  1. Same goes for the Leaf homers on HF boards who bash the canucks and rave about the leafs cup victories...Can never, the interweb has made all that so much more unpleasant.
  2. order 2 proper helmets...the other for Tryamkin! Canucks should be trying to buy low on this guy
  3. As long as we dont sign Marky long term I am good with it. He had a solid year last season, lets hope he can put another year like that together again for us. My gut says if Demko can keep learning and progressing he is the G of the future that I would keep around long term. His age fits well with our core, Marky is going to be 30 soon and his next contract wont be short term, I assume he is going to want 4-5 years at a decent cap hit if he has another good year. I hope Demko has a good pre season and earns more games with his solid play for the upcoming year. Buffalo would be an interesting trade partner for Marky tho, they could use a G, I don't see us trading Marky until at earliest the TDL but even then with the moves we have made I doubt he gets moved at all. If Marky would accept a 2-3 year extension right now I might consider it, as if he plays well it will only cost more or add term to the deal. Demko has 2 years on his new deal so ideally a 2 year extension would be best for Marky 2yr 8-10m range?
  4. Isn't EP 20, 4'' taller and weighs less than Hughes!?!?
  5. But wasn't that apollo 11 mission the only time humans "supposedly" landed on the moon? I am not a NASA follower, I just dont get why if it did happen way back then why hasn't anyone gone back
  6. We don't have any legit RHD prospect that has marinated in the A and is ready for the jump tho...unless Green plays Hughes on the right side or something?
  7. If LE isn't that bad of a player like some here are defending him to be. Then should there not be interest in him if the Canucks were willing to retain up to 50%. Also, I am sure LE would waive for the chance to have a fresh start. Fact is imo, when your an athlete and you make millions you will always be under scrutiny for under performing compared to the contract you signed...Still major fault on this whole debacle goes on JB for giving an aging veteran this albatross of a contract when we were suppose to be rebuilding
  8. technology has advanced so much in thse 50 years, why haven't they gone back to the moon...that is my question?
  9. Gardiner has been on the market 3 weeks...I would be shocked if he got term and 5m or more as a cap hit. He likely is going to have to settle for a short term deal. We don't have the cap space to try and sign him until we sign Boeser (which annoys me that rfa's take so long to sign...they have 0 leverage)
  10. moving Tanev for a pair of picks would be my choice. 2nd and 3rd rounders. 1 of those picks can have conditions like GP or if team makes playoffs or gets into 2nd round the pick changes. Moving Tanev frees up 4.6m. We need that flexibility, we don't need to sign Gardiner though, we have Quinn as our puck moving PP QB. I have to assume he is going to have to settle for a shorter term contract or a 1 yr deal in the 4-5m range? Moving Tanev should be highly considered now, since he is healthy. We could try to nab a replacement from a team that is cap strapped or looking to lose some salary. Stone from Calgary or Murphy from Chicago could be fill in replacements that could be had on the cheap. Or go for a reclamation project like Honka from Dallas?
  11. I agree the swap is not fair on paper, but look at the trade Treliving just made...That is a head scratcher. Bennett would look good on a line with Jake, slot Gaud in the middle that could be an effective 3rd line. Canucks trying to make playoffs, so JB could add a pick or prospect to try make it happen.
  12. Risto would be a nice addition but we are in a tight spot cap wise to take on that contract without move the same if not more back. I also find it funny how a few poster SHAT on my idea of getting Shattenkirk back in a possibly Eriksson deal...He is a RHD, can run a PP and for being so poor defensively he has never been worse than -15 in a season I believe...compared to Risto that looks amazing just based on the stat line of course.
  13. Alzner's buyout other than the 2020/21 season I believe is a lot cheaper than Eriksson. Would be a good vet to have aroun Utica worst case also. Montreal would have to add something like a decent pick if we did Sutter for Alzner imo
  14. Neal was a perennial 20g plus guy his entire nhl career before last year. The chances he can rebound to that are pretty good imo, the fit was just not there. Holland made a good trade, maybe he wont just give Pool Party away after seeing how he was able to move Lucic at not much of a cost and got back the better player
  15. Bennett 13g 14a in 71gp last season Goldobin 7g 20a in 63gp last season Both players had 27 points, both players are the same age. Heck I would even add a piece to get Bennett. or... What about Goldy for B. Lemieux from the NYR?
  16. Interesting idea, I would be alright with that move. Alzner can still pk at least I think?
  17. if true not a wise move by Calgary to honour his NMC, players making that much performing that poorly should be happy for a fresh start. Why a team would honour is mind boggling...especially with another expansion draft up coming
  18. Biega, fantenberg. Also we could look at moving Tanev for some picks I take a defensively liable Shattenkirk who could help our PP over a useless soft plug on the 4th line
  19. I know nothing about the Rags, but they just paid big for Trouba, I thought Shattenkirk was not used much and they wanted to get rid of him? Maybe we trade them tanev instead and get a sweetener for taking on that 2m extra in the contract, or NYR retain a portion? We can move Schaller and or someone else to clear some cap space
  20. Shattenkirk for Eriksson. Use him as a PP specialist then look to trade him at the deadline with some retention. Be way easier to trade a rhd with offensive skill vs an overpaid soft eriksson
  21. I'd do it, the Vey pick returns back to us! Also would try to get pool party from Edm if Goldy could be part of what goes back.
  22. Eriksson for Shattenkirk? Then look at moving out Tanev for a couple picks to free up some cap space?
  23. Decent move by Edm, Neal should be able to pot 20g you'd think with PP time and the opportunity to play in the top 6. Would have been nice if Calgary had some interest in LE, Neal might have been a good fit here...before we traded for Miller and signed Ferland of course! Eriksson to NYR for Shattenkirk, use him as a PP specialist...could retain salary on him and get a better return vs retaining on Eriksson
