  1. This was the right decision by the Canucks, we need to lock up Pettersson long term before we commit another long term deal at 8.5m like Horvat just got, sucks but we have 1 person to mainly blame and that is Benning, but to a lesser degree Alvin could have paid to move a big contract out if they wanted to keep Bo. Long story short it is over and done with now, but if we could do a do over I am sure we trade JT and sign Bo last off season for a deal that starts with a 7...here we are now with 3 assets for Bo and a signed JT who if not traded this TDL I would think he gets consideration for Captain, especially if him and Tocchet mesh well and get along. Take that heat off EP and give him the C when JT is traded or bought out down the road.
  2. Congrats on the 64m payday to the contrat year play of Horvat, you are now the enemy though as you no longer play for the Canucks, best of luck enjoy your yearly snow storms haha!
  3. Yes he did: 2017-18 New York Islanders NHL 71 21 15 36 AB scored 21g in his 2nd NHL season and has 2 18g and 1 15g season all while being 25yrs old. Not terribly production for a late 1st round pick. Blows the Gaunce, White, Jensen, Shinkaruk etc of the world that the Canucks select...
  4. who do you think...Beauvillier, he scored 20g and has had 2 18g seasons and 1 15 g season. Not f**king bad if you ask me for a guy who is still only 25 and was a late 1st round pick. Keep it salty Stawns, you have turned into a heffy 2.0 just need the S logo in your name
  5. So negative man, retaining for a few months is NOT a big deal. Beauvillier has only 1 year left...worst case we move him next TDL WITH retention for a pick. Or maybe he finds chemistry with EP or JT as his new C in Vancouver. Maybe Vancouver puts him right into Horvat's old PP bumper spot...Beauviller has over 100g and 100a as an NHL player so he isn't a cap dump useless player. He fits to that age the management was talking about. 1 current roster player under 26 who has underperformed...CHECK in AB, 1st round pick in a deal draft possible as high as 13th selection CHECK what other teams that are a bubble playoff team take that rish WITHOUT Bo locked up to a long term deal (which he could be and LL just says nothing till 1pm the day of the TDL) Oh and we get a top C prospect with good size and upside. Sure we didn't get a Morrow/Schneider type of young RHD back, but I honestly doubt a player like that would ever even be offered UNLESS they could speak to Bo's agent before making the trade, but we didn't so time to move on and look forward to the new youth joining our team and waiting to see how they all develop over the next 5 years
  6. What did you expect coming back though...A teams top C prospect, a good young or another top rhd prospect AND a 1st round pick??? Canucks if they dealt Bo to a contender would be getting a mid to late 20s or early 30s overall pick. Getting a potential top 15 pick in what is called a very deep draft is nothing to scoff at imo. I get it, we don't nee Beauviller but I figured he would be involved in a deal to make the cap work...teams just do NOT have the cap space otherwise. Hopefully, we move 1 of Garland or Boeser out now that we have Beauvillier. Worst case, he is signed for 1 more year and gets dealt for a pick next TDL possibly. Play him with EP or put him in Bo's PP1 bumper spot?? This is a decent return on paper regardless on if Bo signs with the NYI or not in my opinion. If Raty can turn into a top 6 C that is a big plus for us and if Beauvillier can be a decent complimentary player maybe he has chemistry with EP or JT as his C? Remember CDC...ANY trade/ draft pick or UFA signing comes with RISK!!! Don't get bent out of shape about this trade, let's see what the Canucks do leading up to the TDL and where both these 2 new guys slot in...I see on capfriendly Raty is in the AHL but is that just a paper move since Canucks are off for over a week still, then he gets recalled for the road trip? I would be okay NOT rushing Raty and letting him and the other young AHL prospects like Hoglander, Karlsson and Podkolzin gain experience and go on an AHL playoff run!?!? Zero need to rush these youngsters until we trade more dead weight contracts off the NHL roster that is!
  7. so you rather the Canucks trade for older players and then immediately commit 17m combined to them for 8 years when both players are near 30 years old...That is NOT what the Canucks need! Canucks got a under 25 yr old forward in Beauvillier, young C prospect in Raty and a 1st round pick. Wish we got a good young rhd back in trade but this management regime knows we need to improve the D, they say it but then they go spend $ on wingers and only wingers... Let's hope this trade works out for Vancouver, could take a few years...If EP40 signs long term and learns how to win faceoffs more regularly then we could have a good 1-2 punch at C. Still need to address the RHD tho...and we moved our biggest trade asset without getting one back, it is so Canuck!
