[Report] Sharks claim Jonah Gadjovich off waivers
86Viking replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
I agree with most of your stuff but you are dead wrong on this one imo. We lost Size and Grit with Gadjovich. Young Size and Grit I might add. Are we expecting him to be the next Lucic....I am sure some loonies are but I was just looking to see a young F with size potential make our lineup. A player who IS willing to drop the gloves and fight, that Bo skateby after Podkolzin hit was a sad sight...A former Captain in OEL knew he had to go and make it known it won't be tolerated, not that I expect him to fight but he didn't do a flyby from our so called Leader. The NHL is a fast league, Gadj will probably always struggle to keep up. But, that is NOT what you have him on your team for... Could he have been a net front presence on a PP unit at some point?? I sure think so, but we have an idiot as a head coach and the team has regressed, tuned him out whatever has occured our coaching staff is garbage -

I would like to see this top 6 iced tomorrow for an ENTIRE game: Podkolzin EP40 Garland Miller Horvat Boeser -
This is what needs to happen... 1. Fire the GM, AGM, Head Coach, Jason King and Nolan Bumgartner 2. Hire an experienced President of Hockey Operations to run the show, let him hire an EXPERIENCED GM and assist GM & to hire an EXPERIENCED NHL coaching staff 3. Move some players out this TDL for assets and build around a younger core...might only be 1 or 2 small to medium sort of trades but recoup picks and prospects for the team 4. Put EP40 on a strong off season plan, set him up with a nutritionist and trainer to help gain strength and if possible put some meat on them bones of his Jim Rutherford as President of hockey ops?? Lots of experience can help groom the twins to takeover. Former NYR GM Jeff Gorton as GM role or maybe MacFarland from COL? What I like about Gorton is he moved out lots of key players for the NYR, so I think he would be willing to move someone like JT Miller or others above 25 years old

I like this players speed, but seeing him laugh and chat it up on the road when we got slaughtered was enough for me...he is an AHL player with NHL speed but 0 grit and seems like little finish at the top level. All the best to him but I hope he stays in Abby, next call up should be Di Gusieppe or Lockwood

Start a GDT already, why is practice talk happening in a PGT....loyalty to someone who wanted to make a GDT, betting they jumped ship on the team haha! -
Nice to see, too bad Brady Keeper is injured was quite intrigued by that signing and would have liked to see him scrap
-
Our team is against big physical players...so we won't be making a claim

[Trade] Canucks Trade for Dickinson from DAL for a 3rd.
86Viking replied to aGENT's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
The sooner we move him to the wing the better, problem is we have 0 depth at C and our GM hasn't address that area, so he needs to play C regardless of how poor is FO% is. Thought his line looked good last night until they got broken up -
These 2 still have jobs because the last 3 atrocious losses came on the road, if these last 3 games are played at home you would have to think the crowd would have been doing a fire ____ chant no!?!?
-
sign Vinny to a 2way nhl deal and put this guy on the 4th line to crash and bang...he will show some emotion, heck even Garland haas gone away from his intagonistic ways already...was he told to calm down by our soft Captain or the Sedins? When you lose as bad as we have been players should be pissed off and going out to hit guys and start a fight or something to spark the team...oh wait we got rid of anyone willing to do that and Schenn is hurt or else he probably would've
-
Yes it has be confirmed, he is just waiting to be eligible for dose #2.

Management options: Tulisky Car AGM, MacFarland Col AGM, Verbeek TB AGM, Luongo Fla, R. Johnson Farm team GM, sentimental choice but highly unlikely Kevin Bieksa etc Coaches: John Stevens Dal (removed from bench to coach from upstairs...odd no?) Boudreau for offense, let Shaw run the D, Julien (not my choice), Crawford, Gronberg (Euro), Cull ( Assistant coach), Bylsma, Babcock, What about: Head Coach Boudreau/Bylsma/Stevens, Assistant Coach Shaw- just signed can't see him being canned already (D), Assistant Coach Cull (F/PP) GM (if possible in season poaching) Tulisky/MacFarland/Verbeek AGM Ryan Johnson AGM Kevin Bieksa(sentimental) Co President's of Hockey Operations: Sedin's We basically promote from within in certain roles, but those promotions are to Assistant NHL jobs not full top jobs in said positions -
Hamonic should be playing in Abbotsford...he missed all of camp and getting him in games will help him, stupid for him to just sit around while we were on a road trip in my opinion, but hey what the hell do i know...watch him get an injury in a home game soon, that would be karma!

