Start FRESH in my opinion, New GM does an extensive coaching search while Shaw has an interim tag for likely the rest of the year to see who comes available in the off season. If this happened for me as a fan, I can see a fresh slate across the board and will accept however the rest of the season goes. If either Coach of GM makes it the full calendar year, I will be disappointed and may not watch some of the games to finish the year off...sad statement to make I know right

So does the new coach need to be a fairly recent Cup winner?? Or are we STILL trying to find the NEXT John Cooper minor league coach who might become a cup winner? Whoever the NEW Coach is, they need to build a strategy around the guys we have and put them in the Best position to succeed. Hopefully we get a NEW GM as well and he can help assemble a more balanced lineup for the NEW Coach

Exactly and the LAMES did NOT have to give him a raise, long term or NMC either! I know Tanev got hurt quite a bit, but the last year he played for us the trainers had a light bulb going off type of moment and revamped his equipment quite a bit to help protect his body....seems to have worked yet we still walked away -

I have a new born...I would jump the boards and be the guy from Untold Hockey crimes or whatever that show was on The Netflix for league minimum! I would fight any player who ever played in the league for Bo's salary...heck I would do it with 1 eye covered and 1 hand tied behind my back! NHL players we ice on our team are Charmins, it's sad seeing Podkolzin get hit a couple times cleanly but hard and nobody do a thing about it. Poor Russian guy doesn't seem to have an angry bone in his body either...perfect fit for our team eh!? -

I know why, we have an inept GM running the show...re sign a struggling player like Pearson mid season, but never try to even offer Tanev a deal after he proved once again he can be the reliable defensive guy when he played with Hughes, should have been a no brainer to keep you young elite puck moving defenceman's Defensive partner... I mean we gave Tyler Freakin Myers 6m x 5 years for &^@# sakes...the guy is nowhere near as good of a player as Tanev, we screwed ourselves with that signing in many ways...just like MopHead and his 6yr 6m deal we forked out. Those 2 deals screwed this team from keeping a couple good players we had or giving us cap flexibility to take on bad deals for more draft picks...something our GM new nothing about and always gave up picks, I ask someone to find a team doing a rebuild who gave up as many draft picks as we did during JB tenure here... -
Agreed that is what us beer league hockey players do...and we do it for the love of playing the game, we don't lave up them skates for 6-8 figure salaries!! Sad how soft or SCARED players are to do that nowadays...Charmins throughout the league, NHL should rebrand to ESHL: European Style Hockey League

Where is tomorrow's GDT??? -
So Canucks should walk or trade Miller, Horvat, Pettersson etc when they need new contracts? I agree with the first part, give EK his current deal was a big mistake...Wilson didn't want him to walk and see those assets he gave up be gone tho so he caved and gave a guy a contract he deserved about half of! Every GM makes mistakes!!
-
if TO is NOT Taking Poolman or Dickinson back then no thanks. Kerfoot would be a nice fit here for our 3rd line, but doesn't seem like the Laffs would trade him after they traded for McCann to protect him in expansion
-
Ummm....the GM is 100% to blame, he re signed the coach we should have walked away and reset with an all new coaching staff for this year (minus Ian Clark) but we didn't and now look how we are. I saw this coming, a poor start and everyone calling for the coaches head...Time for a full on revamp of the organition, New Management and New Coaches!

GM's & Coaches for me, start fresh. But I can see Green being gone and Shaw as interim coach and that is all we do...for now -

13 game road trip or something like that to start the year is a REAL tough start...I know some here complain about our road schedule, but what the NYI started the year with plus injuries/Covid I think? They do have an experienced NHL coach, who should be able to get them out of it and turn things around -
He does fight, not considered a tough guy I don't think but he fought Dillon last year
-
Yup, so Canucks will pass...we don't like players like that right!? Gotta keep them Highmore, Dowling, Chiasson types instead!

We should've drafted that guy, you need to get guys like that young as they tend to get injuries more frequently later on in their career. We seem to say clear off draft picks who play physical or get involved in that stuff. We had Gadj, he is gone. There is Woo, who I am hoping can make the big club at some point and bring an edge -
so if you were Brock you would say no to a 6-8yr deal worth north of 6m to maybe slightly over 7m so you could take a 1yr 7.5 QO instead... I would take the guaranteed contract with term and $$$, ESPECIALLY with his history of injuries and subpar season thus far. I would try to lock him up with some term if the cap hit was right AND I would get him to work more on his skating
-
This player has interesting traits for us to put a claim in...Size, right shot, listed as a rw/C on elite prospects so not sure if he can play C or how good he is at faceoffs. I would take a flyer on him and use him over Chiasson
-
If we have cap issues there are other players ahead of Boeser you trade or buyout before you move Boeser imo. Myers 6m, Pearson 3m+, Dickinson 2.65m, Halak 3m (not needed at all, shoulda got a 900k backup) All these guys are overpaid or not a fit under our current coaching scheme

it looked okay till I saw Baumgartner retained...please justify 1 reason why he should be kept??