  8. I agree, not sure if he is going to get the same return but Schenn is similar to David Savard? He had some more offense in his game and was a top 4 D on Columbus prior to TDL deal to TB
  9. Garland or Boeser to NJ if they lose out or don't want to pay the price for Meier. In return Canucks get Rielly Walsh RHD and Miles Wood?
  10. How did you get that deal!?!? We pay almost $140 for tv and internet
  11. Not many media people have been around as long as Don Taylor, so I can see why he is frustrated...I think all fans are but we have 0 input on what happens, so remain a fan and enjoy the ups with the downs or like some whiners...go jump onto the Kraken bandwagon but don't keep coming on here and posting, if you do what is the point...can't lose complete grip of being a Canucks fan!? Get over it, a Cup is NOT in the Canucks near future with how the team is built and the poor prospect pool we have hence why we need to trade Bo for some good assets and I hope the GM allows Horvat to talk extension with teams if the return is better then you better allow teams to talk to his agent!
  12. I would have tried to go a bit longer term with Kuzmenko, 2 years is safe tho. But with EP and his new mega deal upcoming will we retain Kuz after his next deal when he will be 29...time will tell Glad Kuz is back, good fit with EP and loves to play the game, great to see as a fan so many players don't look to be having "fun" while earning millions to play hockey...
  13. I am curious if the Canucks are better to get ahead of the TDL and move Bo early as there are some very good C's on expiring contracts who are either similar age or have loads of playoffs and Stanley Cup experience compared to Bo... Larkin Horvat O'Reilly Toews Woud think Larkin and Horvat bring back the biggest return, but the other 2 are cup winners and likely still go for a good amount due to their history of success
  14. Canuck history would tell us we would make the wrong selection in round 2 anyway like we have an most of our 2nd rounders other than Demko and hopefully Hoglander turns into someone special for us as we passed on a RHD with some size in Korzcak...
  15. Should've selected Korczak in the draft...Don't know if Vegas has enough to offer us to make it worth trading in the division.
  16. join the kraken board and leave this one maybe!? I sense you will be sticking around to whine and bitch about the Canucks on here tho...
  17. Have to think there would be more teams interested more than those 4 mentioned. Detroit to me only makes sense if Bo signs as a UFA July 1st, followed by a childhood picture of him wearing Detroit swag
  18. I hope we clean house and replace King, Cull & Yeo if Bruce is getting canned all of them should be replaced too! Let the new regime bring in all their own coaches and if the team still stinks this time next year with or without big changes they will feel the heat from media and fans...no more scapegoat like they did with Boudreau!!
  19. No shit, but this could have been done months ago...the team hasn't changed their play from game 1 to now! Who hired the assistants Yeo and Cull is my question cause if management wasn't behind Bruce as the coach why would they give Bruce his choice of assistants...
  20. It is sad, going to have to listen to Ron Mclean talk shit about our organization and this time he may finally be right...
  21. Maybe it would be too much for Bruce, but it sure would have been nice if he was a guest on after hours...enjoyed his interviews and upbeat demeanor since he came to Vancouver. Unfortunately, I knew this was never going to last, we do NOT have a D core or team cohesiveness to play a well structured team game under Bruce. Seems like bruce will take the high road about his time here, I am sure he is hurt but it won't keep him own imo! We love Bruce chants at the game tonight I hope followed by Sell the team!?!?
  22. So word is that the Canucks owner is NOT getting in the way of another coaching change...Why did JR and PA even keep Bruce this long if they didn't like him, I guess to use the free get out of jail free card saying "not the coach we brought in, we inherited Bruce." So again, just another fail by the Canucks owner going out and hiring his own coach before getting the upper management in place...not surprised considering what the team has gone through the past 10 years. Either way, get it over with already. Seems like players are NOT happy with how Bruce is being hung out to dry and that could affect them wanting to re sign here period like Horvat or could affect who might be willing to sign here as a FA as long as this management group is in charge. It sucks to see Boudreau go through this, what is even worse is there seems to be no accountability on the Canucks owner, president or GM in how it has all been handled. What media person has the balls to call them out on that when Tocchet is introduced to the media next week...
  23. So Tocchet is the head coach to be as the rumours swirl...Gonchar may come with him? What about bringing in Oates as the other assistant coach...was a very good hockey player and decent at faceoffs, something we could surely use to teach our C's how to improve in that area