Motte in = PTO out right? -
Puck drops at 4 today for the Baby Canucks, really wish the NHL club would have secured some sort of broadcasting for at least the home games so us fans could watch...who are already paying for cable, I am not paying for a stream as I do rely on recording to watch the NHL Canucks so would for the Baby Canucks too...That is what happens when you start having kids!

Hey, if we let in another touchdown we should be waking up to the news of Canucks Management (both GM/AGM) & Coach have both been relieved of their duties. Shaw takes over in an interim basis while the team searches for a new GM who will then conduct his own search to fill his managerial team and coaching staff. -

I know this much, the Canucks Won't be letting in 7 goals against today. Go Canucks, hope the boys put in a solid 60min effort! -
There is a HUGE BENEFIT to canning the current GM...it gives the NEW GM the rest of the year to evaluate the players, especially leading up to the TDL. New GM can then maybe move some players out for picks or prospects...Also gives the NEW GM nearly a full year to assess his scouts, make any changes like bring in his OWN Assistant GM and have a decent game plan leading into the 2022 Draft and FA. It would be FOOLISH to not can the GM now and to wait to the end of the year...teams are less likely to let Managerial people go to a degree but MOST IMPORTANTLY it gives the NEW GM little to no time to assess the team, get ready for the draft etc... I 100% DISagree with what you say, BOTH should go but the first should be the GM, so he doesn't make any short sided moves...give the NEW GM time to talk to the players and assess Green on his own, can still FIRE Green soon after being hired

Dear season ticket holders, You are the upmost loyal Canuck fans as you doll out Thousands of dollars a year to support the Canuck Franchise! If we lose tomorrow, how many of you are going to the next home game and are you willing to start the FIRE BENNING chant!? When the fans voice their opinions at a live game, loud enough for us armchair GM CDC fans who are NOT season ticket holders, do you think that is what it will take for our MIA owner to do something!? This team never took the right direction under Benning and now look at where we stand...floundering around with no identity. Dickinson is NOT a C in the NHL, why did we sign Sutter if he had long term Covid symptoms!? Why did we not sign a good veteran PK guy like former Canuck Brad RIchardson!? Traded for Schmidt which I loved at the time, then to see our INEPT coach use him so poorly he wanted out after 1 year. Letting Tanev go when he was a perfect fit for Hughes (you take the injury risk when you saw that pair fit perfectly in his contract year) The list is long of poor moves, over 8 years we have basically run a very inexperienced coaching staff...since when is that a good idea for a young team?? They need a proven leader behind the bench not a bunch of former players who have AHL coaching experience... I will always watch the Canucks, but man this season is so frustrating! We traded some of our hard minute eating PK guys to Arizona, leaving us with who to ice on the PK going into the season? Motte being injured is a big loss, Lammikko is a place holder but he is all we got. Sure would have been nice to see a prospect who gave his all for a few years in Utica be given a chance like Jasek...Nope we have to take a bunch of Laffs waiver wire fodder at the end of last year instead of promoting from within...just like the 1 game of Gadjovich last year and the poor management handling of him prior to this season. You don't give up on high round picks when your a rebuilding team...yet the Canucks have done it umpteen times under this GM and Coach....they BOTH NEED to go! Season ticket holders I beg of you who are going to attend the next home game, prior to puck drop could you please start a chant!? Something like "We want change...Fire Benning, Fire Green, Bring in experienced replacements." If I was a millionaire I would pay fans to do the above statement, this team is going backwards not forwards after the bubble...and we have some long term high cap hit contracts on the books for years with some key players soon to be UFA's who I would not hold against them one bit if they decided to go elsewhere in FA and not even entertain re signing in Vancouver. Thanks for listening, I life time loyal fan who voices his opinion that many here seem to hate....guess you enjoy watching years go by of crap hockey and key players get older and more disgruntled and less likely to want to stay here...

It did NOT surprise me in the least, don't forget now he was taught by the spineless Sedins...they got punched in the face by a skinny little rookie and did squat about it, fast forward 10 years and our new captain is in the very same mold. -

Corey Hirsch?? -
Coach Green should have never been retained this past off season, it should have been a full on sweep of coaches minus Ian Clark. The GM should have a large part of the blame in this too...I don't think he should remain with the team if we go into coach #3 under him, it might be time to change things up in a big way....but I think that this sort of move won't happen yet, maybe sometime next month or early January would be my guess

An assistant coach in the league who is also a former Canuck that I would have interest in bringing in some capacity if we dump the coaches we have is Martin Gelinas, been with Calgary for a bit -

That was tough to watch tonight, had a 2 goal lead early too! Got to love that Oscar Myers Wiener play... We had a ton of shots but failed to scam even a loser point. On to Anaheim for tomorrow
