  1. People can speculate and make excuses all they want...I am almost 100% positive the team knows exactly what is going on, but they are keeping Hamonic's situation private as they should if it is a family matter. If and when Hamonic returns if he wants he can address it to the media himself and or the team can make a statement with his consent but you know even if told not too some dumbass media person in Vancouver will still try to get Hamonic to answer it.
  2. What is sad is when 1RW goes down with an injury the only replacement we have to fill that role is with a player on a freakin PTO...That is sad and shows how poor our depth is...believe it cause look at what our team has and it ain't much other than a teenager and a 4th line grinder in Lockwood for RW depth
  3. This was a player select top 6 tho...hard to just say win some lose some with such a high pick. If your picking that high it means your team sucks, to put it bluntly! If they truly wanted a D over a F with not picking Tkachuk then we also saw Chycrun and Sergachev taken later did we not!? I wanted Chychrun if we went the D route as he was rated high and look at him now. So yes, it is a win some lose some scenario in the Draft, but DAMN if we waive or get peanuts back for OJ that is going to sting!
  4. If your gonna say Bone is a future 40pt player you could say either of the Boston guys could become a solid 3C who is great on the PK and in the faceoff circle. Man do people overrate our own prospects. Rathbone has many things to like about his game, the BIG question is will it translate to the NHL full time and will he not be a liability in the D zone. If he becomes a 40pt D are you kicking OEL at over 7m or Hughes at 7.8m to the bottom pair in favour of Boner? I am not advocating we move Bone, but it would allow him to play closer to his family and if we could net a return that we like it has to be considered. You can't tell me Rathbone is untouchable...but give him away for peanuts, hell not OBVIOUSLY. At the end of the day our GM is JB, so anything is possible!
  5. You are out to lunch ALF come on and lay off the Scotch haha! Schneider was select 19th Overall and has a decent 2 way game. Add to the fact he has NHL size at 6'2 210lbs AND is a RHD!
  6. For sure, but I doubt that it was to replace Gadj, think the team hoped he would clear....boggles my mind why they think he would and why they took the risk but hey I am just a fan not the GM...otherwise if I was we would have a different coaching staff with proper NHL experience. We have a young team we need some experience behind the bench imo and a fresh face who will give players a chance... We take TO maple LAFF cast offs off waivers last year and play some of them in the top 6 but we can't give our own developing prospects the same opportunity or give someone like Jasek a call up and give him half a dozen games or so!? These type of things make we want to see the GM be replaced
  7. Can all but guarantee the Rags would NOT trade a recent 1st round pick RHD for our LHD prospect. But hey if he was available and depending on the add it would make sense in more ways than the 1 you suggested of the reuniting of Bone & Fox
  8. I would take a risk on him also myself, but who knows right!? This is also Jeff Brown's kid too no?? Worth a flyer on Vs. trading a pick or asset to acquire one...
  9. why do people keep feeding into the posters who try to denounce Covid and or the vaccines/restrictions etc when they have ZERO Legit proof!?!? Stop acknowledging them and they should likely disappear as they aren't getting their fix anymore...no!?!? Covid is here to stay and for a while it seems...the longer it is around the higher chance EVERYONE has of contracting it and possibly getting real sick from it or heaven forbid DIE from it!
  10. We could trade Rathbone to Boston...not an ideal place to send him but it would be doing him and his family a solid by allowing him to play super close to him be it NHL or AHL. Boston has some depth C's with some size like Trent Frederic, Jack Studnicka is not as big but he is a right shot C. Both were much higher picks so Boston might not want to do a simple 1 for 1 deal though
  11. Your prediction or it happened? Mac should have been waived long before Gadj...older and already had his chance to prove what he could do at the NHL level. I remember when he first came up I thought maybe we found something in him, sucks about his dad's sudden passing...has to be very hard to power through that and be at your best at all times (which is needed to be an NHLer). But after losing Gadj, it would sting a bit to lose Mac as well. Maybe Aseneau would get an nhl deal if we need muscle and called him up down the road?
