otherwise...

Looking at the Pacific division, I wouldn't rule out the Canucks being able to snag a playoff spot as soon as next year. Of course, that won't be easy but if Demko can return to solid form, coach Tocchet gets a more team approached buy in to how he wants them to play and a little bit of luck in a trade or FA signing. Biggest area of overhaul is the D core, something I turly wish we got as part of the return for HOBO but I digress...That is why moving JT if it meant we could get a D man back and maybe a bit of cap space as well would be something the team should consider. Would maybe then have to take a flyer on a Monahan short term to try and be a #2 C for us or something. So like I said there is risk and some luck involved to turn things around for nest season but its not impossible. The team knows how to score they just have to work on the other side of the game. Oh and a healthy proper NHL Goalie will help, Martin and Delia are nice call up type goalies but then again no goalie could overcome our D and the poor D structure we have played for a while now! -

I will never understand the hatred fans have towards hockey media personalities and websites...it is there Fukcing job to attract interest to their webiste and social media. Prime example is the 10 second tid bit Friedman said at the end of the segment regarding JT. AND why is CDC surprised...the team has said nearly EVERY player is available and when your a dumpster fire of a team that is the way it should be! JT has been here for 4 years, he has had time to be part of the change in Vancouver. Was it all an issue because HOBO was the captain...well he is traded now so time to continue moving on however the Canucks GM sees, not our CDC opinions...
