Did the Pens ever attract any notable Swedes or other nationalities from Europe because of Allvin?

What is the scouting report on John Marino? Rutherford gave him a lengthy contract in Pitts, was a late round pick of the Coilers originally. Fairly young but longer term deal, is he worth 2m per year more than what Poolman brings currently? I wonder if we have interest in Kasperi Kapanen, fast and great PK player who will be an rfa with arb rights after this year so who knows what kind of new cap hit he will require? I always liked Severson back when I watched him with the Kelowna Rockets, is a 1 for 1 deal for BB6 fair enough for both fan bases? If we deal BB6, Garland is our lone top 6rw left...I know we use Hoglander on the right side but adding another right shot like Kapanen would be nice if we were to deal Boeser. I don't want Boeser moved, but if he doesn't turn his season around in a big way production wise he would be screwing the team over if he just wanted to take his 7.5m qualifying offer and not sign a more reasonable deal. Unless a team knocks our socks off with a trade you can't refuse you don't trade JT Miller this year. I am talking young right shot C and right shot D coming back. Then talk to him at the start of FA and see what he wants for term and $$$ before moving on from him, which we MUST do if he isn't signing an extension imo. Murphy from Chicago would be a nice add, but he just signed an extension so would have to overpay to get him? that was the old GM tho and looks like Chicago might be doing a rebuild or retool sooner as this season hasn't gone well so far.

Does Allvin have a good drafting record or involved heavily with contracts etc? Penguins haven't had many high picks as they went all in all the time with Rutherford as GM, but being Swedish and knowing the Sedins will likely be co President's after Rutherford retires...this seems plausible. Hope we look at some Carolina AGM's as well as the Tampa organization! They seem to find guys who can contribute at the NHL no matter where they draft...we need that! Lots of potential candidates, but how many teams will allow those candidates to interview mid season?

I think Aqua has dipped in to a bit too much wine...funny tho and kind of true. But look at this site, people post all the media stuff on here so they get heard and talked about even if its in a negative way, still publicity at the end of the day! -
damn I wonder what a $100 bet on Pena woulda won me...

Anyone know why the early pre lims are NOT on TSN? Looks to be 1 or 2 decent fights I would like to see but can't. Of course the PPV is something that is must watch just hope I can get a good stream...the best site with 0 issues ever got shut down by Dana earlier this year I believe it was. If I had $ to waste I would bet on Nunes opponent upsetting her...ala Holm vs. Rousey, doubt Nunes loses but never say never!? The reward would probably be quite good

Rutherford is NOT the Canucks GM, he is the President who will have large input in hiring the NEXT GM... He traded 1sts because he was trying to win the cup, won 2 in a row... -
Thread for those who disagree with the Rutherford hire

lock this up! complete nonsense imo, what did Rutherford do in Pittsburgh, he won 2 &^@#ing Cups. If we ever win 1 I won't give a $&!# about how bad the contracts are going forward or how many picks got dealt, just win a stanley cup at all costs! Enjoy your thread Max...time to join the club! -

This I can agree with AND both are older so both could be grooming others to take their jobs in the next few years. Sedins for Rutherford and Scott Walker for Boudreau? I am happy we have an experienced President of Hockey Ops, let's see who we hire as GM before we get all bent out of shape like Max the racer and others... -

focus on your race this weekend...Your ultra negativity is unwarranted, we jut hired the guy and you think he is going to trade all the core by the weekend...my goodness you are a negative nancy! -
would a 4yr deal around 6-7m be fair for an extension? 1.5-1.75m cap hit till his age 31 season is complete if we went 4 years, so to me the term is fine. He has had some injuries, reminds me of Tanev but is a F. Sound defensive player that won't score a ton but I think would be surely missed if we let him walk...much like how Tanev is missed since we let him go.

If we win the Stanley Cup, Linden will be a part of it. If we go on a deep playoff run, I am sure we will see him at a game. I think the owner without saying it yesterday kind of admitted things went on too long before change. Linden is not under contract with the team, he has a life and probably wants to enjoy it. I was hoping maybe Donnie & Dhali would have former Canucks from yesteryear on their show as guests like Linden albeit unlikely, Ronning, McLean, Lumme, Courtnall etc but so far they havent had too many of them. Gino was on and Hansen who is on 650 as well, even Juice would be nice to hear from...I know he is on HNIC but to talk to a Vancouver based show about the Canucks would still be worth a listen too.

No Dean Lombardi? Eric Tulsky? Chris MacFarland? Darren Yourke? Hard pass on a retread GM like Gillis for me, he has not done anything with a team since we fired him. Hard no to Bergevin, if he was the one to pick that french kid after he wanted to remove himself from the ENTIRE draft yet he still did it...not the kind of GM we want or need, we just bought out a player who had similar some sexual assault allegations against him, would look bad on the team to hire a GM who drafted a kid in the 1st round who did something similar no?
