they have getzlaf, kesler and bonino perreault as C after this year if they let koivu walk. we can send them schroeder or dalpe. Im sure they will find a good C in the draft. Rackell wasnt a high pick but hes turning out to be a good prospect fairly quickly. The ducks can draft dont think they are too worried. Plus theres always ufa signings

[Trade] Canucks Trade Luongo to the Panthers
86Viking replied to Alex the Great's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
should have kept schneider i knew it. if we dealt edler at the draft, this year we could have had schneids and lu. Wish this happened alot earlier. We groomed and developed schneider for years, he became a great goalie then we moved him, to 10 months later move the veteran proven #1 in luongo... horrible move by the organization. this is why we will be in rebuild not retool mode -

gillis i knew all along he was the wrong gm. man this is sad. we could have done this last year, had schneider and then let him and kesler be our future. instead our gm screws it up big time and does this, yikes, gonna be some rough roads ahead before we are a playoff threat -

and now we wait till lu retires and we are hit with a 2-3m cap hit thanks to the league changing the rules. I like Lack, just wish we woulda kept schneider hes elite! might as well unload kesler edler or some others too its rebuild time... -

Gillis is fired for sure. let a stud in Schneids go and immediately the next year deal luongo.... wow he fracked our team bad! worst gm in our history -
no way we get maata or johansen. So are you undervaluing Simmonds as a player? 45pts aint bad, plus the style of game he brings? perfect match for the twins, he is a more established top 6 guy, something i was hoping kassian would be already. B.schenn is a quality player. he can also play wing so in a year or two. Shinkaruk horvat schenn is a possible line, that doesnt look good? We are trading away the older player, in return we are getting younger, cheaper players who are hitting or havent hit their prime. Schenn could be a 60-70pt guy and do that for years. Kesler did that twice, not knocking kesler at all either. Simmonds with the twins could really wake them up and he could easily be a younger better more physical anson carter. 30goals would be a no brainer for him with the twins. If someone asked you would you take a mid 20s winger with grit who could slot with the twins for edler you would say no? I would much rather have quality like this comingback than sutter, a penguins super late 1st round pick or other teams prospects who have proven far less in the league. This trade for philly doesnt hurt them either, they gain a top 4 d man, and a great shutdown offensive threat 2nd liner, or slot him on girouxs wing. This would be a bold move, and i would applaud gillis for trying something like this, than hlding on, and not doing anything, hes done that for far too long, this core is getting older and has shown they cant get back to where they were a few years back. We replenish our team with youth that can play in the lineup now. Doubt this trade happens in season, but i would really like to see this return coming back

people probly wont like this trade idea edler kesler schroeder for b.schenn simmonds hagg/cousins conditional 2015 1st if philly makes postseason this year, turns into a 2nd if they miss Its basically 1 for 1 Proven top 6 guy kesler FOR young b.schenn who is still a top 6 guy with upside and 6 years younger Edler-proven top 4 FOR Simmonds mid 20s proven top 6 schroeder- young top 9 potential with great speed who hasnt been given a fair chance ever here FOR Hagg/cousins prospect with upside, and the pick which is an added bonus. Not over valuing our guys, but not under rating their players either. We add 2 solid top 6 guys, a decent prospect and a pick in a good draft year.
-
doubt philly offers more than schenn adn 2015 1st, if they did, i would probably take it. Schenn could turn out to be a very good 2nd liner. He is an rfa so we can control his contract for a bit, he is putting up solid numbers. the first is in a so called deep draft. schenn is 6yrs younger, has some grit to his game and hasnt peaked. Kesler is a great player but a return like this is something i would consider more than sutter despres and a 1st this year, but thats me. I think schenn gets undervalued at times. We free up some cap room, while maintaining a decent 2nd line replacement. I much rather get 1, somewhat proven player in schenn who has upside and a pick than getting 3 pieces with 2 of them being of lesser value. Edler doesnt get us schenn i dont think. But id do that deal edler for schenn straight up. Philly could probly afford doing it with giroux, vinny, couts and laughton and cousins coming

Gillis hopefully doesnt make a trade, but all this rumour swirling of kesler, and maybe edler and lu has to be somewhat of a distraction to the team at a time in the season where we should be focused on one thing and thats make the playoffs. I also hope Gillis is gone this year and a new GM comes in to help change the team, time will tell but i am a bit worried leaving Gillis up to trading kesler. If he would have made proper trades with Coho and Schneider to bring in nhl ready help now we could have had a winger or two for kesler already. Those two trades could have done a world of good to help us with our lack of offense and keep our core intact and continue to try and be a contending team. But with those trades it seems like its a build for the future approach, so that being said any moves he makes at the deadline or the draft will be for players with little to no nhl experience and prospects or draft picks. Which is sad after all he did commit to edler and commit to the sedins for big $. When he does this he should have brought in ready now help now ready in a few years hopefully help. Just my opinion

i do like the return from Anaheim. Silverberg is an nhl player now. Etem is a good prospect, history with shinkaruk, Ott 1st which is top 15 for sure. Be tought to player kesler often, but I think thats a package that Anaheim has agreed to offer, and its a hell of a lot better than Sutter(3c) Despres(not too appealing) and a 1st-25-30th and a 3rd. Sedins Silverberg swedish line, hopefully he can snipe 30 goals or so I also like Vatanen as a younger D with some pp qb capabilities. Could we add Hansen and get him or add a pick to get him included? Theres no contest between these two offers, if GIllis takes the Pitts offer because he didnt want to trade in the division but ends up with alot less coming back he should be on the hot seat. If we did the anaheim deal, we could then trade say Edler to philly for Schenn/simmonds Would def improve our lineup long term, hate seeing all these rumours if it boils down to us not moving anyone, looks like the ship has sailed on this team, time to make some changes while our assets are high to get the best return. Get this re tool started and try to remain somewhat competitive

gold medal winning goalie, stanley cup final gam 7 with 2 so. Team leader in most if not all goalie stats. Having a solid year, trying to make a push for the post season, and we are sitting Luongo? Why on earth would we do this? Is this decision all Torts or does MG have any input. Personally Lu should just refuse to play, and get his contract void, this is becoming a disgrace to see Lu being handled in this matter. -

very surprised Lu isnt starting. Who is going to say its due to jet leg still now... -
if montreal is interested galchenyuk has to be involved. Would Dubinksy be a nice return as he could play a role like Kesler, just not as high quality of a player. Dubinsky, Jenner, Erixon and Conditional 2015 1st if Columbus makes playoffs this year, if not its a 2015 2nd for kesler roster player in utica or prospect under contract