  12. Send Rathbone closer home so he can be near his brother? Would hate to lose him before we find out what he could be but our left side is full in the top 4 for years with lefties now. Boston has: Connor Clifton a right shot D, Trent Frederic a left shot C, Studnicka a right shot C, Berglund a right shot D, Brady Lyle a right shot D. Could maybe swing a deal with our former nemesis??
  13. Personally I think 1 of if not both the GM and Coach should've been gone, but the owner didn't have the balls. I think our team needs a different coach to reach our full potential for sure tho!
  14. It's the final pre season game...finally! See some on here are going to games on the regular, when earlier they were saying they would not be going for quite some time to a big indoor gathering like a game...good on you for changing your tune to cheer on the boys! Stay safe and have fun to all going to the game and most importantly....GO Canucks GO!!!
  15. I hope we waive Hunt Vs. risk losing OJ. I think Rathbone would be best suited to start in Abbotsford and play a ton to start the year. Maybe OJ can boost a bit of his trade value then we move him if possible and then recall the Bone??
  16. Gadjovich...too soon!? haha. Much younger and home grown draft pick, so hell no we can't give a prospect a shot with the big club, gotta bring in small F's and a pto to block his path. I will guarantee the Canucks will NEVER win the Cup with the current GM and Coach. If your such a JB homer send me a PM and lets make a $100 bill bet on it!!!
  17. Mac has been given a long enough look and not shown enough. A fringe 4th line player with SIZE has to hit and use his frame to his advantage...Mac just never did it often enough and he should have been waived long before Gadj in my opinion. But I could see this coming from the end of last year with Gadj getting 1 game and net to no playing time under Green. The coach must go if he isn't going to play your higher draft picks and give them a CHANCE.... Oh well, we shat the bed last year and we kep the GM and Coach, did we really think the coach or GM would change their philosophy!?
  18. You are correct, but that takes someone with half a brain....instead waive a power forward when there is still pre season games happening. It is what it is now, but the coach and GM are making a mess of this team in my opinion. Gets harder to watch and cheer for 4th line smurfs in Dries and Petan to end the pre season... We gonna have 0 muscle up front to potentially protect EP when he gets slashed and whacked, especially come playoffs. Oh well, cheer for team Charmin
  19. Best of luck Gadjovich! I believe you came to camp this year quicker than last year but when you only got 5min of ice and 1 game to end last year...to me the writing was on the wall with coach Green and you, he was never gonna give you a chance. Hope Gadj scores against us if he sticks with the Sharks...karma is a Bitch!
  20. I would love to hear an explanation stating why Gadj HAS to be top 9... There is nothing wrong with him being a 4th liner to start or even the 13th F in my opinion. Hopefully he clears and maybe coach Cull can get Gadj some PK time or something to help round his game out. Stereotyping a young player to only being a top 9 or top 4D is just wrong imo. Players can adapt and change their game with time. Malhotra was a high pick but never lived up to the offensive output. He found himself a key role on the PK and faceoff circle with his determination. Gadj is NOT a C but he has shown improvement and that is ALL you can ask of a young guy trying to find his footing in the pros
  21. I will be quite disappointed if we lose him on waivers...this team needs players with size, so hopefully he clears. I don't know if Gadj will ever get a fair shot with Green as the coach. Think MacEwen is gonna be on waivers soon to as he has been used little under Green. Fingers crossed that tomorrow when I check Gadj has cleared waivers, but I could see a team put in a claim based on last AHL season's output and if they are a rebuilding team they can afford to have a fringe NHLer on the roster
  22. What else is their to talk about tho...Soccer is a boring ass sport, the BC Lions are a meh team this year it seems. I hate TO and their center of the universe mentality but it is the final game of the year for the Blue Jays and they have a chance to sneak into the playoffs or a tie breaker game. So for me, it makes sense that it is the bigger topic to be airing over some pre season NHL player talk or whatever it was prior. Just remember the Canucks play later today and they will be on TV and likely radio! GO Canucks GO!!
